Cryptsy DRK wallet has been unavailable for withdrawal for days now.  This is starting to worry me.

Quote
Thank you for contacting Cryptsy.

We deeply apologize on the delay and for any issues that may have arisen due to this.
DRK coin wallet is still under maintenance and will try our best to have it back soon.
Our technical support team is currently working on this to upgrade and do whatever is necessary to keep these issues from happening again.

I apologize there is no estimated time given from our tech support. All transactions will be posted in order once wallet is up.

Sorry for the delay and thank you kindly for your patience. Will keep you posted as soon as its back online.

Thank you kindly for your patience.

Perhaps we should ask if they need some help from a dev?

I already retweeted it Smiley. Maybe the RollingStone tweet could give darkcoin some extra push.

Great.

We should also notice #MillionMaskMarch that's going on (and is trending) and also engage with them. They should be natural first adapters, no?

Their is a huge intensive for so called "Criminals" to use Bitcoin.

Violence in the black market is severally reduced because of 0 interaction.

This is very appealing to "Criminals" and they will fight to keep this method of purchasing drugs.

A part of that fight will be using Darkcoin.

Why? Because Darkcoin is actually anonymous...

Derps saying "Its bad for Darkcoin to be portrayed as a tool for drug dealers" are missing the point.

Drug dealers using Darkcoin validates to the rest of the world that Darkcoin does what it says on the tin. (PRIVACY)

Privacy is needed, and "criminals" must also be able to use it. Just like cash.

whaaaat? They just retwitted Wired's article and these folks have 4 million followers O_O

https://twitter.com/RollingStone/status/530034988662943744

Iam loving it ..... hope this increases the darkcoin value.

Actually it's the worst thing that can happen if you're hoping for mass adoption.  Being branded a coin for drug dealers is not a good thing.  But apparently that's the direction this coin is going.  Too bad.

Edit:

How many Rolling Stone twitter followers do you think are going to be buying drugs online?

What are you talking about? Majority of their fans are stoners lol

How many stoners are buying their weed online?

'Under maintenance,' lol. What are they doing, giving darkcoind an oil and filter change, gapping the spark plugs, replacing the cambelt?  Cheesy

A lot.  Online weed services started testing the water in the late 90s and were booming by 2005.  E-gold was a game changer and they started off in 1996.  I gather that many that partake in the herb choose to shop online.

Where did bitcoin start?

Comparing any coin to bitcoin is pointless.  No coin will ever follow the same path that bitcoin did.  Things have changed since bitcoin.  What worked for bitcoin is not going to work for a coin today.  You can't just say "remember bitcoin" and hope that darkcoin follows the same path to adoption.  It won't.  It's 2014, cryptocurrency isn't the same as it was when bitcoin was launched.

I've just replied to my helpdesk ticket and asked if it'd help if I got one of the senior devs to get in touch to see what the trouble is!  I'm sure flare could sort it in no time...

Unless flare can lend them all the DRK the Cryptsy house bots have gambled away, I doubt it...  Cheesy

Don't worry, as soon as they have botted the hell out of some other coin to make up for it, their Darkcoin wallet will magically spring back to life!

""The fact that 44% of respondents who had bought drugs online said they'd done it for the first time recently says to me there is growing recruitment," he said. "It is currently a minority way to get drugs, but it really mimics the growth in e-commerce – we buy things online becuase it is convenient, cheap, and there is a better product range.""
