Heavycoin GPU miner updated on hvc.1gh.com, hashrate improvement >30%, please upgrade.

Awesome - R9 280x at stock clocks jumped from 10.5MHs to 15.5MHs with less than 15% more power consumption

Care to share your settings? I have two 280x and only getting around 12.5 MHs...

Replace the content of start.bat (or whatever You name it) with this for 2 VGAs:

Code:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

cgminer.exe --heavy --vote ***yourvote*** -o stratum+tcp://hvcpool2.1gh.com:5333 -u ***yourwallet*** -p VIP -I 8 -g 1 --gpu-engine 1100,1100 --gpu-memclock 1500,1500 -w 64 --auto-fan

You may also try to to use --gpu-engine 1200,1200, but its quite unstable for me. Also I don´t know if VIP pass is good for just 2 VGAs so You may try to put it off. Hope You don´t try this with crossfire..

Don´t deal with crappy shitcoins and stop wasting electricity
Support real science instead

@reorder

I connect my rig through stratum mining proxy to 1gh because of the bad latency. But I get below unknown error:

http://hvc.nonce-pool.com st. Share (done: 240.79%)

Been like this a large portion of the day.  Is it just really bad luck finding blocks or is it possible today or is there something else going on?

Earnings are only about 1/3 to 1/4 what they should statistically be.

The market is depressed because of yet another fake announcement from China about a Bitcoin ban, that has already been withdrawn. Conveniently, they waited 6 hours before withdrawing the statement.

The price now is barely above IPO price so I see no reason why anyone would sell now. I just spent my remaining BTCs to buy in. Even if manipulators manage to knock it down a bit further, it will bounce back. In only 4 months the block reward is dropping to [1, 8] range and I am very curious as to what will happen then  Grin

I browsed every single bitcoin news web and did not find anything about that statement to be confirmed fake.. Did I miss something?

The news is almost confirmed. The govenment file is real but not yet published with some unknown concerns. The reporter has big govenment background and her father is ex-financial minister.

ZHPool is working again and it looks like all coins were paid properly.

Nice!

How can you get this? My balance is 0 and lost the income of 10+ hours.

We never have any security or performance issue

But, we had change some scripts and try to enhance the payment and statistics, but the new scripts somehow stuck

Anyway, we return to the original script now

So, are there any good Profitability calculators for HVC out yet?

Just use calculator or a spreadsheet
Your MH hash rate / Total MH hash rate * 30 (block per hour)  * 24 (hours per day) * 577 (coins per block)

For example if you are doing 50 MH and current "global net hash" is 57.49 GH (or 57,490 MH)
then 50 / 57,490 * 30 * 24 *577 = 361.315 coins per day

361.315 coins per day * 0.00004188 (mintpal HVC to BTC exchange rate) = 0.0151318726735084 BTC before 15% commission

0.0151318726735084 * .85 (100-15% commission) = 0.0113489045051313 BTC

0.0113489045051313 BTC * $509.0 (btc to $) = 5.776 per day (btc rate to $ from http://preev.com)

There you have it.

Carlo

PS super easy to input this way into a spread sheet.

PPS take note the 577 coins per block will drop to 548 shortly.

To really get an idea how much you make or loose per day you should have a watts up watt meter and calculate your energy cost per day at the wall.

Obviously minus energy costs from profit above to determine profit/loss margin and when to move on to different coin or not mine at all until diff drops and becomes profitable again.

Worth noting in reference to last post.

You also have to keep in mind what you think the value of the coin will be worth in a week/month or 3 months.

Today was really bad.  BTC is down and so is HVC price compared to yesterday.

The example I just gave where you make $5.77 per day could have easily been $8 per day yesterday.

So you have to assume some times it's worth it to mine at a loss (today's costs) if you think the coin is worth more tomorrow/next month etc.

Really all depends on your strategy.  Do you want to mine and convert right away (like the multi-pools) or do you feel comfortable holding a bit until prices go up and then sell?

Really no different then the stock market.
