I had my first go of the new client today and the new information is brilliant, but still that fact remains its not going to be easy I fear.

well, giving the insight of where an hunter is going, you have a big help in planning your moves
e.g. when i play (not so much :|) i manage to collect some coin everytime, just tracking bots that are going to explode somewhere in the middle of enemy teams, positionate myself near the explosion range and as soon as they blow up, i send a priority move with a composite path to try to collect as much as i can

i keep even an eye on block time generation (often the new block comes after more than 30 seconds since it's generation) and in case i risk anticipating his destruction, starting from some cell away from explosion

and this is only the very basic stuff you can do knowing those informations Smiley

Ah there used to be some debate if the increased fee actually did anything different or not.

If that works in the client that's interesting too. Thanks.

blockchain download, zip split into 700mbchunks.. should unpack with 7zip/winrar or whatever.. https://mega.co.nz/#F!RIswlY4D!ElpdvLeCqM9y_UZ3FYpoEQ

probably can do a torrent in future

Can't open: file corrupted or wrong extension  Huh

Edit: You have to use File Joiner first.

You need repair your wallet Cheesy

how? is there any tools i can use to repair it

try renaming wallet, to see if it works without it.. if so, wallet corrupted, use a backup and remember never to force close the client.

its work with new wallet, but i got no backup of it. is there anything i can do to repair it?

you can use pywallet to extract your privkeys
you will need to check a guide how to use it as i have never used.
you need to set some switch so it can read the format- like you do with using namecoin with pywallet - i think
https://github.com/jackjack-jj/pywallet need to select the right value in "otherversion"
If get stuck let me know and i'll find out

--

Once we implement "the Cleansing" (disaster)  the game (human mining) i think will be much more fun.

--

We are also progressing well with centralized server (a service) and alternate game client, which will allow playing on any device in browser, android and iOS.
Probably we can work with Mithril Man to use the server with his client.. although when we implement pruning of the chain (after each disaster), it may not even be necessary.

i accidentally called it huntercoin.zip.001 etc .. but will still work

I did wonder from early on wether it might be practical for the game to scale in size instead of just the map become more and more crowded. That seems like an issue if you expect mroe and more players, especialy if some people have 100's of players as well.

just an update about my progress with the client

I want to introduce a big change: a new game interface
previous one had many drawbacks:
- very bad support for localization (no keyboard except english one, no support for extended chars like chinese, etc..)
- hard to implement complex controls like grids, etc...
- too much effort to create a simple window

during those days i tracked down my client usage.
there is a core group of player that keep using it but the ovarall count is low, too few players.
i tought about what could i do to spread the client around and i tought that lack of localization could be a cause (even if i think that the main one is that many players leaved this coin atm, but i'll be ready when they'll come back after pruning and disaster comes out, and blockchain size will not be an issue anymore)

this is why... i'm implementing a totally new interface, that will keep me busy for a while but will pay off, here just 2 screenshot about my new ingame wallet i've partially already done

i succeeded at implementing complex web interface into my client, and this is just the begin, i'm planning to port all the GUI using this new technique

as i said, it will take a while (well, not too much since i already spent a lot trying to figure out how to do the core stuffs, so now i should go smoothly)

this is a needed step even thinking about the next big step: bot implementation and army commanding inside the client.
I said needed, because those features will require an advanced GUI and now i know how to obtain that.

P.S.
in few days I'll activate the fee system, i need to try it out and the fee will be low, 1 HUC/day
i hope more players will use the client as long as i keep spending time, money and passion doing this and i hope community apprecciate the effort

P.P.S.
I'd like to have a feedback about guilds like the chinese one, i think that i can add useful features to people who works in team and i'd like to have requests and feedback

Thank you all developers' hard work. It seems that the copycat of multi-algorithm PoW coin MYR pumped recently, so personally I think HUC is undervalued so much. BTW, I suggest the pruning development should be the top priority for the development, and then consider the bot related matters. The bloat chain is a huge obstacle for the new players.

I'm not developing the official client/daemon, so it's out of my duty to work on the daemon and the coin core, my client is based on the service exposed by RPC, so I inherit it's behaviour
I agree with you about blockchain size problem and i'm sure they are working on fixing it, but the changes they are doing will take time and test, even if i think something will be out soon (not a full prune as first release maybe, but will be a start, partial pruning and disaster will be already a good improvement, waiting for the "final" pruning)

In my current patch under development, it will be dropped.  But if everyone agrees it should rather reset, it will be trivial to change that.

The crown has been in the same spot for a month.   Dropping it if there in a disaster will probably not change that.  I think it will make it more fun for humans if the crown reset to the middle or something so people could fight for it.  It's really boring seeing it in the same spot all the time.

More crown battles trying to get it back to the safety of a home base would be great! Smiley

definitely - after a disaster, crown should reset to one of the random locations in the central areas of the map.

Crown battles are the best - if you get the crown, and you have to go to work - you need to miss work Smiley

The time between each disasters is like an "Era" - do you think it should be called a Chron ?

Chronon = 1 Block - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chronon
Chron = Each cycle (after Disaster) - i.e. we are now in Chron 1.

A "Chron" sounds pretty technical and modern at the same time. I say you go for it. Keep up the good work!

Ok, I also like this behaviour better.  Will try to update my patch when I come around to it.  (Currently, I'm working on optimising performance.)

I like this, too. Smiley
