So what ? A quote from a shady website (run by who knows) is a proof ?

OK, I'm out. And I will still keep part of my DRK, I'm not saying 'no' to speculation of course.
But readers of this thread - be careful.
There is a lot of aggression and offence here. I don't know why. Agression = fear. Fear of what? And also I know that it isn't like that with BTC, LTC, PPC.. and many other nice people coins.

Transmission over.
Best!

You will be back for the 1 DRK. I promise. You and your kind hang out here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=560138.0 There is no fear. Just entertainment.

Good luck to retards who got caught up in the FUD.

There are some people here which don't react well to some FUD being spread all over again by several people.
All the concerns and questions are being answered, no need to play the "aggression and offence --> fear" card.

No fear, just facts.

Wladimir J. van der Laan just said on IRC they would *for sure* backport Darkcoin coinjoin in Bitcoin once it's out.

He even showed it's a long discussed and anticipated step, linking/showing: https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/issues/3226

IMHO this is pretty big and bad news for DarkCoin.

If Bitcoin is planning to copy Darkcoin, that's great news in my book Grin When did that happen with an alt?

I doubt it'll happen though, unless it's done totally different. I can't see Bitcoin reward structure changing to 90/10 for Darksend nodes.

Hard fork Bitcoin to do this? Yeah right.

Giving the finger to regulators just before becoming legit? Yeah right 2.

Hi, all. New guy here to DRK.

I am curious as to what settings I should use with my i7 CPU miner?

Thank you much,
Griff

for the CPU i use minerd (on the darkcoinwebsite) without any additional arguments.
there is some room for improvement, but i need to be able to work on the computer at the same time.

Our Gridseed ASIC scrypt LTC mini farm mine is working hard 24/7 for DRK.

Every LTC produced is converted to DRK as soon it leaves the pool every 2 days.

Never image that Gridseed will work so hard for DRK.

I will continue doing that until Gridseed explode or someone cut my electric supply.

love it Smiley

Guys, gentle reminder, please treat any questions, especially FUD accordingly, as we have been doing for the past week.

Don't take bait, just clear answers, long exchanges are just muddying waters of development and technical discussions.

Totally recommend ignoring people like this, the pattern is simple:

1. Don't do research
2. Spread FUD you heard form a person on the internet that knows a person on the internet that is close with another person on the internet
3. Ignore any counterfacts provided by people that did research
4. Call every one blind and aggressive (while being blind to facts and research)

tl:dr: Please dont feed the trolls

To all the people selling Drk.  I realise the temptation to sell is great, especially if you bought at $1 or less.

However, before you commit that grievous sin and damage your future wealth, please do these logical checks:

1. Is darkcoin better than litecoin?

2. Is darkcoin current price less than litecoin?

If you answered yes to the above questions: WHY ARE U SELLING?!!!

Here http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=a_massive_investigation_of_instamines_and_fastmines_for_the_top_alt_coins& you can read:
"3250 blocks multiplied by 500 coins a block is 1,625,000 Darkcoins created between the times of 3:54 and 11:22 on January 19th, 2014". And today is only 4,315,600 DRK available supply.
And you are asking WHY ARE WE SELLING? It's kind of private money of fews who now manipulate the market. And you are asking why Litecoin is better than this?

I think Darkcoin is great for anonymity stuff, but wider acceptance by public and businesses will never happen unfortunately.
This is a pointless comment.  Drk does NOT need to be mainstream to have value because people will park their wealth in Drk (for privacy reasons) and convert to Btc as and when required for spending.

But I still hold part of my DRK... really.

But why are you lying to the people?? The proof/research:

1.625.000 DRK mined in one day (2014-01-19). OF COURSE IT'S NOT THE INSTAMINE hahahahah

Bye. Transmission over - waste of time. But people reading this thread - beware ;-)

[FUD]

You are repetitive, without substance.
This is no proof. This is stating the obvious facts, available from the developer and on Wiki.
Everyone knows that.

Worse, you're not responding to the rational arguments by other people, just inflaming people with less patience.

You are ignored now.

So why implement this? Just for the sake of being able to? Obviously ring signatures are desirable since Evan stated he will code them in, so why not just do this to begin with instead of Darksend?

Darksend is older technology. I'm not sure the idea of ring signatures was even around when Darksend was thought up. Also, one of the reasons Darkcoin is growing so rapidly is because people want to be Masternodes, further funding Darkcoin in the process. Had people realized this earlier, I doubt Darkcoin would have the success it's having now. To back Darkcoin up, there is a concern that ring signatures might be exploitable in the future.

Quote
If ring signatures will be an alternative choice for Darkcoin users, this directly competes against Masternode owners.

Which is why there is a growing popularity for Monero and Quazar coin. If anonymity is the objective, there are three services available now.

Evan said we "could" implement ring signatures.  Obviously they have too many issues, mostly bloat, and a lot of it.  So I think Evan continued on the path he was on.  And besides, Masternodes are going to function in many ways that haven't even been thought of yet.  And a lot has been thought of!

Decentralized blockchain server

possibly will run a decentralized auction/consignment house such as ebay or etsy
etc...

Actually, we need interested developers soon to take on projects!

Yea, It's annoying and tiring giving the same responses all the time..If they did research, they'd see, the devs sold their coins at 2 cents each, and even had to resort to buying darkcoins.

99% of those early miners sold off all their coins Early...Check the blockchain, check this thread, and check the altcoin trading section for proof.

There's no point in responding to those trolls anymore.

Answer their question once with facts and logical counterpoint.  If the response to that is more copypasta of their version of the "facts"... then make use of the ignore button.
