I'm not so sure guys; however, if you ask me, I believe that there could be some truth hidden inside those allegations as Pakistan's team was literally at its very best back in 1999.

They performed really well in 1999 and i expected them to win the World Cup when they reached the finals, but then Pakistan showed the ultimate betrayal when they were dominated by Australia and it was a one sided trashing.

They are doing the right thing. Any score above 350 is going to give advantage to England. So far in this series, South Africa has never managed a total above 300, in any of their innings. England bowlers are in top form, and if they get a score above 350-400, then it should be enough to thrash the Proteas. The partnership between Pope and Stokes is worth 76 runs as of now, and I won't be surprised if one of them hits a century tomorrow.

I do agree with that as South Africa does lack good player who can bat for a long period of time and it will be another disappointing match for South Africa.

It looks like the England players are really determined to win the match by the way in which they are progressing and this is the slowest Test match i have seen in a very long time with a run rate of around 2.4 and if they are able to post a total of over 350 runs then it will be a difficult task for South Africa as they are yet to find the perfect combination in the Test team.

This is how teams should be batting in test matches, especially while playing in pitches which are conductive to pace bowling. A few decades back, a run rate of 2.4 runs per over would be considered nothing special. But nowadays, most of the matches have a scoring rate of 3.5 to 4.0 runs per over. Batsmen no longer have the patience to defend against good bowlers.

A couple of decades back, it was Bangladesh's biggest wish to play against Pakistan in Pakistan; I can't believe how much the stuff has changed since then.

In the late 90s, Pakistan even deliberately lost against the Tigers just so that they can get the Test status.

Oh my god!! Are you serious? You are saying that Bangladesh got the test status because Pakistan deliberately lost some matches against them. This is the first time that I am hearing such allegations. Do you have any evidence to support your claim? I am someone who watched the match between Pakistan and Bangladesh during the 1999 world cup. I never thought that it was fixed and I stick to my point even now. You are insulting the entire Bangladeshi team and its fans.

I'm serious; it did happen in all of 1999. If the players hadn't fixed it, they would've won that one too along with 1992.

This is 100% correct in this World Cup these two matches was fixed and Bangladesh defeat was just by Nawaz Sharif's governments orders because they was thinking to send some good gesture from here but Bangladesh Governments response was very poor but match was surely fixed as I have many friends those have very big amounts on this match and they won big amouns.

This is a new revelation as some of the matches were clouded with these sort of controversies as some of the players were banned during that period but i have not heard about many getting a life ban other than Saleem Malik and it is clear that you cannot fix a match with one player as it is a team sport and it is not clear which matches were fixed.

Are you sure about this? Because the betting companies are not idiots. If there is some unusual activity in a particular match (like very high number of bets placed for a team having very little chance of win) and the result is not as per the expectation, then they will freeze the reward and start an inquiry in to it. The rewards will be distributed only if the inquiry finds that there is no foul play associated with that particular sporting event. And as far as I know, the betting pattern for the Pakistan vs Bangladesh match of 1999 was not classified as "suspicious" by the betting firms.

Edit 1 : England declared the inning at 499 runs. Ben stokes and Ollie pope are centurion for English team. Even number 10 batsman Mark Wood scored the  42 runs against the Proteas's bowlers.

Just checked the scores, looks like the overnight partnership between Stokes and Pope went strong today and a nice addition of ~100 runs from Curran and Wood. With 499 runs in the 1st innings, ENG will be happy but I highly doubt if we will get a result in this match. Though Curran is available, Jofra Archer is missing, so I think SA will somehow manage to get something around 350+ and somehow bat towards a draw.

Ben Stokes is their main player as he is rescuing the England team from many difficult positions for a long time and with the dismal form of Joe Root they are relying on other players to step up the game and today the youngster Ollie Pope scored his maiden Test century and the tail end batsman also contributed some good partnership which helped England to score 499 runs and South Africa already lost 2 wickets and that too to a new young English spinner and if he is able to pick wickets in the second day i wonder how they will be facing the spinner in the 4th day as i am not expecting the match to go in the final day as the morning session will determine whether South Africa will be fighting to save the match.

Why do you think that South Africa will get to 350, when they failed to cross 300 in any of their innings so far? My guess is that South Africa will follow on, and England will win by an innings (despite rain interruption). The morale of the South African team is not good right now, especially after all the controversy surrounding the omission of Bavuma. I would be surprised if they manage a score above 250. Archer was not in great form, and therefore his absence is not going to have much of an impact.

It is difficult to see that South Africa is not able to produce quality players and even Sri Lanka came and defeated them in their home soil and in the past to defeat South Africa in their home soil is a big deal let alone win the series but now they do not have enough quality players to replace those legendary players. I used to remember they used to produce quality all rounders one after the other while some of the countries used to struggle to produce even a single all rounder. Coming into this match it is going to be another humiliating defeat.

I was expecting the rain could save South Africa but that never happened and now they lost it completely as they lost all their batsman and it is a matter of time the England bowlers pick the rest of the wickets. It is disappointing to see that they are not even able to compete even with Sri Lanka with a young team and the troubles they have against England was not surprising.
Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka is playing and Zimbabwe is playing the real test with a run rate of under 2 runs, the interesting aspect is that they just lost 2 wickets and if they bat for the entire second day then they can balance the match.

I think when a team gets in that mind set to try and save a test match and also think that the rain can save them makes it worse as we have seen with SA. They have crumbled under the pressure from the England bowlers and its only a matter of time before England win this match, the question is by how much?
