Watching the action in the cryptsy trollbox and there is plenty of chatter about Darkcoin. Mostly good, until I saw this

This guy is the trollbox moderator employed by Cryptsy. WTF is all that about?

edit...

this guy needs to be reported to a line manager

I don't get how people don't get the simple point that it is BLOCKCHAIN anonymity that matters. Who cares if you sell coins on an exchange no matter how much they know about you. The point is they can't trace the coins back to your drug dealer or whatever on the blockchain.

Without IP obfuscation, you are identifiable, so he is right. IP obfuscation is an essential component of privacy/anonymity, not just a "bonus". Yes, sure, blockchain transactions will be a fog, but IP analysis can give you away.

But no ones ever claimed that it keeps you anonymous on exchanges just that it keeps people from knowing where you got/sent the darkcoins to/from, which is the most important thing.

This concern will be mitigated once there decentralized exchanges operating.

What's the big deal with exchanges anyway.

1) Buy DRK.
2) Send to temporary wallet.
3) DarkSend to main wallet.
4) Use and enjoy rest of your life.

Brief flurry of panic buying just commenced on Mintpal.

After dithering all day around the 19 mark, the 15 minute MACD turning over to the upside seemed to be the last straw for some buyers who had probably been waiting for the 4 hour chart selloff to commence.

However they were wrong footed, because instead of dipping into the red zone, we doubled back northwards in a cruel act of deception which left a few beached whales in its wake.

The surprise turnaround - reminiscent of an 80's Maradonna swivel - saw the immediate placement of an 1867 DRK shot right at the top of the bid stack indicating that strong demand for this coin is on a hair trigger right now.

Even as I write, a 751 meteor has come hurtling in from nowhere to snap up any new liquidity that had seeped into the spread since the initial rally 10 minutes ago.

This is clearly a jittery market that anxious traders do not want to let get away from them. Despite that, that is exactly what appears to be happening.....ooops, there goes a 2020 DRK shot mopping up more of the asks already.

Looks like we have engine ignition.....

DarkSend for now can only be used for 10 darkcoins per transaction ? if i'm not mistaken that is..

The cryptsy guy talks about the IP that can be seen when you go on the third party website. Nothing that complex.
Moreover once mixed (first pool) I don't think that the transaction keeps the original data.

A beta test version of the Darkcoin Android Wallet can be found here:

https://darkcointalk.org/threads/android-wallet.383/

Problems and bugs can submitted on darkcointalk.org, with crash reports in the app or via PM.

This is awesome, I'm testing out a Darksend towards the wallet in a few minutes. Here's a screenshot guys, this is big! First X11 coin (as well as THE first X11 coin) to have an Android Wallet. Haters and clones can only follow.

Looks fine on my old GS2.

It wasn't so much that, it was a moderator giving technical opinions, in public, on traded currencies on their own exchange

That could be seen as influencing the market...good or bad impact on a traded asset, that sort of thing shouldn't happen. Need mods, to mod the mods.
