Everyone I'm currently working on a possible collaboration to further promote Heavycoin. I personally think it could be a huge success but it does require a donation being made to make it happen. I have contacted a gaming company to gauge interest on their end, but for transparency reasons I wanted to make everyone aware and get your opinions regarding this matter. I haven't received the company's reply yet so I won't go into too much detail without their response and blessing.

How would everyone feel contributing to a kickstarter with the possibility of integration of HVC into a game?

I'm of the mind we could use this as a means to gain further media attention as well as give even more real world value to HVC.

Please share your feelings regarding this, there are many directions we can take, but it is up to us to make our path to adoption.

Did you post this on the correct thread?

They just had a N-factor change which lowers everyone's hash rate due to more memory requirement.

Vote for low block reward, extend the mint phase. The coin gives us the control, just gotta convince everyone....

the whales don't want that, because they want to mine more coins first, then when the mining phase is nearly to the end, they will vote to 1 to increase the price and dump their shit

decentralized my ass

i'm still waiting for a truly decentralized system

decentralized my ass ......

that cracked me laughing ......

Everyone please read my comment above, I would like the Heavycoin communities input on my outreach. I can do this stuff alone, but since HVC is decentralized I would much rather hear some peer input.

Everyone please read my comment above, I would like the Heavycoin communities input on my outreach. I can do this stuff alone, but since HVC is decentralized I would much rather hear some peer input.

my personal opinion is that its a bold move, but perhaps too big / too much... like HVC isnt even known about AT ALL comparatively.. Imo ithat could be something for someone like doge, or litecoin, and of course btc to do, but seems to be jumping a lot of steps for a new, unknown coin without any other reach - i.e. u cant spend it anywhere else (really), its only on a few of the smaller (well, actually decent) exchanges, its not talked about on mainstream digital currency news sites.. yeh, just seems a bit of a jump for me personally..

.. and risky? A LOT of time, and further $$$ INVESTMENT required (from who?) and then the time delay between game being developed getting released - will it even be popular / mainstream / "a good game" - a lot of risk outside our control?

How do other coins get off the grass roots status and get growing and get respect? What are the smaller and then middle sized jumps to getting basic promotion? I'd personally just love to see HVC being written about and shared on a grass roots levels - more free faucets (or get on that free daily QoinPro site perhaps , more mini bounties for sharing tweets, more reaching out into other forums about mining and alts, facebook posts, thunderclap is a great idea, I'd love to see articles on popular crypto news sites and blogs, to highlight and publicize the benefits of the coin for mining and gpu, being cool running and energy efficient

I just love a multi angled approach and its how i run my businesses - many many baby steps going on consistently, basic baby steps i can take every day which build and build and add synergy and really add up rather than a risk on a big project especially for such a young company/(coin)

It's difficult to say without those details Smiley

The idea of integrating a cryptocurrency to a game (think candy crush, angry birds and the like) so the coins can be used to purchase game rewards, and so the players can be rewarded with coins when a special achievement is unlocked, or simply for playing enough, is good enough and has been brought up other times in other cryptos. The difference lies in the complicity of game developers for full integration.

I only hold around 30K but would definitely contribute to a kickstarter provided enough information.

And it does not seem such a "big jump". Games use their own tokens and currencies already, which only have a value inside of the meta. Using a cryptocurrency will only expand the game meta, as far as the game is concerned. Wouldn't it be actually more simple and manageable if the crypto doesn't have a big spread yet? I wouldn't rule out initiatives just because they go beyond the usual promotion basics.

It would be nice to see some sort of api or similar developed with HVC. The easier it is for game developers, merchants and so on to integrate HVC into their apps/software ect. the quicker HVC will spread and be adopted. For example Facebook is huge no denying that, and if an interface was developed allowing easy integration with Facebooks developer channel then that word increase awareness/usefulness of HVC and so on. There are massive easily targeted users bases out there HVC just needs to tap into those user bases.

Even an app that allows users to purchase HVC would be great. Most everday users don't want to get involved with exchanges and the likes. Recent media on exchanges doesn't help that cause either. HVC needs to "GET NOTICED". Bloggers, forums crypto news sites ect. Media are always looking for the next hot topic, create the buzz and they will flock to HVC.

The average Joe needs their hand held when it comes to technology. Series of professional quality tutorials and guides regarding anything to do with HVC (wallets, transferring, buying/exchanging, paper wallets and on and on).

Charity, always a big hit with the general public all the while helping out for a good cause. Look at Doge and the whole Olympics/Bobsled charity event.

At its present rate of mint, HVC is moving way to fast for baby steps. It would really benefit all if we put the brakes on this and drop the mint rate to 100-150 max and preferably 1-8 max.

If the HVC community voted the next block reward to 100 or lower it would generate a huge amount of attention. No other coin has allowed for such a possibilty.

Miners, this coin will make you more profit than any other coin in its price tier, currently $0.015 usd. If you mine any other coin that has a value of $0.015 usd your profit margins are lower because of increased energy use. Until someone creates a more energy efficient coin, HVC will always make you more.

I don't even have to pay for electricity and I still choose HVC over the others due to it's long term potential.

Are you guys watching what's happenning with BlackCoin right now? Can we expect such hype to happen to HVC anytime soon? I start to feel HVC is not that unique as we all try to believe.

A couple of you nailed it as far as what I'm pushing for us. This is just one game company, but I now have a good email template to test the waters with many more.
And it doesn't stop there, whether we like it or not Dogecoin did set the bar high for charity. This doesn't mean Heavycoin cannot make it's own impact as well.

As suggested we could get HVC integrated into a game or help fund science or medical goals. There are so many possibilities to show off our currency and grab media attention. As I stated before these kind of things require us as a community to achieve, trust me if I could fund these projects alone I would Smiley

As it stands we can achieve smaller goals and yet gain so much. If we want articles about us from media like Coindesk it is a lot more helpful when I can submit our coin information AND a nice little story about how we banded together to help fund a good project.

In regards to donations I'm not even talking a ton of coins per person, maybe 500 to 1000 from all of us that would contribute to the greater good of Heavycoin's future. Once I get a few possible causes attention I will post them here and we can do a poll vote to fund the most desired. This also aligns with the democratic core of HVC.

We are close to our goal with the HVC Thunderclap see gpools last post above for the link. Also please (cannot stress this enough) go here http://www.reddit.com/r/heavycoin/comments/21z8v4/moolah_is_the_future_of_digital_currency/
And read my post then submit our request to Moolah. Digipay is almost out of beta, we need this priceless feature to gain instant real world use on any merchant site. Do you want to spend your Heavycoin at tiger direct or newegg or amazon?? Then do this!

Happy mining and trading everyone,

Your humble marketing team.

Simko this is something I've been talking over with Keccak, its an amazing idea. The issues are this, it requires the whole community to do, we need a very very trusted team to handle the distribution of HVC and allocation of btc to play the market. It just requires some serious trust and teamwork. Plus we need a pool dev who is able to handle this coding wise to make it all happen.

I would 100% support this idea but unless people step up and say, I can handle this aspect or that we can't act on this.

If people want to discuss the possibility of creating this type of thing for HVC let's get some ideas and crew who  can handle it code wise going.

(For those who don't know what the heck we are talking about read the FAQ here, this is an example of the pool we could make for Heavycoin http://blackcoinpool.com

+1

Edit:  Don't like repeating myself...  but 1024 was/is too high of a maximum allowed vote...  what a shame...    Cry

it is worth repeating. We as a community can still correct this tho.

Honestly, it sounds like life support for a coin that got mined out before it could catch on. Why wouldnt you mine coins with more value and buy BC if you wanted? What happens when a coin you are mining for them gains value, but all you have is a bag of BC? No thanks.

It's not that simple, they take the mined coins pay out in BC but then use the profits from said mined coins to then buy up BC on the markets. It's a multistage process, basically it creates constant buy support. Here is a normal day for blackcoin on Mintpal
24 Hour Volume:
364.171 BTC

This is 80% of the BC multipool buying up blackcoin to sustain and drive it's price. If you watch it daily you'll see the btc volume is always ridiculous because of it. They then take the BC purchased and distribute it like a cycle of events to the ones mining their multipool.
