As expected it is not that easy to defeat Srilank on their home ground. If the Asia cup happens in Srilanka then most probably they would win it this time. The pitch is made according to the needs of Srilankan team. With this win they won the series. I personally never thought that Afganistan would play so badly in the last match. I expected them to be more competitive. I did expect a thrilling final match. None of that sort happened today.

In the last and much expected match, Afghanistan have done the worst performance scoring just 116 runs. Sri Lanka have chased the target in a much simple way losing just a wicket. Dushmantha Chameera have took 4 wickets for 63 runs. The bowling economy is high whereas Wanindu Hasaranga have bowled well with the best economy of 1.62rpo and took 3 wickets.

Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan match was really a boring match as such game is very rare in T20 too. How can an ODI match end at 116/120 runs?  In 50 overs, Afghanistan lost all wickets in just 22.2 overs and scored only 116 runs and Sri Lanka won the match by scoring 120 runs in just 16 overs.  Afghanistan played really badly.  In the second ODI too, where Sri Lanka set Afghanistan a target of 323 runs, Afghanistan managed to score only 191 runs.  However, Afghanistan managed to win the first ODI against Sri Lanka. looking at today's match, Afghanistan looks very weak in the game of cricket

I don't understand what Afghanistan played today. They lost all wickets for just 116 runs. Several players in the Afghanistan squad have played in the IPL. I thought after performing on a platform like IPL maybe their experience has increased a bit. They will play well in the series against Sri Lanka. And in the first match, Sri Lanka team performed well and defeated Afghanistan. But I was very disappointed with their performance in the next two matches. Sri Lanka reached the target of victory in just 16 overs. I thought we would see a better performance from Afghanistan in the next World Cup. But after watching their performance against Sri Lanka, it no longer seems so.

The results of both these matches were completely unexpected for me. After watching Afghanistan's performance in the first match, I don't think they will be beaten so badly. The performance of Afghanistan's batsmen in the second and third matches was very poor. And the poor performance of the batsmen is the reason for the poor condition of Afghanistan. On the other hand, in the second match against Karnataka, the Namibian team won by batting for a target of 361 runs. This was a completely unexpected result. After seeing the result of this match I thought Namibia will win the third match as well. But today the team was badly defeated.

But the opposite is happening in that case, it is ridiculous to lose all wickets and score 116 runs in an ODI match. This was absolutely a blowout from Sri Lanka. They did not give Afghanistan any chance in this match. Afghanistan obviously did not have anything substantial on the board. That's why it did not matter how Afghanistan was going to bowl in the second innings. 117 is never a good enough target in a 50 over match. Does not matter if you have the best bowlers in the world in your team.

Namibia was unable to score well. In a pitch like this, they should have scored a lot more. I don't think even 320 was going to be enough. Of course they were not able to defend 227.

Afghanistan will play an ODI series against Bangladesh on the next month. I think they will lose the series too against Bangladesh. Afghanistan had a poor performance in the third ODI today. Today, Sri Lanka is likely to win without a wicket in this case. But Sri Lanka could not play any role in this case without winning by a wicket. Sri Lanka scored 95 runs for 1 but it will be easy for Sri Lanka to complete the basket of 116 runs. Nissanka scored a half century which is very lucky for Sri Lanka, and the opening batsman is likely to win this day's team. The performance of both of them is very good but the opening batsmen will have the most role in Sri Lanka's win today.

Sri Lanka won the series because of Yes Afghanistan's poor performance. The entire cricketing world is disgusted with such poor performance by the players of the Afghanistan team. Such play is not acceptable in ODI format. This match proved that Afghanistan has lost its ability to play. However, in this match, the bowlers of the Sri Lankan team became deadly. They managed to take all the wickets of the Afghanistan team in 22.2 overs. The bowlers of the Sri Lankan team have earned a lot of reputation in this match. Afghanistan will play an ODI series against Bangladesh on the next month. I think they will lose the series too against Bangladesh. It's not like that. As a result of their inexperience, Afghanistan's performance is very volatile. They will defeat the world's best on one day and go down meekly against them on the next day. At least on paper, both Afghanistan and Sri Lanka looks to be teams of equal strength for me. Afghans are very strong, especially in the bowling department, with players like Rashid Khan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Fazalhaq Farooqi able to trouble the batsmen. Batting has been a bit weak and lacks experience, but they still have explosive batsmen such as Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran.

After Afghanistan's win in the first match, there were hopes that they might win the next matches as well. But in reality the opposite has been seen. Afghanistan lost the next two matches to lose the series. There is no scope to denying that Sri Lanka is definitely a good team in ODI cricket. If the Asia Cup is held in Sri Lanka then it will become a good opportunity for Sri Lanka. We know that home venue advantage is not very useful in  franchise cricket but in international matches it will definitely be a great advantage. Although Sri Lanka will not be finalist, they will be able to show good performance in the 2023 Asia Cup.

No team can expect to win if they give a target of just 117 runs. Even then, if the pitch had been spin-bowling friendly, Afghanistan might have been able to fight back. They have several excellent spinners. But the pitch was batting-friendly. And a victory on such a pitch was impossible given a target of 117 runs. Afghanistan players did not perform well.
I expected to see a better performance from Rashid Khan. Because I saw Rashid Khan's great batting and bowling in IPL. But he was inactive in this series. I didn't expect such an unprofessional performance from Afghanistan players against Sri Lanka.

Afghan batting has shown no improvement over the years. Mohammad Shahzad was there a few years ago, but he was very volatile. Now they have young players like Hazratullah Zazai and Rahmanullah Gurbaz who are very inconsistent, and players like Mohammad Nabi who are out of form. And that is the reason why they are losing so many matches despite having some of the best spin bowlers in the world. I don't know much about the domestic cricket system in Afghanistan. Low quality domestic cricket maybe one of the reasons behind this.

@Sithara007 I believe that the player’s are impacted psychologically due to their home condition’s cause they were performing decent before the invasion took place. Furthermore despite minimal facilities they do have lots of talented player’s but lack of strategy and proper guidance is effecting their growth hence I feel that they can improve a lot if they’re provided good facilities.

Wasn't expecting such low performance by Afghanistan,  sirlanka came prepared to win the series but Afghanistan batting totally collapsed.
Not a single player scored any runs and as result sirlanka won easily 9 wickets.

The excellent performance by the Sri Lankan bowlers made it easy for Sri Lanka to win. Especially I want to say Dushamantha Chameera and Wanindu Hasaranga's performance was awesome. Chameera picked up 4 wickets in 9 overs. And Hasaranga conceded just 7 runs in 4.2 overs and managed to pick up three wickets. Sri Lanka could not have won the series so easily if the Sri Lankan bowlers had not performed so well in this series. There has been an unprecedented improvement in the performance of their bowlers.
