Oscar didn't ditch Canelo though unlike what he did to Ryan after the loss. Just what I have read on news sites.

I haven't followed it though, I saw Floyd comments on no show of Oscar Dela Hoya in the post fight. However, this is Oscar responds,

Quote
Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya says the reason he didn’t attend Ryan Garcia’s post-fight press conference last Saturday night is that he was advised by his security team not to attend because he had received “death threats” all week long and they felt it was too dangerous for him to be in attendance.

https://www.boxing247.com/boxing-news/oscar-de-la-hoya-blames-death-threats-for-his-no-show-at-ryan-garcias-post-fight-press-conference-after-loss-to-tank/262224)

And another thing that caught my attention though is the case of Bernard Hopkins as well. He was accused according to Oscar of having a testosterone cream in his hands when he touch Tank in the weight it and was requested by PBC to be out right ban in the fight inside. So Bernard is absent as well.

Hard to know that truth though, and probably we might not know the reasons behind why both of them are absent. The death threat was absurd already, but the Hopkins accusations is very different and most likely the first time that we have heard this before.

Yes, Ryan Garcia is still relatively young and is at the peak of his career because he has a pretty good winning record, but in the fight a few days ago, Ryan Garcia lost by knockout to Gervonta Davis with a body shot that hit the upper heart and made him really fell down until declared unable to continue the fight.
Both boxers are of the same young age, it's just that Gervonta Davis is much older by a difference of 4 years and has a record of winning more than Ryan Garcia.
This defeat should not be regretted by Ryan Garcia because he still has a long time to become a great fighter and succeed in getting the title he wants.

I'm not sure Ryan Garcia will move up to the top division because it will only make it more difficult for him to win the championship belt.

Yup! Both are the same age but sure enough, it is shown on the fight who has the higher fight IQ and that is Gervonta Davis, but Ryan Garcia is still making his road to Success and upon going that path he will surely fill that cup with techniques and new skills this fight is just a lesson to teach himself well moving forward I really want to see the Devin Haney VS Vasiliy Lomachenko fight that will be a great fight to watch aswell and we may never know what may happen but many are surely expecting Haney winning over Lomachenko,

Not very exciting fights though. Agree with YuginKadoya about flop sided,  one would think they were fixed just like the next fight of Canelo. Obviously Ryder is unknown one, it can just be a tuneup and Oscar wants to make money.

Oscar didn't ditch Canelo though unlike what he did to Ryan after the loss. Just what I have read on news sites.

I have watched the fight aswell and at 1st I thought that the taller Jaime Arboleda would have an advantage with his height and reach but I was wrong, Jaime Arboleda was just surviving the entire fight, and we can compare this fight to a weasel VS a Snake where Zepeda is a weasel while Arboleda is the slow snake, he got nothing to do you can see the advance technique of Zepeda versus Arboleda,

Oscar Dela Hoya's reasons why he wasn't there in the post-fight press conference is too shallow, nobody is buying it, really! He said that he's been receiving death threats all week long but his actions aren't suggesting that he was really receiving some threats because if that were true, I'm certain that he will not be in the fight night and will just watch it live through PPV because it's too risky and dangerous for him, but he was there and then his mood changed when Ryan lost the fight.

Even Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Davis's trainer aren't buying his reasons. It's plain and simple, Oscar was very unprofessional and he was frustrated because Ryan Garcia didn't had the fight even just for a bit. I wonder what did Ryan Garcia felt when Oscar didn't show up.

That fight was really a disappointment, or at least that's what I felt because I did expected a better performance by Ryan Garcia and that he will be wiser on that fight because he already knew how wise Davis is inside the ring and how vast his IQ when it comes to what's needed to be done. But that specific bar that I set for Ryan may have been too high for him even if that is somehow achievable for a fight like that.

Well, hopefully he will indeed learn from his mistakes and enough about that because I'm already thrilled to see Loma fighting for the Devin Haney's throne. Just a few more days folks.

I do agree that it was very unprofessional for them to be absent in the post fight press conference. Regardless, they know that they have to cover Ryan's back whether he win or lose that fight. Of course, not just Oscar but those who back up Ryan in this big fight is frustrated because we thought that he still has something inside of him to at least give us a good fight. But Davis is just to good, power and has a good defense to protect himself against Ryan's left hook.

Thank you for the update. I just finished reading about Trainer Goosen and Ryan Garcia going their separate ways. I found some coach's revelations about Garcia too after the issue came out. It seems like KingRy likes to slack off and his former trainer doesn't like that too. They are saying Garcia was not happy about the instructions given to him by Goosen during the Tank Davis fight but I believe this is just a cover for his own problem because many coaches are already verifying the laziness of Ryan.

This first loss probably affected him mentally but this is also where greatness will happen. You lose one, you get back as a stronger fighter, and you polish the mistakes you had done. I don't think changing trainers is the solution to being a better boxer. This year will be a big challenge for him.

You need to understand everything after your loss, if you want to come back strong you need first to accept your defeat and use it as stepping stone to move forward, there's should be no issue about losing a fight and if this concern about his coach will continue to spread, it will not help his career, if he fight again with a new coach and loss then the reflection will continue be negative.

Better to quietly work with how to improve yourself and, for now, stay away from social media. It will help him to focus and regain his former place.

I guess fame and to be in the spotlight didn't had any good effects towards Ryan Garcia because instead of improving and continue to be a better boxer, that just made his head to grow bigger and if the revelation of Joe Goosen was true that Ryan Garcia was lazy throughout the whole preparation then the kid is seriously in deep trouble and the recent defeat will make his mental problems worse (that I think was not solved yet and Oscar was just covering for him that he already survived it).

For me I see Ryan Garcia is still learning a lot and even though they have closer ages, Gervonta Davis is 28 years old while Ryan Garcia is just 24, you can see the age gap between the two, both fighters can still learn, and progress on their speed, strength, technique, skill, and fight IQ so make no mistake Ryan Garcia will be better with this fight experience and you will never know he will be accustomed to the style of Gervonta Davis and he will be ready beating him,

And since it was reported that Ryan Garcia chooses to separate with Goosen as his trainer, (he is also a no show if I'm remember correctly) then maybe when Ryan's contract with GBP is up, he might have to look for another boxing promotions I reckon.

Well, I really don't know what is the real reason behind Joe Goosen and Ryan Garcia parting ways, but as for Garcia he said that they have no Bitter qualms and that they part ways on good terms, but many are speculating that it is because of Oscar De La Hoya and Bernard Hopkins not attending Garcia's fight because of their own reason which is they have talked about that Oscar De La Hoya is receiving death threats so he doesn't push on with the fight, While Joe Goosen is still expecting an extension for the partnership but it was to no avail that Garcia really like to have a new training well if a boxer doesn't like the situation anymore I think it is all because of the lost or the wrong decision as a trainer,

I watch the replay of the fight, and I think that Joe Goosen is giving Ryan Garcia good instructions in the corner. It's that the Ryan chooses not to follow it specially after the knockdown on 2nd round. So this is a bad sign, boxers not following their trainer and decided for themselves.

And if I'm not mistaken, this was Canelo criticism of Ryan, that he doesn't have that mentality and doesn't want to train that hard and most of the time, he is slacking in the gym. So I guess we have the evidence now as this is the 2nd time that Ryan is moving out from a good trainer.

This first loss probably affected him mentally but this is also where greatness will happen. You lose one, you get back as a stronger fighter, and you polish the mistakes you had done. I don't think changing trainers is the solution to being a better boxer. This year will be a big challenge for him.

We will see, Oscar has a big problem in his hands right now. He needs to bring Ryan to his full potential. So if the mental health issues comes back to haunt Garcia, then it will take some time again before we can see him fight.

So, it's not just coaches and trainers who can verify the slacking of Ryan Garcia, even boxers like Canelo did know about his fewer training sessions. I am intrigued. How could he be good at trash-talking on social media when he doesn't have anything to back it up? This is not how champions behave, they always have something to prove so they work hard for it. I doubt he will win a belt if he keeps this kind of attitude.
This first loss probably affected him mentally but this is also where greatness will happen. You lose one, you get back as a stronger fighter, and you polish the mistakes you had done. He is young, and someone should guide him, especially on discipline. He makes a lot of money now but that doesn't mean it will not be drained. He must understand that he should take advantage of his young career. Soon, he will depreciate and I doubt he will find a boxer who will fight him when he doesn't have any value anymore. With how he comes back after this will be the crucial moment of his career. We have seen a lot of boxers who lost their way, I hope he will not be part of that.

I agree with all what you have mentioned, I think there's still mental issue with this kid the way he take his fame and the way he speaks out something that will bring his career down, hopefully his camp will manage again a good cherry pick to bring his career back else, if he suffer for another defeat everything will fall and it will create more damage to his mental health.

He needs to work more with his attitude and not just with the skills, he can improve more for sure as he still young but better to admit first that he also made a mistake and take it as good motivation to regain everything back and earn a title/belt.

The question is, is the death threat real or not? If it is real then maybe Ryan could understand it.

But for the Goosen issue, I think it's obvious by now, he lost the fight and maybe Ryan thinks that Goosen didn't do a great job for him. Just like when Anthony Joshua lost the first time against Ruiz, he chance trainer as well, but he was a complete different fighter. It's good that they are still in a better relationship with Goosen despite them parting ways. But it is good for Ryan after losing the fight to Tank to look for another trainer?

Maybe, but we all know that Ryan has a history of mental breakdown, and this first lost might put a lot of stress on his mind again. So let's see if he can cope with it and become great or just simply folding with the pressures on the first lost he suffers.

So it's not just about the trainer, it's the mentality of the boxer itself. When AJ take Robert Garcia as a trainer against Usyk, we can hear him really talking to AJ in the corner and inspire and motivate him to fight and be great. But at the end of the day, this trainer/coach can only do things within the boundaries of the physical body of a boxer, if his mind is not responding, then gonna be hard for them to overcome that kind of obstacles.

Yes, it is still listed, I guess nothing for now, even if it is listed by crypto based bookies, they can just removed it if the plan doesn't go that way. Just like in the Thurman vs Spence, it was listed as well last April until the date and then removed later because obviously, it didn't happen. For Ryan and tainer Joe Goosen separation, maybe it's just a validation of Ryan's history with Eddy Reynoso as well. He just trying to cover up everything and says that Reynoso doesn't have the full time on him. But in this case, with the experience of Goosen, he might have devout his full time training Ryan alone but they didn't in. But it could be Ryan blames Goosen but in fact he should be the one to blame as he quit on the fight.

However, go to your sportsbook and check the odds in boxing for June 17. Spence vs. Crawford is listed! What does this imply?

That adds more disappointment to the fans who were expecting the fight to happen. From the looks of it, I think this rivalry will remain a dream, as it will not happen now or in the future. Both fighters are taking their business on different paths and would only choose to fight a boxer where they see they have a great advantage, for one main reason: to preserve their undefeated record.

Manny Pacquiao has another L in his record here as he losses the breach of contract filed by Paradigm against him in court.

Quote
Manny Pacquiao suffered a legal setback Tuesday after a California jury ordered him to pay $5.1 million in damages to his former management firm, Paradigm Sports Management, for breach of contract.

The jury ruled 9-3 in the trial, which took place in the Superior Court of California in Orange County, awarding $1.8 in damages to Paradigm, plus ruling that the eight-division champion return a $3.3 million advance he was given after signing with Paradigm in February of 2020. At the time, the signing grew the speculation that Pacquiao could eventually fight MMA star Conor McGregor in a mega-fight crossover event, as McGregor was also represented by Paradigm.

In the lawsuit, which was filed on June 25, 2021, Paradigm claimed that Pacquiao had breached the agreement by allowing others to negotiate a deal for his August 2021 fight, which was initially scheduled to be against Errol Spence Jr. Spence withdrew from the fight and was replaced on short notice by Yordenis Ugas, who defeated Pacquiao by unanimous decision, sending the Filipino boxing legend into retirement.

Yeah, remember this one, I don't know, Pacquiao has history of making bad decisions or perhaps the people behind him, his advisers. The many might not be big for Manny, but sure does will hurt him. And perhaps that's one reason why we are still seeing him for exhibition fights against the Korean last year. He need to have this kind of money just to cover up his losses here and his lifestyle. He lost the Presidential election which I think cost him big money too.

The Sportsbook could have a great source to dig something this deep but maybe it is another April's fool, but as I go into the web I spotted this article

https://www.badlefthook.com/2023/4/29/23704925/errol-spence-vs-terence-crawford-deal-reportedly-near-done-july-22-target-date-boxing-news-2023

So maybe the news is true that the fight talk is already done and we got to see this fight happening this year and it is on July 22, so the sportsbook source was really deep in this information, so that was that I think it is true after all,

They can surely provide even tampered proof just to show it to the public, but anyway, Ryan Garcia really wants to move on, and moving forward I think he needs a new start and a new trainer is likely on his mind Joe Goosen thought that Ryan Garcia will still extend their partnership however I think it is all over for now and maybe Ryan wants to just move on, well and this is imminent on the ring Ryan Garcia doesn't want to stick to the corners instruction anymore because he knows nothing is working for him, this is what I think he is thinking,

Yes, thank you for your observation, at least we both agree that Goosen giving Ryan best advise in the fight. It also reminds me of Manny Pacquiao vs Ricky Hatton. Ricky was trained by the fabled Floyd Mayweather Sr, and he was given instructions after the first 1st round knockout of Ricky Hatton. And yet he didn't follow anything, instead he goes on the style that he wanted and we all know what happen after that, he goes down cold in the canvass and after that it was over for Hatton mentally. And Sr as well disappeared after that fight.

Hopefully, it won't be the case for Ryan as he is still young and can make a comeback. As you have said, someone close to him should give this young kid and be successful in the future.
