LOL, Wow... I leave for a few days and return to find the trolls just running a muck!

Was this Stratobitz guy's account hacked or something??

No way that's the same guy... just look at his previous posts.. Talk about an attitude change. LOL

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=133854;sa=showPosts

Reality check.. HeavyCoin is the only coin to come out recently sporting serious innovations.

The future is bright and filled with many many "Alt Coins", and HVC is definitely one of them... Just give it some time and don't keep letting these trolls buy cheap!

totally agree brad, this is just panic from china pushing bitcoin down. It will recover significantly in a week or two as the community finds ways around the Chinese goverment. In the mean time hold or maybe buy more Wink

Hey guys,

I'm trying to set up heavycoin mining on my rigs, but for some reason I cannot get cgminer (heavy) to start on the bamt distribution.

I compiled a heavycoin cgminer and replace cgminer (scrypt) binary from /opt/miners/cgminer/ by the cgminer (heavy) I just compiled. In /etc/bamt/, I adapted cgminer.conf to the heavycoin pool I chose and added ""heavy" : true," to the config.
Then when I type "mine start", no error shows up, but on the web monitoring, I can see that mining does not start (0% GPU load).

Anything I missed? It's actually the first time I'm trying to set up a different miner on bamt

Thanks for your help. Can't wait to mine some heavy Cheesy

Hi mightyshibe

welcome to HVC community.

You may missed 2 thing

1. add "vote" : some_value(0~1024) to your config
2. copy all .cl file into your cgminer folder

you could download a sample config file from http://heavycoin.zhpool.com/index.php?page=gettingstarted

from reorder (maker of the miner for amd):
Will there be a HVC miner optimization for non-GCN cards, ie. HD 5850, 5870, 6950, 6970, etc? They run slow, barely 4 to 4.5 mhs.

For HVC, probably not, unless AMD fixes their compiler for VLIW, which is unlikely.

Looks like AMD isn't focusing on improving VLIW any time soon. Mantle and the open API is their focus with the GCN technology.

EDIT: Troll quote purified at lot of requests

Replace "HVC" with "BTC" and pull time back 3y. And yes - I can compare this two coins, since algo of HVC is unique as BTC algo was that days. And btw. Wellcome to my ignore list  Wink

Don´t deal with crappy shitcoins and stop wasting electricity

But keep digging. In the mean time I'll be dumping 3-4 BTC of HVC into Mintpal each week, selling at going rate, but it always pushes it down, and then soon I'll stop, and by then the coin will be worth zero.

Thank you for dumping HVC to Mintpal at good price. I keep buying those and holding like crazy BOSS!!
