I'm not getting an error, my masternode is in the list on the mainnet, I just wanted to know what I need to do to test my masternode on the testnet? is there a different address I need to send my 1K to? is there any flag in the config I need to add?

Oh, I misunderstood. You would add testnet=1 to your configuration file and would need coins sent to you from someone on the testnet, sent to a new wallet.

What do you guys think about this pump?

Just thinking a whale is pumping the price and after it's enough he will sell his coins and remove buy wall

exactly! Because people who are buying masternodes, are not panic'ing, they're buying for the last 2 weeks period.

Whales usually have a ball friday before monday news. Between Sat and Sunday, dump

Yep, no way I'm touching this pump. I'm long Darkcoin and it's great but be very careful buying into these pumps. Buy support is basically ALL from ONE person with a huge fake wall that will get removed right before the bottom drops out.

Yes, you can tell by all the other times DRK has been pumped on a Friday then cratered...

Anyone have any experience with issuing visa or amex gift cards?

I was thinking it'd be a pretty sweet interim solution (until crypto is more widely accepted) if someone offered a service where you load a certain amount of DRK - or any crypto really - to a wallet in an online account, then you receive a visa gift card which you can use for fiat purchases at any location.  The service deducts the equivalent crypto amount from your account at the current exchange rate, plus a small fee.  You could just "re-charge" it with crypto from time to time when it gets low.

That is what I have been trying all along. I've managed to get the server solo setup going, now attempting the local/remote. So yes, I have been running darkcoind -masternodeaddr=SERVER_IP from the local daemon. Funded local wallet with 1k on address 0. Server wallet was deleted, peers.dat deleted both sides, and daemon updated (both server and local) to 0.7.0 - same problem

(Evan has since updated, but I'll do it tomorrow)

I want to set up a masternode as well. It looks like a majority are set up at Amazon and in the US. Where should I set it up to benefit the network/coin the most? Or does that not matter?

Outside the US would already be great.

Masternode location shouldnt matter at all.

If you initialize a Darksend transaction from China to Brazil, the masternode location is irrelevant. The voting system is not based on geo-/ip-information (i hope).

It's to bring some diversity to the network. What if Amazon has a problem and all its servers are down ? What if the servers in a specific country are shutdown ?
The probability is very low but the risk exists and it must be taken into account for the safety of the network IMO.

2nd croutonnode is up. Wink  And it's neither Amazon nor US. More will follow!   Kiss

Are you trying the home server route? Maybe when you've worked out all the kinks you could share your knowledge?  Smiley

No, this one is on a paid-for VPS, but it's cheap and kind of local to me. (For a very loose definition of local, but it's better than across the Atlantic. ) Couldn't get the remote wallet thing working this time so just doing it the original way with stupendously long passwords and scary voodoo incantations.  Cheesy

I'm going  to set up another tomorrow on my home box. If I get DDOS'd so be it, worst that can happen is my intertubes go down for a while, my home box is locked up tight, there's no danger of losing any DRK unless someone turns up and puts a gun to my face but they'd first have to get past the assault-crocodiles in the castle moat...

It's a small pump in terms of value increase (nothing like 5x-10x-20x in value like other coins, just +30-50%), but a relatively large one in terms of volume. Some whales are apparently buying like there's no tomorrow.

Regarding the fundamentals, Darkcoin moves closer to full implementation of DarkSend and masternodes payment. Make sure to update your wallet because there'll be a hard fork (since you weren't around to see the important info).

Please say "selling" when you are doing so. It is confusing and simply wrong to call it "shorting".
