Have you seen my post? #5598
Do you have more details on what exactly does not work for you? Feel free to open a ticket at Github if you think it is a bug (and not a problem with a corrupt data directory or blockchain download from a third-party source). When I was on the "D" version has been doing well, then there was the "E" I downloaded it, threw the files in the working directory, and here I am! For 2 or 3 days I suffer = ( I tried to fix it ... I downloaded the latest blockchain, but the customer "E" does not recognize blockchain. Just RAM consumed 2 + GB (it seems to me, should not happen)

Can someone explain exactly how the disaster works?
I have the mithral man client and it says 75% of disaster. What does that really mean?
Disasters cannot happen within 1 day (1440 blocks) after the last one. After that, there's a 1/10k chance for one at each block. If this didn't kick in after 12 days, a disaster is forced precisely 12*1440 blocks after the last one (this is what huntercoin.info shows you). I think what the MithrilMan client shows you is the cummulative chance for a disaster until the current time. I. e., 75% means that - if you observe lots of disasters - roughly 75% of the time it will already have happened at the current point in time (relative to the last one). Note that it doesn't mean that now is a higher chance than 1 day after the last one - it is still precisely 1/10k per block (see "gambler's fallacy" if you are interested). However, since we're getting close to the forced disaster, chances are pretty good by now that it will happen at the maximum time. thanks for the explanation. the random disaster is a great feature. however, having a hard coded time limit and forced disaster does not seem great. would that not just drop players to 0 around the last blocks? why have a forced time limit? why not just let it go on with a) similar probability or b) could also increase probability of disaster as a function of time. most simply, after 12x1440, its upped to 2/10k... just thinking out loud... redbeans, i don't know but my instinct after reading the posts would be that 75% of disaster means: time_now = 12*1440*0.75

Is there a pause in the blocks being found or is my client just frozen? Nevermind working.

I dont have an SSD and haven't had it freeze once on me. I'm using the mithril man client. In the early days though, freezing would happen all the time. Its gotten alot better.

OSYA,
might as well just delete everything and start again. (save the wallet.dat file)
Download the client through the entire history of "E" starting with 0 ... Are you kidding me??? Do not see the point in these activities!

Download the client through the entire history of "E" starting with 0 ... Are you kidding me??? Do not see the point in these activities! download the new chain, and use new client. It will work. Huntercoin is still new - New on a 100 levels of New. perfection is the goal - but for now, corrupted chain or data is going to sometimes require you to redownload the chain (whether from one uploaded or from scratch is up to you). Probably you opened the client while it was "rebuilding" or "creating" some files due to some of the newer updates (which are aimed at performance and paving the way to future pruning). These processes can take several hours , so i'm guessing you may have forced closed the client during these processes - of course, maybe you didn't. Sometimes the client will "carry on" - but from my own experiences, forcing closing the client at anytime has a risk, and more so during the new updates.

Disaster is such an adreneline rush, never thought a game that moved so slow could actually be exciting. (The blaring air raid sirens on Mithril Man's client that woke me up, sure adds something)

Wasn't that something you were going to implament eventually?

I had it implemented in an early draft for disaster (before we switched to the "poison" version), but with poison, we give no special treatment to the crown. The logic was that if someone is bunkering near the spawn area, they will bank as soon as poisoned to secure their coins - then the crown will reset anyway. And if the crownholder is somewhere on the map, then the crown is there to be hunted for anyway. The latter seems to be what has happened now.

not many at all although i think there is some calculating errors on block explore - it's currently showing 7.34GH/s -- sometimes 10GH/s.. f2pool stopped mining scrypt atm while we try to resolve some issue they are having. but - if you have the knowledge, you can merge mine huntercoin at the same time as the other scrypt coins and the little amount you get will be for free. You can probably mine with f2pool (once issue sorted) and get litecoin + huntercoin at the same time. Once we get over some of the technical hurdles we will promote and try to support mining pools wishing to merge mine -- currently there are virtually no scrypt merged mining pools.

Myriadcoin is very soon releasing a pool called polymyr, which is all about merged mining other coins with their five algos, so they will be offering merged mining for huntercoin on both sha and scrypt. See here for details: http://myriadplatform.org/polymyr/
