The only thing surprise me in T-20 list is absence of Pakistani players. At least Babar seems much better choice in comparison of Aaron Finch when playing at no 3.

Babar Azam was absent from the largest franchise T20 league in the world (IPL), and this seems to be the most important reason for me. Apart from his short stint with Sydney Sixers, he has been completely absent from the foreign leagues. And nowadays franchise leagues are getting much more viewership, when compared to the T20I matches.

Franchise cricket fame is all good and everyone loves that but performing and representing the country should be on the priority when giving the international awards. After all its ICC award of the decade not some Franchise event.

I completely agree with @JSRAW franchise cricket does not count when ICC is selecting players, it is important how many matches were played by that player while playing for his country in that decade. Three years that he played was within that decade but how many games he played representing his country counts more.

Ireland played well enough but they could not win the match. UAE won the match by chasing the target of 270 runs. Rizwan and Mohammad Usman played just great. Both have scored centuries. But I was fascinated by watching Ireland’s opener Paul Stirling’s batting. He was unbeaten on 131 runs.

Paul Stirling is surely one of the best all rounder for Ireland. Maybe the most important player after Kevin O Brien.
But I'm really sad to see how far behind the Irish team has fell. They had an impressive performance in 2006-2016 but have failed to deliver and justify their test status. They were struggling before and they gave a forgettable game even after the pandemic.

Babar Azam is the highest run scorer in T20 in 2020, he did not play much T20 International matches but he is leading the pack from the rest of the players by a long margin. If you are taking T20 Internationals then Mohammad Hafeez and KL Rahul are the top run scorers.

Babar Azam averaged 55.20 in T20 Internationals in 8 matches in 2020 and he is the leading run scorer in all of T20 played in 2020 and i am not sure why he was ignored from the ICC playing XI.

If Ireland improves their performance then they can face other established teams, if not who will be watching one sided carnage, they need to play much better innings against Zimbabwe and Afghanistan and then if they perform well then they will get the opportunity to play against top tier teams. Regarding the revenue they just got the Test status and you cannot expect them to get a substantial share just like that and i think it has to do with the revenue they generate as well.

In 2020 his majority of runs came against weaker opponent such as Zimbabwe and Bangladesh. He scored 4 half century and 3 came against them. ICC do have some system of weightage on scoring runs against weak or strong teams. 

Despite this i still believe he deserve the place in T-20 squad as overall his record against top ranking team is excellent.

The Irish team played very well once upon a time. But in the last few years, I have not heard any news of their series. The team was almost lost. Now they are coming back again. Although they lost the match yesterday, they played well enough. And by watching their game I realized they have a lot of talented players. Paul Stirling is one of them.

Irish team is just disintegrating. The quality of cricket is declining because they are not allowed to play against the older test playing nations. Once in a while they play against weak teams like Scotland and Canada, and that is not doing much to improve their quality. On paper they have the test status. However in the three years since they received their test status, they have played a total of only 3 matches.

Even i started watching Woman's cricket just to place a bet on the match especially when England and Australia are playing and even though the odds are not that big but it is a sure shot win and it is easier to identity the winner. T20 matches are more competitive than ODI for Women's and the sports book needs to provide much better betting options for these matches.

If that is the case, then credit should be given to Cricket Australia. Without bothering much about the financials, they set up the WBBL, which gave a platform for the women cricketers from all around the world. They did more to women's cricket than the ICC plus all the other boards combined. On the other hand, the richest cricket board in the world (BCCI) has resorted to delaying tactics to avoid setting up the WIPL.
