It is HT for the champions league matches this night. Both matches this night ended draw. Liverpool vs Benfica ended 1:1 draw while Manchester City vs Atletico Madrid ended 0:0 draw.

Simeone is doing well as what he is doing is the best he can do to survive. He should not drag possession or attack with Guardiola because if he does, 1 more goal will be a bad day for him. What he is doing is the best, if he plays the 2HT upto 75mins, he will come out and try his luck in full and see if he can get 1 goal and then go into extra times. He could be lucky.

Liverpool in the other hand hand is not so much aggressive as they used to be. Because they know they have qualified or will surely qualify. I believe Benfica doesn't have chances to survive this night. Let us see how the 2HT will be.

Still 0-0 at Atletico's game against Manchester City, but I didn't expect anything else either. Atletico want to ensure that City do not score and occasionally try to get out. City is much better, but that too was to be expected. I think City will still win this game, but Atletico can be dangerous on the counter. We saw that yesterday at Bayern Munich against Villareal.

Very impressive match between Madrid vs Chelsea, both played very well, especially Chelsea thats make Madrid must be played all out. At first, I thought Madrid would qualify easily, it turned out that my prediction was wrong, fortunately Ancelotti's experience and the Madrid players gave positive results even though they lost this match, but the 2 goals they scored were enough to beat Chelsea 5 - 4 on aggregate.

It's a very good match for Chelsea and they almost successfully destroyed Real Madrid. The rejected goal of Marcos Alonso is not enough to stop them and they did score another third goal to equalize the aggregated result. However, Real Madrid did not give up and the trivela key pass of Modric help them to bring the match to beyond 90 minutes. Benzema again shows his leadership by a decisive goal for his club.

It was really heartbreaking for Chelsea in my opinion. I really thought they could have a chance if they went ahead early in this match but they actually had ended up with a lead even in the aggregate score but they blew it. And after all the only thing I am thinking right now is how many times Karim Benzema is going to come forward and be the savior of Real Madrid. Anyway a good show all around.

Chelsea were so close but I guess yesterday wasn't their day and everyone at Chelsea should be proud. Obviously, their players gave 100%, they proved many bookmakers wrong, no one expected to put in that fight against Real Madrid. Although allowing Real Madrid creep into the game was disappointing because the Chelsea we know under Jose Mourinho would have seen the game off at 3:0 but this Tuchel's Chelsea is different, always attacking.

Atletico Madrid are playing their usual boring game again and Manchester City are not making it a problem as they already have a score advantage like 1-0. It would be great to see a bigger competition between them in the second half. I hope Atletico Madrid score first for that to happen. Manchester City would play much bigger than this then.

i saw the strategy made by Simeone against Man City in the 2nd leg, not much different from when they faced Man City in the 1st leg.  look at the "ball possession" statistics which are very different, ATM is only 29%.  Is Simeone afraid of facing Man City?

No, I don't see anything different from Atletico Madrid today because I think they are still with the same strategy as the first leg. Atletico Madrid is still quite comfortable with the strategy of defending and counter-attacking even though so far it has not succeeded in harming Manchester City.

I'm just a little bit annoyed with some of Manchester City's chances to score because I think they had a pretty good chance there. But of course I was hoping to score in the second half after failing to do so in the first. Domination of the match was something important, so they had to get those chances sooner or later. So I'll be looking forward to that goal in the second half.

Do not expect Villarreal to play with Real Madrid in semi final. Even if they played together, do not think the energy Villarreal's players are using to play in La Liga is what they are using to play in Champions League, it is not easy to win Bayern Munich which can make anything to happen among the both teams.

From what I see Manchester City haven't managed to make a single shot on target they only controlled the game 68%
I know Atletico often use this strategy then counter-attack Manchester city should be careful with this

So I believe Manchester will make every attempt to repeat that formula against athletic Madrid in this match but whatever ways let's watch how the match will go.

As usual when Salah came in, Mane and it was a disaster for Benfica. So it's increasingly impossible for Benfica to equalize the distance by a high margin. Chasing 4 points is not easy for Benfica. Real Madrid and Villareal are waiting in the semifinals. So first Liverpool escaped with satisfactory results. Meanwhile, Manchester City only has a slim possibility. That 1 point could have been pursued if Atletico got a miracle.

I guess they are not aware that City is going further with 0 : 0! I may be looking forward to it too early, but I was expecting a tough match and a few goals, with this result I am winning my bet! I guess anything can happen in the last few minutes, but I doubt we'll see more than one goal, if we see it at all, this can end like this and City is going to the semi-finals!

And as I said, Liverpool is winning and Benfica managed to score at least one goal, I knew they can do it!

Atletico Madrid are now pushing a bit forward, but it might be too late already, they should have had a more attacking approach from the getgo, but they chose to be defensive minded early into the game.

There's only about 8 minutes plus stoppage time left for Atletico Madrid to come up with something, or their UCL journey for this season ends here.

EDIT: Benfica have also just drawn level from 3-1 down, it's 3-3 already It's only 6 minutes to go there as well, It's rather too little too late to savage anything but they can at least be proud of how they well they've done.

The time is running out for Atletico Madrid and the game is still going on by 0-0. Atletico Madrid found more chances to score in the second half but they were too bad at even finding the target. They have zero shot on target in this half. And it seems like Manchester City are qualifying for the semi final round. And the Liverpool - Benfica game has been amazing so far. Maybe Benfica are still going to be out of the tournament but we have watched six goals. And there is a tie like 3-3. Benfica turned the game around from 1-3 and it was great to see. At least they are trying their best still.

In the second half Atletico Madrid really stepped up their attack and at this moment of course Manchester City must defend well. Now Atletico are in much better form than in the first half, they have been dangerous quite often in the Manchester City penalty area and maybe they will score.

I don't expect Manchester City to fail to maintain their lead in this match even if they don't score, but scoring 1 goal is much more important than having to maintain that 0-1 aggregate.

The surprising thing is that Benfica have scored 3 goals so far at Anfield, but of course Liverpool are still safe because the score is still a 3-3 draw 6-4 on aggregate. A few minutes before the game ends, I hope this draw can take Manchester City to the semifinals.
