The point of the match is not important. I guess they organizers wanted to have Messi and Ronaldo play in the same pitch since it didn't happen in the just concluded 2022 World Cup. Perhaps the last game where we will see these two legends of world football, thanks for the legacy players Messi and Ronaldo, we will never forget the days of football where they gave us real football fans a lot of joy. I am not entirely sure what the reason is at all. Like if it was the same owners then I could understand too but that's not the case. So whey do they accept it, just for money? I really do not see why they would need the money from this game, they are a pretty rich team with very wealthy owners who have billions, what could this game offer that they don't have?

Dunno if you noticed it or not but Saudi Arabia, as a country, is promoting a lot its sportive activities and hiring CR7 to do that is just the beginning. He is supposed to help them attracting World Cup or other international competitions. For now he is a player in a Saudi team where the owner don't mind spending money to build a solid team.

I think Marseille are more likely than Lens to finish the season at the second position in the standings. The point gap is quite close now and I won't be surprised if Marseille get ahead of them in the near future. Marseille have a much better squad before anything else. I think besides about money of course to promote more about the Arab league of course.

I just can't think when a team with a rich owner still needs money just from friendly matches which will only drain players' stamina. Meanwhile, PSG's situation in Ligue 1 and also the Champions League seems to be still inconsistent, so playing in these friendly matches will only waste players' stamina for nothing because it is only to bring together Messi and Ronaldo and it is better for PSG to focus more on preparing for matches in the Champions League.

I really got lost at the same scenario too yunno; when the superstars that had my interest got substituted...
I'm sure that the Saudis have made alot of cash from that particular friendly match... I don't Have a doubt that it would have happened if Ronaldo wasn't at nassr..._{cus it hasn't before,if at all -- for a long while now}. I saw the transformation in the game when Ronaldo got hold of the ball as an equalizer, just few minutes after Messi scored the first goal of the game. The performances were unique from both sides but without Ronaldo in nassr, maybe they'd just go away with 1 or 2 goal to the 5 goals scored by PSG.

I'm sorry you lost money because of a game like this. Nobody would think PSG would lose points to teams like this. And that's why we saw a result in the previous match that surprised many, the team is not playing as well in their last match and now they have two losses, while they were expecting the League to finish undefeated. I think in the next match they will not leave it to chance and they will play much better. They need to play at normal level to win the France Cup, they need to be a little more serious in the match
