Good day all. And I am back to mining on waffle now that the DDOS and reconnect has been solved. I prefer to mine multiple coins and have given back 30% of my hashrate to waffle.

Another dumbass question: Has anyone run multiple instances of miner clients and had it stay stable. I want to use seperate cards in same box so I can try Vertcoin. I realize I might have to upgrade memory capacity for that box. I know cgminer has an option to select cards to use ... just have not dug into it yet and do not want to make my mining box unstable trying this.
I use a separate instance of cgminer for every card, it works fine. Just specify the device and device platform in your code. This is the only way to run different cards at different settings on the same box anyways, as far as I know. You will need to run "cgminer -ndevs" once to check what device and platform numbers your cards are listed as, then edit your code to include "--device-platform X --device Y" where x and y are the id numbers you got when you ran cgminer -ndevs in the previous step. For example, you might have device 0 and device 1 both on platform 0. I am doing this from memory, I can't get into my boxes at the moment to double check my code syntax so if I just made any errors please do correct me guys.

It is solved for anyone that patched or updated their mining software.

You will need to run "cgminer -ndevs" once to it is not the only way of running different cards (sg and cg-kalroth allows you to run any amd cards in one rig with one miner running), but it is the only way to distribute yout hashes among different pools like one card for vert, one for heavy, one for wp, one for cm, one for cs and one for ghio.

what makes you think that reconnect issue has been solved?
It is solved for anyone that patched or updated their mining software. This is a rather simplistic view, like many of your others. Where do you think that client.reconnect command originated anyway? It was not sent by your legitimate stratum servers, that's for sure. And not just anyone can send it, it must arrive on your open stratum connection, or forged to look like it, in order to be processed. Or the attacker must have been able to break your active stratum connection, or wait for it to break naturally, and then redirect you to a rogue server in order to send you that client.reconnect command. And if they can redirect you to to a rogue server, then you are still vulnerable, as that component of the attack has not been mitigated as far as we all know. They could adapt their attack to keep you captured there, instead of redirecting elsewhere. By reading your posts on the last page, it is clear that you have accumulated some knowledge of networking, but what you don't know you seem to fill in with speculation and guesswork, and then pass them off as fact. Others take note, that while he does sound confident that he knows what he is talking about, there are indeed several inaccuracies in his assertions. Hawking once said, "The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge". It is perfectly fine to admit that you don't know something. For only after such an admission is it possible to learn.

pretty basic stuff to see the traffic of all of your neighbores at your datacenter? i am probably doing something wrong, but i cant sniff anything from my datacenters. do i have to name the hosters to prove i cant sniff no one around me?
Most datacenters have their customers on separate VLANs, which would prevent this.

Hi! Due to the fact that the profits are a little down here on waffle, i have (epic) splited my hash power with Clevermining.
5 Mhash each one... Lets see who wins the profit battle...

I switched over last week wasn't covering my electricity bills.

I think there is so much disinformation, Flat out lieing, Tons of folks that have no clue what they are talking about but love to see themselves talk(Post) etc etc.. Maybe I am paranoid but I have been on the forum for over a year(Use to be another user until I got banned for pissing the wrong people off), and all I see is mostly BS and hidden agendas..

It is solved for anyone that patched or updated their mining software. What/where is this patch? It is not a complete solution, but it does help to a degree, if the next attack mirrors the previous one. Client.reconnect commands were included in the stratum mining protocol for a reason. The 'patch' to which you are referring is built into the latest versions of kalroth cgminer and veox sgminer. Just check their docs for use of no-client-reconnect option. But be forewarned, some pools might legitimately utilize the command, either now or in the future, so to enable it could break certain functionality. But poolwaffle has stated that he does not ever use it, so safe to use here.

This pool is a good example of how all other pools scam and take money off the top. I am EXACTLY averaging my hash rate that I'm supposed to (what cgminer says). All other pools are so scammy and either take your speed off the top or take coins off the top. This one may take coins off the top but it's nowhere near as b.s. as literally every single other pool I've tried, multipool or not.

I think there are far less obvious ways to for a pool operator to skim your earnings. I wouldn't be concerned what pool stats show as long as the payouts are good enough.

This is the best payout and realist pool. You're right, though. Some pool's say you'll make xx amount a day and then really they take 20% coins in the back end. I'm convinced at least 95% of the things to do with crypto currency are scams. Including exchanges, preorders for miners, etc. etc. They don't call it the wild west for no reason.

I don't know about 95%, you might be exaggerating there As for pools, since it is relatively easy to gauge performance and easy to switch to another pool, I doubt that major pools would be involved in these kinds of shenanigans, as they would lose miners very quickly. Just look at what happened during GHash.IO promo, Waffle DDOS, etc. Exchanges on the other hand... I'm pretty sure most of them are fractional, clueless re security, and exist mostly for pump'n'dump purposes. Yet people treat them as their personal wallets. Go figure.

OK thanks for the tips doing some reading of cgminer docs for the usage to mine with cgminer AND sgminer simultaneously on single box multiple GPU's. Hopefully VTC wallet will be synced up by the time I gets configs sorted to mine both scrypt and scrypt-n. I will solo mine it with 1 card until I find a good pool for VTC with some good hashrate. scrypt miner on first card will remain "quota" mining including waffle of course. EDIT: found a VTC market on coinedup I like their U/I and have been trading there for a long time Sometimes really slow but most of time acceptable, no problems to report and only 0.1% trade fee Nice! wallet synced up quickly and I'm not ready LOL.

Check out https://vertco.in. Solo mining might be tedious. vertco.in looks good after quick look at pool hashrate and quantity of miners, thanks. EDIT: have had decent luck Solo mining very low diff coins such as DMD. Have not looked at diff for VTC yet but like many have said here the ASIC era will destroy scrypt coins, time to move to ASIC resistant coins ... looked at diff for VTC 209+ not too shabby however 2% fee although they are DDoS protected. Will give it a shot instead of Solo. I think it was ThirtyBird who was working on a miner that could hot-switch kernels, this would simplify things greatly for mining both scrypt and scrypt-n coins on one pool ...

I was thinking whats the MH/BTC/ Profit ratio with this? say you want to chuck 10-14 x R9 290x at it
