Please clarify this, as this is the most important part of YOUR    Terms and Conditions.

It states that "Ethereum, has NO obligation to even  Complete the SOFTWARE"

Link 1: https://www.ethereum.org/pdfs/EtherProductPurchaseAgreement.pdf

IMPORTANT PART OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

 Link 2:  https://2ch.hk/cc/src/1406117429315.jpg

In simple  terms, it states that everyone should hand over their BTC, but Ethereum will not complete the Software?

Juaz! Epic statement.

They're just covering their asses.  When you do an IPO like that the SEC is gonna be all over you if you don't clearly spell out ALL potential risks.  If you look at the prospectus of any stock IPO you'll see similar ridiculous warnings.

The bitcoin it`s going down cause the Ethereum team it`s dumping all the BTC! They dumped 1,150 bitcoins 5 days ago when the price was $590, 1,350 3 days ago when the price was $550, and now they have dumped 1,237 more TODAY when the price was $510, that`s why we went down 500usd and we are going to $450... Fucking Ethereum, stop killing the bitcoin.

1. Bitcoin is down. You don't sell if something is down
2. Why the hell do they badly need more than a million at once?

If they dump that coins they will be bought by multiple people giving more value to bitcoin in the long run.

What is concerning - 25000BTC collected in pre-sale    and Still no response to any official questions " etheruem has NO obligation to even  Complete the SOFTWARE"

The big issue, They are asking for BTC upfront.
They are paying the legal team $3Million.....(Huh)
They have NO obligation to even  Complete the SOFTWARE.

ahh....what exactly is the payment for?

In the   Terms and Conditions.

It states that "Ethereum, has NO obligation to even  Complete the SOFTWARE"

This means....there is no responsibility on ETHEREUM to even complete the Software.  I am asking the questions, that needs to be answered. These are very basic questions before asking for everyone's BTC.

In the terms and Conditions it clearly states, "simple term" if we do not provide a software or even get it started, Too Bad.   If the only thing Ethereum is doing is "Covering asses"  who is looking after the investors  that will more likely lose 100% of everything Huh NO ONE.    Please read the fine print

Personally I find the fact they even bothered to write up a big legal wall of text shows they are serious about the project. How many coin devs here deliver coins that don't work as intended or just give up and run off without any form of warning? You think Evan Duffield will ever write up some terms and conditions for all the times he's messed up with Darkcoin?

This is just a legal "Cover our asses" in case the project goes sour. If it frightens some people off then don't invest.

Hi Ethereum Team, You should stop spending BTC from the genesis sale. Instead, buy ether at the end of sale and spend them when ether goes online. It shouldn't be a problem then.

just an idea, but downside, you would then hold 50% of ethers..  Huh

Guys, I was not joking. Can someone please explain what's wrong with the approach I suggested?
Don't spend BTC. Buy ethers now, spend later.

IMHO, Ethereum team / devs holding 50% (May be, 49%) is not bad.

Ether devs probably have enough.  They wanna diversify like everyone else.

And I'm sure they know BTC is gonna go way up next year so they're prefer to hold it mostly in BTC kinda like a savings account.  I would do the same.

Are you seriously expecting Ethereum not be spending the BTC 250,000 - someone has to pay for all the travel, hotels, lawyers, Merc, private jets, drinks and pizza....
spend the BTC and then ask for more later, if no one gives more BTC then apply the NO obligation to  Complete the SOFTWARE clause.   Angry

I asked the same question on reddit ethereum sub, I got this.

Quote
In your scenario they (ethereum team) would then have both BTC and 50% of ether...

but, they can donate BTC now or few months later..

Quote
They can't. Here is why: (taken from https://www.ethereum.org/pdfs/TermsAndConditionsOfTheEthereumGenesisSale-preview.pdf[1] )
18) EthSuisse Will Not Purchase ETH During Genesis Sale and Until the Creation of the Genesis Block.
EthSuisse warrants that it will not purchase ETH in its own sale. Furthermore EthSuisse warrants that it will
not purchase ETH from any third party, or acquire ETH in any manner, or acquire future control of ETH, during
the period of the Genesis Sale and until the creation of the Genesis Block.

they can buy at the end of genesis sale (over a year of time, or so) with all the BTC they raised.
