Turkey-Italy is the opening match of Euro 2020 and will be played tonight at 9pm CET at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
Turkey is a balanced national team and must be faced with great respect. Trained by Senol Gunes, already in charge as coach in the early 00's, they can count on important players. Three out of all, the Milan player Calhanoglu and the two Lille guys, Burak Yilmaz and Yazici. The last defeat came in October, while recently there have been 2 draws and 4 victories, one of which with Holland (4-2) in the qualifying round for Qatar 2022.
Having said all this I believe tonight Italy will win by one goal.

I doubt Czech Republic will beat Spain, Germany & Portugal. Like England I think they will make it out of their group but it will end there. England will probably face one of Portugal, France or Germany if they finish first and I doubt they'll beat any of them.

I totally agree here,,, Czech is not as strong as they used to be and England is full of stars,,, but nowhere to the level of experience like Spain or Portugal even. I like the team, very young mostly but they will not beat the wily teams of Spanish/Portugal or technical might of Germany or silky skill of French.

I think that's true because the quality of the players the two countries have is very much different. Italy is more favored if the quality of players into consideration. But in football, things can still be different when an unseeded opponent can create more chance to score.

That's a small amount for a team whose players are superior to their opponent. Maybe I would have thought the score would be above 3 goals.

Italy has shown in recent games that they have recovered after missing the World Cup in Russia and have rebuilt the team. Faster than I personally expected. I thought they might need 4-5 years before a generational change took place. Turkey on the other hand has not performed well, so these odds are justified and Italy is also the clear favorite in this game.

Except there is an upset in the match between Italy and Turkey the pundits, analyst and odds favors Italy to win however I won't rule out an upset today, Turkey can spring a surprise although with the calibres of quality players that Italy is lining up today Turkey might not stand a chance of wining however any flop or mistake from Italian team can be capitalized and utilized  by the Turkish team to score and defend it well till the end of the game being the opening match it is going to be competitive.

Pretty much the same for me here. I would consider myself as a football fan but i am not that interested in my national team (germany) as i am in my favorite football club (bayern) i don't know why that was always the case for me. Of course i will watch the EURO because i watch most good and big football games even if my team is not part of it, but to be honest if i would have to chose i would always pick another Champions League title for bayern over another WC or EURO trophy for Germany.

This year, I think many teams will play that way. They want to minimize the physical wear of the players after a very stressful season.
