They could play that game in the first half and then see if it will cost City a lot of strength in that first half. then you could consider playing on the attack in the 2nd half if the score is 0-0. Atletico don't really have a choice either, they have to win with 2 goals, so they will have to play offensively.

They can pass the round with 2 goals, but at the same time, they should not concede a goal. Atlético will probably look to keep the score if they take a 1-0 lead. If they take a 1-0 lead, trying to find positions in the City defense with counter attacks remains the most logical option for them. But of course they need to score at least 1 goal for this plan.

Do you think it is possible for Atletico to score in this second leg? Because even Atletico in the first leg really didn't try to make an attack which means Simeone really admits that Manchester City are a great team under Pep. Even though the second leg will be held at the Wanda Metropolitano but still, for me Manchester City are still too strong and they have different qualities and if Atletico take the opportunity to attack then Manchester City's counter-attack will certainly be faster and more dangerous. Manchester city is the biggest threat for Atletico Madrid  they need to try their best and Manchester City is not a team that will easily allow Atletico Madrid to have any chance of opportunities,  I think it will be much difficult for Atletico Madrid to win against Manchester City, Manchester city always take their game very serious in champions league.

The match between Atletico Madrid and Manchester City will be an interesting one. I am expecting Manchester City to advance to the next stage . But I don't agree that Atletico Madrid need to attack the match as it starts to be able to win. In my personal opinion, I think Atletico Madrid should also play their defensive football. If you attack Manchester City and they get a goal or two in the fist half, Atletico Madrid is gone. It will be better to play defence till around 70 minutes of the match, then they can come out to try their luck of getting 1 goal to push them to play if possible.

We are not worried about Bayern, just surprised why they were defeated by Villareal. Bayern is superior in many aspects such as players' quality, experience in UCL, game stats, and other else. It was an unexpected result to see Bayern lose 0-1 in the Leg 1. I assume all football fans must predict that Bayern will be easy to win both in Leg 1 and Leg 2. But in reality, Bayern seems to have difficulties in scoring, even 1 goal only.

Let's see how Bayern bounces back in the Leg 2. They must use a different strategy and play more aggressively. Chelsea vs Real Madrid, Real Madrid are 2 goals up against Chelsea and without away goal rule have to play to their utmost best to ensure they score atleast a goal in Spain and concede less than 3 goals

Liverpool va Benfica - Liverpool was found wanting defensively against Benfica as they went away with 2 goals advantage, Klopp needs to tidy up his defense because this second round, if Benfica take their chances could usurp and cause an upset

Manchester city vs Athletio Madrid and Villareal vs Bayern Munich - a goal defeat is the easiest to overturn in the champions league because you are just a mistake away from going to the next round or fighting for victory. Anything other than an excellent performance will ensure qualification from either teams.

Did any of you watch the first match between Bayern and Villareal?
I have to admit that I haven't watched such a bad game of Bayern for a long time and it's a miracle that Villareal didn't beat Bayern much more convincingly, with 2 or 3 goals difference.
Bayern have not been playing well lately, neither in the German championship nor in the Champions League. They also had very big problems in the first match with Salzburg in the previous round of the Champions League.
Villarreal is a much stronger team than Salzburg and I expect an uncertain and very difficult match for Bayern.

We can't compare Bayern Munich to Villarreal. We all know how strong and able Munich are. But, Villarreal is not a team to underrate, their performance in the first leg said it all. With an aggregate of 1-3, Chelsea clearly had to go through tough conditions in order to qualify for the semifinals. The condition is that they must win by a three-goal margin. With that, the final aggregate will be 4-3 for Chelsea's advantage. I think it's very difficult for Chelsea. No club has been able to make an away comeback like that in the Champions League era.
