This is grasping straws at a non-issue.

Only a third of stakeholders belonged to group 3 (only posted on NEM thread) but that's no indication that they're sock puppets.  There's many lurkers here who saw the message of NEM, signed up and posted to get our stake (me among them).


That being said - it was only a third of 3000.  Let's pretend only half of them are genuine sock puppets - that's still 2500ish unique persons with NEM stake, sure a lot better than NxT's distribution.

What did NEM do to piss off the NxT whales?      Someone needs to create a Hitler spoof video from the perspective of a NxT whale with an irrational hatred of NEM.

Most sock puppets are in group 1, so what is the point anyway? they got them (almost) for free. We paid.

NEM, the first cryptocurrency sent using a smartwatch.

A future headline? I just read that Google has come out with Android Wear, a Android operating system for smartwatches. Smartphones, smartwatches and smart wearables are the future. The wallet can be unlocked with its internal password safe or with facial recognition (PCA, Eigenface, neural net) or with a NFC ring. The camera will read the NEM address from a QR code and the amount can be entered through its touchscreen keyboard (10-key, minuum.com etc... ).

Is it difficult to get a basic NEM wallet running on a smartwatch?

For the record, I like the community as it is. Since it has a uniquely wide breadth and depth even at this stage and I expect amazing things from the community when the time comes.

Wouldn't a newer version be better? Think about cars, phones or computers.

here is my suggestion for the sockpuppets problem:
1) disqualify all the new accounts after January 21, 2014 and refund them if they did fund NEM project;and
2)  give those shakes to the real and important members of BTT, such as Hero Members or Sr. Members if they are interested in NEM project.
so we can get strong support from the community.

two principles of getting NEM stakes:
1) first come, first get(account before Jan 21, 2014)
2) no contribution, no stake.

please read what Utopian Future ( the actual person in charge of this project)   said about this issue earlier. Not gonna argue with u anymore and kindly stop giving principles to getting stakes  , people might actually  think u are in charge and needlessly get worried. Thanks.

question: i registered myself as one of the stakeholders on like the first page of when this coin was announced. I think it was 1 or 2 months ago even. When is this going to get released? I feel like this has been going on for ages

You seem to be misinformed. There is no common code between NEM and NXT. Aside from the "N", they're completely different.

Jaguar0625, I did not intend to sound critical with my use of the word 'clone'.

A better description for what you are doing might be 'remake', like with a movie, or 'cover', like with a song or piece of music.

There is room for deviation from the original.

I believe I understand what you are trying to achieve.

Our initial plan was to base NEM on the NXT code, which is why there are two versions of the NXT code in the repository. However, this project garnered a really large amount of interest and we have more dev resources than I expected. At this time, it is the consensus of the dev team to base NEM on some of the NXT ideas but write the code from scratch. While this will take a little more time and effort now, I think it will set up NEM much better in the long run.

The goal is not for NEM to be a NXT copy and paste coin. IMO, there's no value in that. With NEM, we want to take some of the best ideas of NXT and Bitcoin and create something new and, hopefully, better.

No worries. I just don't like using the "clone" word to describe NEM. There are a log of NXT knockoffs popping up, and I just want to make sure that everyone realizes that NEM is actually something new and different.
