The Gujarat team is in very good form but they lost badly against Chennai. Every team in the knockout round is strong enough. This is why it is very difficult to make predictions about knockout round matches. It is not possible to say with certainty which team will win.

But we have to accept that Mumbai Indians have fielded the best batting lineup.

In the last match we saw Kamrul Green score a century. If Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan can make a good run in the opening pair in this important match then it will be much easier for the rest of the batsmen to bat later.

Not sure if overconfident was the main reason as no one takes CSK that lightly. It was just a complete batting failure at a crucial time.

We all know Gujrat is a batting powerhouse and balanced team so call it an off day with the bat and it came against the Champion team.

It was surprising to see the top ranking team imploding against a sub-standard bowling attack being led by inexperienced youngsters such as Pathirana, Deshpande and Deepak Chahar. And I don't understand the point in sustaining with the 38-year old Wriddhiman Saha. He has scored a grand total of 26 runs in his last 4 innings. Ideally they should replace him with Srikar Bharat. And in case they can find another overseas slot, then Matthew Wade is going to be an excellent option. Bharat didn't got a single match in this season of the IPL so far.

Deshpande, Theekshana and Matheesha might be inexperienced in comparison to Gujrat's attack but all of them bowled nicely throughout the tournament. Deshpande in particular is quite expensive but at the same time, he's also taking a load of wickets.

So far Saha scored almost 300 runs this season and 3rd highest for Gujrat so i think he did justice to his selection.

I can agree that Matheesha Pathirana had been exceptional in this season for the Chennai Super Kings. And maybe we can say that Maheesh Theekshana did a decent job. But Tushar Deshpande? This guy has an economy rate of 9.61, despite bowling most of his overs in the initial powerplay. He has picked up a good number of wickets, but most of these wickets have been those of tailenders. Compared to Deshpande, Matheesha Pathirana has an economy rate of 7.72 (and this is despite bowling almost all of his overs at the depth). Maheesh Theekshana and Ravindra Jadeja also have economy rate of less than 8.

Since Mumbai Indians' bowling line-up is a bit weak, Rohit Sharma should have taken the fielding decision first as they have good quality batsmen in the team, so playing with a run target would have been more successful. And one more thing should have been thought as Krunal Pandya has captained only few matches this season so it would have been difficult for him to captain well in the second innings and his decision could have gone wrong I think Rohit Sharma should have used this opportunity.

Because the team has been under wicket pressure since the beginning and even if it collects around a century, if Green stays on the field, there is definitely a chance for Mumbai Indians to win. But Lucknow Super Gaments bowling line and batting line is quite strong. Because of which today's game will be very tight as everyone will try to survive for the next match. If they lose today, this team will have no chance so of course the best performance between the two teams will have a chance.

Edit: MI bowlers bowled well for sure, but they should thank LSG batsmen for throwing away their wickets thanks to so many run-outs. Stoinis getting run-out was the turning point.

I do not think that there is anything for Mumbai Indians to worry about at the moment. The way they are batting 190+ runs are still on the cards if not 220+ score.  Make 10 or 11 runs an over and Mumbai Indians can reach this target. Then they have to bowl well. put the pressure on Lucknow Super Giants and the game is yours.

Even if Mumbai Indians end up between 170 to 180 runs, Lucknow Super Giants would have to chase this score. So the game is on and right now its hard to predict who could be the winner of this match.

CSK won last night despite scoring 172 runs and Mumbai has 182 runs on the scoreboard so there might be some chance but the problem is that MI's bowling is kinda inexperienced and seems weak on paper.

In most of the Matches of Mumbai Indians one of the player used to hit big runs and the contribution from the rest adds up to a big score. Today there is no big scorer. On an average every player had their contribution, and the same helped the team reach 182 runs which is a good target. Now the winning of Mumbai Indians is in the hands of bowlers, Lucknow have got a good batting line-up, yet that looks to be breakable as it is a pressure match. Bowling with good economy at the middle over matters, if Mumbai Indians were able to do it then this is going to be win for Mumbai Indians.
