I can't remember where I read this but I think Evan said that it's possible to prune the blockchain by some methodology - has this been talked afterwards at all?
Possible, but still a very bad idea. I doubt very strongly that he will do such a terrible thing.

Looking good here - can use DS+ inputs (the other options work too), getting up to 7 rounds of darksend rounds showing in coin control, and the darksend status thingy isn't hanging around anymore, it whizzes through the process almost faster than my crappy eyes can see it.
Cand manually denominate any more but I don't seem to need to, the automatic process is happening pretty swiftly.
Good stuff! Fresh from the test forum https://darkcointalk.org/threads/rc4-testing.1830/page-31Just gonna round around screaming and shouting. brb

Hello, Guys, I received some donations for the work we have been doing for the new wallet GUI, I just wanted to say thank you very much I really appreciate the support. Thus, I have decided to pay it forward and send the donations I received to the development donations wallet. Can someone please post the development donations address I couldn't find it in the OP and thought it would be easier to ask?
pls check last sentence on page 1 where it says : Software development donations: XpAy7r5RVdGLnnjWNKuB9EUDiJ5Tje9GZ8 pls have this verified first by the Darkcoin Team before using it. Thank you, I don’t know how I missed it.

i remember some talk (not by Evan but here in this forum) about making the blockchain compacter (and thus smaller) with help of some compressing technology (kinda like winzip/winrar/cat&dat files technology) but i dont remember anything specific following from that.

Am I missing something or why is it a bad thing? 7. Reclaiming Disk Space Once the latest transaction in a coin is buried under enough blocks, the spent transactions before it can be discarded to save disk space. To facilitate this without breaking the block's hash, transactions are hashed in a Merkle Tree [7][2][5], with only the root included in the block's hash. Old blocks can then be compacted by stubbing off branches of the tree. The interior hashes do not need to be stored. A block header with no transactions would be about 80 bytes. If we suppose blocks are generated every 10 minutes, 80 bytes * 6 * 24 * 365 = 4.2MB per year. With computer systems typically selling with 2GB of RAM as of 2008, and Moore's Law predicting current growth of 1.2GB per year, storage should not be a problem even if the block headers must be kept in memory. DRK's value will be dependent on developing features beyond anonymity, which, as I alluded to, will not be a distinguishing feature from BTC with the advent of anonymizing wallets. I'd be interested to hear about some of these features that are on the development horizon.
Each master node is hosted on a server. So far, over 800 decentralised servers, with proof of their readiness to serve. What exactly do you want to host on such a decentralised platform? Decentralised anonymous corporation stock exchange? Decentralised markets? What do you fancy selling, or buying? Decentralised exchanges? Decentralised Enigma 2.0 messaging? Decentralised etc, etc Darkcoin will succeed and do just fine. Can you buy coffee, groceries, clothing and services with cash? Yes you can...we accept cash at our winery which is untraceable and decentralised. We also accept Darkcoin at our winery. Don't let those with an agenda provide you with FUD. As long as cash exists, which is also anonymous...Darkcoin can and will succeed.

Am I missing something or why is it a bad thing? You can't force old TXes to move forward with a lot of gyrating. Risks tossing someone's wallet if it doesn't gyrate properly... Loses the basis for trusting the chain; that it can't be fucked with. Best choice is to jsut not fuck with it and have an incentive for hosting it at a trustless decentralized places so that lite wallets don't have trustfail... You know, masternodes... What the BitCoin experiment lacks is incentivization for that which Satoshi could not be expected to forsee. DRK does what BTC does not; masternodes with flexible use. Still waiting on the IP obfuscation...

So, besides anonymity, in the future, the 800+ Masternodes are also envisioned as providing the basis for some sort of decentralized alternative internet? This is very interesting; I'd like to learn more. I'm not a technologist so please dumb it down where possible.

Total Masternodes: 844 = 831 actives + 13 inactives
If this isnt a sign of serious investment - I dont know what is.
Lets hope we can get around 1000 for RC4. Thats a huge milestone!

Getting to 10% of Bitcoin number of nodes in such a short space of time, with the requirement to have 1000 DRKs to get a node, that was the milestone. This is all just cherries on top at this stage of the game. If we had 10% of Bitcoin value as well at this stage of the game.......

Apple squeezed the internet down through its App store and made people want to use their ecosystem. Think DRK App store, only you don't have to ask Apple, you can go after the most profitable grown up stuff on the internet, and you have a eCash to use too. Stock up. You'll have plenty of things to spend your eCash on.

And integrating IP obfuscation shouldn't be too hard, if that's the direction Evan chooses to take. The sublimely bland beauty of RC4 first though.

Yes its clear that theyre working hard when reading the RC4 testing thread on darkcointalk.org, but an official update would still be nice.
i think it would be a good thing if somebody of the devteam could say a word or two how everything is going... Is the RC4 process on time?... Are things turning out as planed?... Sometimes it is just necessary to tell the people that everyting will be allright?.... Btw where are all the people that make this tread interesting?
yes, an official progress report update from eltito would be great. A small weekly update seems like a good idea in general. on another note, it looks like the cloak dev got my message and hopefully things will calm down now. the message was respectful yet stern.
