Maybe they will lose or draw with them in this one too but I hope to see them starting to recover later.

The teams we wanted to see at the top of the points table have very poor performance. The performance of Lille, Lens, and Lyon is very poor. Their standings are not so good and, they are ranked 8, 9 and 13 in the points table respectively. Marseille and Nice, on the other hand, are playing very well. I think, they can't compete for the title though, yet they failed to improve themselves a lot.

The only competition they have is to penetrate and defend to get a position into the champions league zone, actually I also hope this season lille can again break the dominance or at least give a fierce resistance to PSG like they did last season, but in reality they are again having a bad season by dropping to 8th place and even it seems to be in the champions league zone will be a difficult thing for them to get in end season.

Psg dosent care much about french ligue because they will probobly win it easily as expected they already have a big advantage and teams like Lyon arent even close to winning the title or even to compete for it so it will really depend how much Psg will care ablut this match

Judging from the points gap between the current leader of the Ligue 1 (PSG), and Nice are presently at the 2nd place on the standings. You can agree with me that PSG will definitely win the Ligue 1 title. I don't think their match against Lyon Is very important for them. Although, PSG will still win, because Lyon have a terrible performance this season. And they hardly win their matches. Nevertheless, am not underestimating Lyon, they will be hosting PSG, and might surprise with a great performance. While PSG are mainly interested in winning the Champion League trophy.

PSG will want to make as far distance as possible against competitors in Ligue 1 in order to have more comfortable time and preparation when Champions League returns with knock-out phase. Messi has a worst season in last 10 years or even longer as I remembered. The season has passed almost half of it and Messi only has 1 goal in Ligue 1, that is unbelievable. This season can be another downward step for both Messi and Ronaldo. Their era is ending.

Lyon lost their important player, Memphis Depay to Barcelona. PSG have some problems to build good connection between old and new players but it seems so far with many star players, they manage to win enough matches. Lyon will likely lose this match if PSG play at their right ability.

Lyon always had this kind of reconstruction of the team... as whenever they hit the peak of a generation , they start to sell them and gather new fresh players to start a new cycle so nothing unusual for Lyon here.

However, no one seems to care about Etienne as this team is literally going into Ligue 2 and it seems that they have the same fate that Shalke had in Bundesliga last year as no matter how many coaches you change or how many players you rotate into that team , it will simply not work. They need an entire new team like Shalke had this year in Bundesliga 2.

Currently, PSG is feeling good handicap in this French League and no team capable of create any threat to them even it's just half of this season now they have more concentration on Champions League against Real Madrid which is very tough match for both teams. Nice and Marseille can go close but still no chance for any close title race.

Lyon is in the worst shape for many weeks and dropping points very quickly now staying in lower of French League with many young players they have no chance for touching top 6 teams for this season but hopefully with this year they will have good players for their cycle and this could be better for them with some good results. Right now they are facing many problems because they are also having no title hungerness, just selling of skilled players is enough for their good profit.

agree, it is a bit early to talk about match, since they play next Sunday, but yeah, it can go either way, and that depends on PSG motivation to play, since they already won the league (and that was known before the league even started)
I am just waiting to see Marcelo again in Lyon squad, but that is obviously not going to happen this season

I would like to share my opinion about the most discussed game of the coming week also. I believe that Lyon have a potential to surprise PSG in this game. It is a home game for them but it doesn't matter much for PSG about whether they play a home or away game. They just continue to dominate each one of their games. On the other hand, this kind of games can be unpredictable too. This is one of the derby-like games of this league. And maybe it is a low possibility but Lyon could get a surprising win at the end.

Just realised there are some interesting Coupe games today, some already played but there are some tasty upset picks -- thinking of upsets against Marseille @11/1 but I wonder if Monaco and St Etienne are value bets against lower opposition? A handicap or HT win could easily get you about 2/1 on each of them. Don't know enough about French situations with teams though so am staying away from them (for now).

I wonder what a positive test means - that he is sick or that he is an asymptomatic carrier, this can have different consequences on the speed of recovery.

If you hadn’t written about this, I wouldn’t have known that the French clubs have already finished their holidays for the sake of the cup - for some reason, the sites where I watch football events either do not cover it or have moved the news about the French Cup very deeply. In my opinion, the idea of betting in this competition is dubious - the clubs are not trying very hard to win because of the status of the tournament. If I had been betting, I would have chosen the underdog as I would have gotten good odds with adequate risk.
