Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

This is the dump before the pump you bot owned noobs !

You've got to remember this:

For every sale, there's a buyer. Coin's are not being "dumped" in the sense of holders getting rid of them, they're being transferred.

It looks to me like there are about 50 times more buyers than sellers because the sell trades are few and huge whereas the buy trades are many and small.

What this means to me is that speculators are leaving the market and "users" are entering it, just as articulated in this post.

This is no bad thing if it's the case. For a sneak preview of what's happening to bitcoin, look at what happened to DRK last year. We hit nearly 500% of our current trading value and then consolidated to a point where the speculators (like mikethemike) left the market and only long term holders were left. Then the thread went back to its industrious self and the coin infrastructure continued to grow.

Bitcoin may stabilise in the early hundred's, the 200's or the 300's but what we could see now is the start of mass adoption for 2 reasons:

[1] - the mass of new smartphone gateways to bitcoin and new cryptocurrency markets that don't want to use banks

[2] - the commercial accessibility due to the low price (i.e. people buy it to use it rather than buying it as an investment)

Excellent analysis Tok. And the posting by justusranvier you referenced from the other thread has some good points too.

When you stop and think about what's happened in crypto since the bitcoin mega-pump of Nov 2013, it's really no surprise what's happening is happening. That sort of unsustainable rise is freakish and naturally attracts all sort of expectations of great riches and an "all-new-order". Then reality catches up and all the hot air escapes.

And I am one of these buying them left and right, sub $200.00 and will gladly keep doing so if BTC price continues to go down. Than, all of them into Darkcoins Smiley))

Love a good deal when I see one Smiley

It is strange that Bitstamp is leading the dump and not Chinese exchanges  Huh maybe Bitstamp did not tell us the full story about their hack?

And the poll itself! http://strawpoll.me/3402004

Um...just under 10K dumped on Bitstamp for the major drop below $200. Then subsequently it's been around 10 to 15K per hour since so definitely very high volume on Bitstamp.

I've just had a look back through the thread and I can't find the block number when the DRK block reward will be reduced.

It should be any day now shouldn't it?  Maybe 16th or 17th Jan?
