Just picked up another 1100. Current status: SMUG  Cool

Somebody hit my 1000@2.7 order on Cryptsy today. (I put it there after I sold during the pump.) It was already at 0.0029-ish when I noticed that.
I wonder if I should sell for 2.9 and place the 1000@2.7 back. Roll Eyes

I sold for 0.003 and bought back at 0.0027 Wink But I doubt I will be able to repeat the sell part today as well. The price didn't just fall a bit, it got massively hammered down. Some panic is imminent. Sad
I guess it's time to withdraw to a secured wallet and fire up that node.

Hashes @coinmine safe? Cant access the pool, but my miners getting accepted shares. Anyone to clarify?

there was a post earlier to say its now working and they are trying to get website going.

Thanks bro, do you know whats that 45.8% unknown pool at the pools hashrate chart?

It's not a pool. It's all the hashrate that comes from other sources, beyond the known pools. If you solo mine, if you have a big rig, if you have an unlisted pool, it's all in the "unknown" pie slice.

So someone is having almost 51% and is unknown to everyone? What gives?

edit: down to 34% now, but still..

So I PMed Evan about this, but I figured I'd throw this out to the community to see if you guys could come up with a solution.
.....
Let me know if you guys can think of any great solutions.

My proposal:
Sender has 352 DRK in his wallet and wants to send 31 Darkcoins to Receiver.

Sender sends 35 packs of 10 drk to the supernode.
Supernode shuffles everything and sends:
10 drk to Receiver-address-1
10 drk to Receiver-address-2
10 drk to Receiver-address-3
  1 drk to Receiver-address-4
-----
10 drk to Sender-address-1
10 drk to Sender-address-2
... x 31 such packs
 9 drk to Sender-address-32

The proposal above means that in EVERY TRANSACTION, all coins in the wallet get shuffled, and come back in packs of 10drk, into new addresses.
As for the the reminder coins, they get sent to the supernode mixer only when combined thet are >= 10 drk.

But as of yet we don't have a mechanism to generate or send to multiple receiving addresses (except by manually doing it which is not really feasable).  I don't see any way we can avoid implementing some sort of larger "Dark Receive" address, that is composed of many different smaller receiving addresses.

Solo miners have been appearing identified as "solo?". This seems to be one big chunk, like a private pool or farm.
But don't take my word for it !! But I have seen blocks credited to "solo?" up to now. "Unknown" is the first.

how many watts does 2 x 290 non x and 2 x 270x took on this coin?
Dont know about thoose but my 5x280x rigs pull 750w from wall mining drk.

how do u figure it out? do u use kill-a-meter?

2 x 290 = 600 for both

2 x 270x = 200 for both

600 x .50 = 300 for both
200 x .50 = 100 for both

400watts for rig , is that correct? since I think it is half of scrypt.
Yeah i use a killawatt.

Each 280x pull 280w on scrypt and 150w on x11. So it is almost 50% less powerdraw in x11.

No, what I'm saying is that this slice does not represent 1 person. It's the sum of all solo miners, fpga miners, large gpu rigs that mine without a pool, small pools that are unlisted, botnets etc etc. It just appears as a unified slice, however there is no single person that controls all that slice. It's fragmented to many smaller and larger parties.

This is very worrisome.
Look here: http://www.coindesk.com/things-alt-ponzi-schemes-blackcoin-usbs-time-warp-attack/
According to the article, the same type of thing preceded the Whitecoin 51% attack...
http://wiki.darkcoin.eu/wiki/Dark_Gravity_Wave
Quote
DGW or Dark Gravity Wave is an open source difficulty-adjusting algorithm for Bitcoin-based cryptocurrencies that was first used in Darkcoin and has been adopted by other digital currencies.
DGW was authored by Evan Duffield, the developer and creator of Darkcoin, as a response to a time-warp exploit found in Kimoto's Gravity Well while also trying to improve upon the way that difficulty retargeting is being calculated.
In concept, DGW is similar to Kimoto Gravity Well, adjusting the difficulty levels every block (instead of every hundreds of thousands of blocks like Bitcoin) by using statistical data of the last blocks found. In this way block issuing times can remain consistent, despite high fluctuations in hashpower.
Version 2.0 of DGW was implemented in Darkcoin from block 45.000 onwards in order to completely alleviate the time-warp exploit. Version 3.0 of DGW was presented in RC2 of DarkSend to fix issues with various architectures.
Several alt-coins have adopted DGW in order to prevent the time-warp KGW exploit
I understand that, but if an unknown entity gains 51% of the network it is dangerous whether they go with time warp or some other exploit.  I only linked the article to say that other coins have been attacked recently.
I think this is how they will do it folks.  Everyone talks about how it takes so much money to 51% attack and then double spend but really all you need is a well planned attack.  First you DDOS all the major pools at the same time and then you set your farms on the coin.  Then you can take over the coin!

Noone has been curious as to how the top pools with the highest hash rates have been taken offline yet the difficulty and total hash rate hasn't dropped substantially?  It's because it was instantly filled with the 51% attacker who is trying to break this coin as we speak!

TO SOLVE THIS EVERYONE NEEDS TO SETUP 1 or 2 P2POOLS AS A BACKUP IMMEDIATELY IN THEIR MINERS!  They can't ddos a decentralized mining network and that is the biggest and best reason why there is zero excuse for anyone reading this not to go setup a p2pool backup right now on all their miners.  The results can be disastrous if the supposed safe and decentralized Darkcoin is taken over and hacked.  Horrible PR as well.  IF YOU CARE ABOUT THIS COIN SETUP YOUR P2POOLS NOW.  Here is what you add to the end of your sgminer bat file to have a p2p backup.

your node probably finds one block per day or less. 40mins is b/c whenever any node finds a block you get paid.

Yeah, but p2pool, you get share. Solo mining, you dont. Could be days before a block. As already explained (and I stand corrected), it is the sum of all indipendant miners.

Definitely taking the time to ramp up p2pool before monday. It is already more profitable due to pool attacks.
