What I don't understand: The rigs connect to betarigs. So betarigs knows exactly when a rig is responsive to the site. Why can the betarigs site not keep track of whether or not the rigs are connected to the site? And publish that info? Heck, even have an "auto extend" function.

Rig owners should extend for the downtime, that's at least what I'll be doing so my renters don't have to file tickets. Kind of a messy situation.....

I would, if I could see the hash rate charts, but they are gone.

I believe they'll be back up once the site starts running again as well. (they were before)

I'll be extending down time to renters, any idea how much time they've lost so far? I've been aware of the outage for about 3 hours.

Edit:  Would be nice to pause rental timers - in the event when the hosts stratum proxy goes out. @mrbodz - What can be done about the timers that continue burning our renters BTC?

Not sure exactly how long it's been. But I think the charts will come back up once Betarigs starts working again.

''9 minutes ago : We are currently experiencing issues  with our proxy servers. This is causing most if not all Rigs to be  "offline" If a rig you are renting has gone offline, please open a  ticket and let us know. We are working to fix this issue ASAP.''

added 6h to my rental, soon will be 7h

Is this website issue also causing all rigs to be shown as rented out? I'm not sure I understand how "packet loss" can do that.

The packet loss meant that we had to move server's since our current provider has given us 6-10 days to get it fixed. So we're in the middle of that migration to move elsewhere. (More like 75%. Rig's are now going to come online soon)

Transition pains is one thing, but what the hell?!

I set my rig to go offline on January 28th, and it has been offline since.  Until sometime earlier today, it became ONLINE - as in hashing away to nothing but rejects, but it still shows OFFLINE and not available to rent on betarigs.  Sorry guys, you've stolen my hashing power and thrown it away - this is costly and unacceptable.

we havent stolen anything. We dont have the ability to steal anything sorry to say. We can provide full logs upon request for any rig and its associated rentals.

the reason why your rig is connected but showing as offline is because the site cronjob's are still updating from the move. When its done it will show as online and rented if it is. For now it isnt hashing on anything but it is connected

Betarigs was my highest priority pool. You gave me the ability to take my rig offline and failover to my primary pool when I wanted.  Or go online and make my rig available for renting while I mined at my primary pool until you found me a renter - at which time you'd go alive.

Here, my rig was offline and not available for rent - YET betarigs went alive, causing my miners to switch from my primary pool to betarigs. ..to an unrented rig, just rejects. Stolen maybe a strong word, but your error caused my miners to mine to an effectively dead pool.  [Edit: for between 5-6 hours]

The way this upgrade was done. If the rig was rented then as the rental's we're re-added to the new system then the port would open up and it would connect the miner's to the renter's pool. This was neccesary in order to get all the rental's going again.

The system is now back online with the old server's being used at the moment. With the new one ready and waiting for DNS to be switched. I wll be giving 30 minutes to ensure that everything is working okay before i switch the DNS and this migration will be complete.

I'm very sorry to everyone for this emergency maintenance caused by packet loss issues at our hosting provider forcing us to move our system elsewhere. As a goodwill gesture for both our renter's and rig owner's there will be 0 fees on the site from the moment DNS is switched. until monday morning GMT.

How do we deal with our rig rentals.  Do we extend rentals? if so, when exactly did the system fail so I can ensure I my renters are compensated correctly.

1 rental reverted back a few hours. Another rental reverted back to the first day - which was 7 days ago. I can't honor all 7 days again, this problem began 24 hours ago. How do I move forward, without disturbing my customer? They're a regular, I'm sure they'll understand, but be disappointed none the less.

Edit: Anyone able to get http://backup1.betarigs.com/ working yet?

Ahmed, I'm sorry to say, but you're thoroughly full of shit. Why don't you explain what exactly is happening. Restored some old backup? I don't get why some of my rentals are set back by 2-3 days, and it looks like I'm not alone. This is not about lost packets, not about DNS, or some other excuse you're waffling here. You should shut it down, including stratum servers and don't start until it's restored to where the problem started, not some random point in the past. If you can't do that, cancel the rentals and start over. Deal with your renters out of your pocket, not at the expense of rig owners, since you already collected their payments. Discount on fees is not going to cover 3 days worth of revenue for me.

If my renters would like to reach out to for resolution outside of betarigs, please feel free to message me here. I'm unsure if messages are being sent/received currently via betarigs.com.

I just took my rigs offline till this is sorted out, betarigs can refund the customers for lost hash and pay the rig owners for the hash they provided up to the outage. I'll be back when everything is back to normal

no big deal, just chill and let your backup pool do its job

ahmed will figure it out

Ohhh that makes sense. Look at the ports. Ok, I see them. Ports are porting ... Maybe I should check if the IPs are being IPs?

Maybe a tad more detail... underline more too.

No, my rig was offline because I took it offline on January 28th via 'Do not allow renting of this rig' - and today, in the 'Down for Maintenance' state it was alive and hashing nothing but rejects for 5-6 hours.  Rig #9239, check you logs.  It wasn't rented, it wasn't available to rent.
