Wow, took 2 hours to take effect. That was a big hurdle to overcome. Eligius blocks are generally much "cleaner" than others, as spam transactions are filtered out.
|
Mining for fun.

Seems someone doesn't like that Eligius finally ended that long round and has decided to try and DDoS the web server.
Stats are fine. Front page (different smaller server) is having a little bit of an issue, but... no one really cares about the front page anyway.

Oh, looks like we got another ransom note. lol. Ticket #563920 User: 181mxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Email: jessicawise2358@gmail.com"Your site will be undergoing DDos attacks today. If we do not receive payments of 2 BTC to this address: 181mxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx we will not be able to stop this attack. When the payments are received the attack will instantly stop." Oh well. I wonder if these people will ever realize that Eligius is a zero fee pool that basically has no income, run by volunteers and donated hosting? Guess that's just wishful thinking. Carry on. Edit: Edited out actual address. I don't want anyone actually paying this guy.

Under review. Eligius uses a modified version of bitcoind, so these patches aren't usually plug and play. Rest assured I won't let Eligius fall behind the network on things like this though.

Sad to hear the extortionists tried their ddos attack on a pool like this, thats like trying to rob a volunteer of some sort. It really reminds me of my younger days when I use to lurk around on some hacker boards. The general consensus was that ddos attacks were carried out by low life script kiddies who are unable to hack and they have no authority in life so they try to impose their authority on-line. Appearnatly those script kiddies still have zero hacking skills, are losers in life and have become extortionists now

what ever it is (ddos) its is allowing the other pools to finally get blocks. Antpool seems to be winning? Don't worry still here mining glad to see your pool configuration is designed to work in these strange cases.
LOL on scratching head
