Hold approx. $4335K on masternodes now.

This means %14 all the coins.

This is an excellent thing.

Note: If masternode number exceeded 2000 in the future, miners will go crazy. ASIC manufacturers will explode for x11.

Isn't the maximum number of MNs limited to 2000?

I don't know.

there was an interesting answer a few hundred pages back.

Any news about the audit?

After all the anonymity enchantments are released as part of RC4. No real reason to review code that is still being aggressively developed.

RC4 is due at the end of this month.

+1

No point in auditing something that changes so often. At this point its still a matter of, do you trust the dev team or not?

Over the past couple of days, I've made huge leaps in the Darksend technology. In fact, RC4 will be the final solution to Darkcoin's anonymity. The client will automatically look at all of your funds and it will be able to tell which funds are not anonymized, if it finds non-anonymous outputs it will run them through a darksend with other clients. After that process, users can send without Darksend using the anonymous outputs for instant transactions without waiting for other nodes (with no upper limit on transaction sizes).

The other thing you're missing is that there is a reason I forked Bitcoin. Adoption for Darkcoin will be MUCH faster and easier for vendors, because all of the APIs are the same.

Expect more news in a few days. I have lots of work to do, but soon we can start testing all of this new functionality.

Evan's statement yesterday about the DarkSend  progress with RC4 and how adoption will be much faster due to levering existing BitCoin API's is huge!  He is on the right track and playing this 100% correct!

Value followed Bitcoin after it proved to be a payment system.  DarkCoin offering Anonymity propelled its value but it seems in addition to what Evan outlined wallet apps for BOTH Android/IOS are needed so the eventual mainstream adoption of Customer/Merchant adoption can happen.   Just think about how many Mom/Pop small business around the world do a cash business.  Keeping big brother out of there cash business is something BitCoin can not do but DarkCoin perhaps can.

It would be great if we could "elect" a portion of our MN Payout's  go towards R/D, P.R, ecosystem support and a Foundation etc so we can better secure this and get necessary resources.

Just my 2 cents.

Evan Duffield, you are my hero. I'm so glad I went all-in in DRK in February and kept faith in you and your project, even in times of despair, which, let's be honest, we've had a lot of. Grabbing popcorn to see how the end of this promising month plays out.

I'm still not satisfied with the number of MNs. Anything under 1000 is low.  Cheesy

The 4 Hour Bitcoin / US Dollar MACD has just crossed to the upside after 8 days in the doldrums.

With me not being one of those warped-logic types who thinks that BTC success isn't absolutely 100% helpful to the fortunes of DRK, I thought I'd just take a moment to celebrate this fact since we've waited a while for it to go green again.

Then there's this guy who got an 1170 BTC shot stolen - one of the biggest BTC heists in recent times it must be. They say that crypto is the "Wild West" - well it almost literally is now that there's a potential 500 BTC bounty for finding the thief.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=686275.0

I'm wondering if the nudge to the upside in the 4 hour chart wasn't Espirito Santo inspired.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-07-11/banco-espirito-santo-all-latest-news

That's the "platform' on which DRK is supported. Then there's developments in DRK itself:

 - we've gone a long way to winning the argument in recent days regarding the coupled / de-coupled strategy (I'd go so far to say it has been comprehensively won)

 - we've gone a long way to winning the argument on masternodes, demonstrating that there's no shortage of demand to fund and run them, that they have powerful technical uses way beyond servicing the anonymity layer, that their services cannot be reproduced by a wallet-based network and that currently represent the optimal balance of trustlessness and decentralisation

 - we've gone a long way to winning the argument on market viability. We've seen off nonsense about regulatory obstacles and demonstrated how the abscence of counterparties in all crypto places DRK in a category no different to any other crypto in this respect

 - we've articulated the market distinction between "anonymity" and "privacy", demonstrating that the "privacy" market is the critical one, being the single biggest area in which a transparent blockchain based crypto is not competitive with fiat

 - we've seen the "hiccups" of RC2 and RC3 actually deliver reforms way beyond what could have been envisaged without that bit of adverse experience. An expansion of the dev-team, revised and more robust algorithms plus a revolutionary failure-tolerant version release strategy

All in all, I can't see how any crypto could be more "on course" by the standards of its original objectives. Long may it continue.
