********** Popcorn Alert *************** Major LTC dump over on OK coin. Now being followed in the LTC / BTC market over on BTCe. Possible breach of the Litecoin 0.007 support on the cards in which case we will be co-habiting the 0.006 zone as previous posters have pointed out. Going...going...not gone. Bots keeping it afloat with granular LTC. https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/btce/ltcbtc

(quote from a priv chat) also $1 will be a last stand, make or break moment, I expect

saw this over on the Wall Observer thread, if true could be big news for darkcoin: https://twitter.com/AdamGuerbuez/status/553032557290586113 This is big news for DRK. The other news worth keeping an eye on is the USA showing signs of allowing sports betting online. Would be interested to see how the special interest groups (mainly casino operators) in the usa will be appeased. The Darkcoin Chameleon loves to mix it up with Bitcoiners!
Him: @TaoOfSatoshi this is not an free advertise your alt coin post
Me: @AdamGuerbuez You seem a nice guy, and a fellow Canadian! I will ask you, what does #Bitcoin have over #Darkcoin, other than network effect?
@AdamGuerbuez I contend that #Darkcoin, with it's superior technology and committed development team, will be a future rival to #Bitcoin.
@AdamGuerbuez Research the tech that they are working on, and I'm sure you will agree... darkcointalk.org/threads/paper-… or darkcointalk.org/threads/featur…Lulz... EDIT: It gets even better! He blocked me! Sensitive much? Good work you got some mention of Darkcoin in front of him Tao. I wouldn't be too worried though. Just looking at his Twitter profile and reading through some of his tweets he appears to have a persona that's a mix of Kim Dotcom, Howard Stern and Cartman.

I know for lots of people it's all about the money, but it's sad to see former (maybe still current) Darkcoin supporters in the Spreadcoin thread badmouthing DRK (now that they own some SPR). I've invested in a lot of coins during this past year and made a lot of money doing it, never finding the need to badmouth darkcoin. Weird attitudes! Can't wait for 0.11

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash." - Child Harold - February 28, 2014 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg5424980#msg5424980

As an 80%/20% Darkcoin/Spreadcoin holder, and as someone who watched XC, Cloak, Vericoin, Monero and countless other wannabes come and go, I'm aware that Spreadcoin exists solely because of Evan's genius. I'm guessing there are some who probably are now very (IMO) unsmartly "undiversified" wholly into Spreadcoin or Darkcoin, which is causing them to be very defensive and hostile towards the other coin. Spreadcoin comes with high, high risks. If the premise works it should be high high reward, if it doesn't it's a bust. It all comes down to a person's risk tolerance. And anyone who claims with absolute certainty that Spreadcoin's dynamic mn's or Darkcoin's static mn's are the way to go is fooling themselves. JL

Can we please be clear that some Darkcoin supporters are over on that thread keeping up with their developments because anything they do better than us we can adopt into our code. Its also fascinating to see how no pools is going to work out for them. There has also been a concerted testing of the water throughout to gauge what their USP is. Its very interesting to see what will become of the first proper clone of Darkcoin. As for bad mouthing DRK, I haven't seen any of that yet and tbh if there is some of that going on and you don't like it then its easy enough to ignore users if you want to read the SPR thread.

I don't see much of a difference, both should work just fine? Just more hassle for SPR mn owners.

Hey DRKers what do you guys think of SDC anonimity? A link to be read is fine too. I've been around on their thread for a while and they claim their tech is way better than darksend, although once I read that the if the anonimization process happens off-chain is better than on-chain. I am not really good in cryptography so I cannot really understand their whitepaper. Cheers!
If the code is good and the sender and receiver use it correctly (i.e. they both avoid timing analysis), it should be as good as cryptonote coins (see a list of them here: https://cryptonote.org/coins/) as it uses the same ring signatures scheme. They are different systems compared to DRK for example, as they put their anonymity on chain, whereas DRK does not. It's hard to say which is ultimately better, as they are two ways of accomplishing the same thing. On-chain anonymity is susceptible to math breakthroughs and quantum computers which would allow breaking the whole chain's anonymity in feasible time. Off-chain anonymity is susceptible to sybil attacks. And of course, both are susceptible to design and implementation flaws (the chance of these flaws existing gets smaller and smaller as the time goes by).

I was unable to access the Darkcoin website today and yesterday. Is there any problem ?
Is there an alternative safe place to download the official wallet for Windows ?
