Even without Bollick, Northport was able to make the game a close one. Nlex was just able to pull away from Northport mid the fourth quarter. But in the quarters before, Northport was able to stay close to Nlex. I think Northport's import is good but easily distracted and loses focus with the physicality of the game.

With Bolick's way of playing where he always ball hog and owned the role of being the main scorer, it leads for his teammates to freely rotate the ball as Bolick is not there. It actually becomes a good reason that Bolick is currently not playing as other casts of the team are being fully utilized.

Bolick is known to always not try to become a shadow by their import. Instead of the play was designed on the import, Bolick will ruin it and instead, will do the job. It's actually good that Bolick is having a mindset like that where he don't want to rely on import but it seems to me that for him, it's a competition and not a team work.

If I'm Bollick, I might try my luck overseas and play in the B-league. I mean B-league already gave sign to him that they will get him if he will play there. More money, more experience, more challenging.

Agree with you, Bollick would make a lot of money compared to the amount he would receive even if he will get a max contract. The love of basketball and money should go together because even if you are too loyal in your team in the PBA, you will still be traded when you are less effective.

That's not new already, we've seen plenty of players who are already traded and eventually lose their career.

Robert Bolick is already aware of how big the difference is in terms of salary between playing locally and as an import overseas. However, it's not just the salary but the obligation and responsibility in order to maintain that big contract on foreign teams that are highly expected.

Once a local player considers playing outside the country, there's a low chance for that player to return to the PBA that's why it's not easy for long-time PBA players already to just accept the offer from other countries since there are lots of "what if" here.

What if got injured? What if not playing well? What if the expectations of the scout didn't meet? - might be some thoughts of those PBA players.

Well then, there's a rumor that Bolick is now in Taiwan but Pido Jarencio himself clarifies that it's not true. Who knows though?

2 days to go and Bolick's contract will expire and yet nothing hear from his side. Why it takes too long to decide? Hmmmm...

If he has the desire to go abroad and become an import, he should do it. He should not be hampered by the "what ifs" that you are saying because the same "what ifs" will haunt him if he stays. The pay is significantly higher, and he can earn in a few months what he earns in a year in PBA. That should put him in a good spot if he knows how to handle his finances.

Good point it's the first game, a first test for Magnolias chemistry while with Converge they already got 2 wins and they really move so well, it's just an interesting game since they are leading 6 points if I remember it right with a minute then Magnolia manage to make a good defense and almost snatch the game away from them.

Congrats mga kabayan who put their trust in Converge while for those who got tempted with a sweet odd for Magnolia, moving forward and look for a good pick for the next game to try to recover.

The game is not entertaining, I was thinking that Phoenix will try to play hard to win, but it's currently a one sided game, SMB fully dominated the Phoenix. I'm not taking the live bet but good luck to you, if I will be tempted would bet on the +25.5, but usually my instinct is wrong. 

Under 3 minutes now and the lead has been cut to 17 points, Phoenix manage to make some good rally in the 3rd quarter and still trying to push and close the gap, if you take that instinct you might be closing your fingers now and hope that Phoenix will continue to try harder, the defense of SMB is not that tough and they are letting Phonix to make some run..

Still lots of things to happen here. Either Phoenix will manage to cover that handicap or SMB will push for the last rally and cover their handicap.

SMB won by 21 points against Phoenix. You lost your bet bud, but that's ok.

They took a huge lead at the first quarter and never looked back. When I saw that the lead of SMB is at 20+ already at the 2nd half, I immediately stopped watching it because I knew it that they will get the win. It's SMB after all .

The first game was more entertaining than the 2nd game. It's a close fight between Converge and Magnolia, but in the end, Converge's record is still unscathed with 3-0 record while Magnolia lost on their debut match. Converge under Coach Ayo is pretty scary TBH and with how they played last season with him and this ongoing season, they are the team to watch out. Offense is spread across different player thus, they will be hard to stop offensively. Their import only scored 26 points, but 4 local players are in double digits and Ahamnisi managed to score 22 points off the bench.

The debut match of Magnolia's import McCree is pretty good as well as he got 38 points and 16 rebounds. I just don't like their last play where there is no ball movement whatsoever. They just gave it to their import and let him handle the last second shot which obviously missed. Well, better luck next time for him I guess.

It was a break of the ball for magnolia getting a run late in the fourth quarter. It was careless for Converge to let Magnolia get to within a single position when they were leading 6 points in less than a minute left in the game. But kudos to Magnolia, they know how to stop converge and force turnovers. The last shot of the import of Magnolia was quite a forced shot so it would really be lucky for the team if that went in. Fortunately for Converge, the last shot did not sink in.

You said it right the first game is far enjoyable to watch compared with a one-sided matchup between SMB and Phoenix, that huge firs half lead gave SMB the luxury though they relax a lot in 3rd quarter but they maintain the 2-digit lead and finish the game with that huge margins.

IMO, it's not a high percentage shot, they could just go for an OT by driving the ball, who knows, if it hits they might also get a foul, so that could result to a win if they will hit the free throw.

Not because he is the best player, he should be the one taking the last shot. It should still be the play that will be followed, if it was not a game plan, then for sure that does not help them and if the import does not follow the game plan, even how good he is, he will be a problem in the long run. Yes, they need to be consistent, beating the Magnolia Hotshots is a great statement that they are a strong team this conference. Their defense is really great because Magnolia is also a good defensive team. I'm pretty sure Magnolia will bounce back in their next game, so I'll be waiting for the betting odds for that and will automatically put my bet on them.

Their next game will be this Feb 3 against TNT, we should see a great betting odds for Magnolia.
