Is it possible to earn something with ATI 7970 if I pay for electricity 0,07 $ / kWh ? I think that this is impossible and that I can not cover the cost of electricity. How then can you mining (whether someone will discover the secret)?

Well my 7970 is giving my around 23Mhs and when you put that in math it gives you around 28 ETH a month = 60$.

Just the one card? Are you running it just in your normal everyday computer?
Unfortunately, I only have one graphics card ( the other graphic cards I sold when decreased profitability of mining last year ). Does anyone know which graphic cards are the most profitable for mining and whether the nVIDIA good as AMD for mining Ethereum?

7970 is the most profitable card for mining Ethereum. The latest card Fury does not have significant high hashing to justifiy the price.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Most of the newcomers though are wary about the price hike as it would mean a sell-off will take place in a few days.

Can someone please explain how many ether are to be released.

1. How many are there out now?
2. And the total expected release?

This information doesn't seem to be made obvious as far as I can see at the moment.

Thanks

In ethminer.exe version 1.0.1 does not reflect the rate of mining. Once solved?

Simply use an older version, nothing has changed with hashing/mining since the 0.x versions

And the official miner is the fastest in the market. There is no optimised miner for Ethereum so far as I know.

Tricky to find an exact info but it was announced in Ethereum blog when the POS change was discussed.

To spare you all the necessary reading it should be between 90 - 100 million with maybe a tiny inflation rate of 1% yearly.

Thank you very much for the help.

The best I have found is that there was 60,102,216 created during the sale. And an additional 15,626,576 created every year. The information is from 2014.
Which was so many that I didn't want to buy to many.

But now this is changing to more realistic measures which is a pity it wasn't decided in the first place.

Yes, I agree. That was an old plan that was changed. With this plan, Ethereum supply was infinite and it made no sense buying Ethereum as an investment. I think Devs have realized the same thing, especially after their Ethereum stash has melted away after the price decrease.

Another thing is that infinite supply would work great for a smart contract platform but you are killing an investment and currency possibilities of the Ethereum. And why would you limit yourself like this, just in case that Bitcoin destroys itself as they are currently doing. If Bitcoin would destroy itself, something needs to replace it. With limited supply, Ethereum can ba a currency, investment vehicle, gas for smart contracts, etc.

 Huh

Make Windows sync with a NTP-server to synchronize the clock.
If your clock is off too much, you can't connect to other peers.

Maybe the developers could put up a message in the splashscreen, like "make sure your clock is in sync, otherwise bla bla bla".

Poloniex have ETH/USD exchange. Give it a try, their exchange is clean looking as well.
