What is he up to?
Checking out his Wikipedia page, he doesn't even present himself as a boxer with superior records anymore but as a politician. He must have plans to run the country and this Olympics can boost his popularity with the younger generation. Imran Khan was a famous cricketer in Pakistan before he became Prime Minister of Pakistan, sports helped him a lot to get into a higher position in the country. It must be his goal as well.

It looks like it was ok for a professional boxer to fight in the olympic so Manny Pacquiao aiming for the olympic gold medal make sense.  Due to the rule changed in 2016, the Olympics allows professional boxers to compete .  Among the Olympic record there is only one professional boxer to get the Olympic medal and he is Albert Batyrgaziev, a representative of Rusia in 2020 Olympics.[1]

Anyone heard about Manny Pacquiao coming out of the retirement to compete in the 2024 Olympics in Paris?
It's crazy! well, Manny have done a lot of crazy things before and I don't know how they are going to pull this one up to make it happen when the qualifying event in Asian games for 2024 Olympics only allows 40 yrs old age limit for all of the sport. Pacquiao being 44 won't gonna qualify in the Asian games. Though there might be some arrangements for Pacquiao to qualify in the Olympics but it is for sure going to be the hardest part.

Please provide a link to the source of this information; it would be interesting to know if there's a real chance that he will be able to represent the country. At his current age, despite having retired from boxing already, he still shows passion and love for his country as he wants to contribute. However, he is already 44 years old. I think he should focus his time on making money, such as through exhibition fights, and leave professional boxing opportunities to the younger generation, as they need them for their future careers.

That kind of passion might convert to another addition to his collections of honor. Who knows if it's for real and he managed to win the gold, that's something that the country will surely be proud of, right? Not sure though if he can really qualify himself, I'm also waiting for additional information since I just saw this from a share post in social media channel.

It will be more interesting if we will see progress and updates with additional info if Pacquiao will be allowed or will really be qualified.

There are still many fans that will support him if this quest will take place.

Below is just one link discussing about Pacquiao's desire to fight in 2024 Paris Olympics -

https://www.manilatimes.net/2023/08/31/sports/pacquiao-wants-to-fight-in-2024-paris-olympics/1907720

Seems that his camp is pretty serious on this upcoming event as they are looking for ways how to qualify him on this competition.
And maybe opt to get the one of the four Universality places available. Let us see how this target will come to fruition.
If he can get a spot, that would be a nice crowd magnet as for sure a lot of fans will watch him fight again inside the ring.

Fight week already for Liam Smith vs Chris Eubank Jr - rematch.

Here is the final press conference, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSmMnrxZeRc.

If you will remember, Smith knockout Eubank in their first fight 7 months ago. I was never expecting that, I thought that the bigger guy Eubank could have broken down Smith.

But Liam proved otherwise, he talk trash, but he did what he exactly told in the press conference back then.

Odds not yet odd in my favorite crypto sports bookies though.

This is the last ML odds I have seen before fight, so Smith is the slight favorite.

Smith - 1.64
Eubanks 2.24

So the fight has started already, I have Eubanks ahead after two rounds. He was using his jab in this fight and trying to be very careful not to get hit again. Smith might just be starting slow in this fight, but once he got hot and the his rhythm it will be a war.

Let's see how the fight goes.

Edit: Smith goes down in round 4. Eubanks dominating this fight.
Edit 2: Smith goes down again in round 10, then Eubanks go for the kills, Referee stop the fight. The underdog Eubanks wins.

Haney is not with PBC, he is a free agent. He even tried to negotiate a fight with Shakur but made a ridiculous lowball offer that shows he is not serious in wanting to fight him. Tank is the one with PBC but his most recent fight was against a Golden Boy/DAZN fighter, Ryan Garcia. If Tank really wants to fight Shakur, that fight would get made. Too bad Tank only seems interested in in-house mismatches or Instagram influencers with strict rehydration clauses.

Bob Arum has already said that Shakur will fight Lomachenco, just don't know when but I think that is doable since both fighters are under his wings. I just hope though the fight between Loma and Shakur is for the championship belt since Haney has already moved up to 140lbs.

With regards to Tanks Davis, it would be interesting to see him go down a bit, maybe to 130lbs to meet Inoue, that would be a massive fight if Bob Arum would agree.

It will be a championship fight if Devin Haney will leave his belts at 135 so that the remaining hungry boxers can claim it and unify it again some time soon.
But since we're not hearing any of those things, that might be a sign already that Haney doesn't want to leave his belts yet and will fight at 140 while carrying it while also testing the waters if the weight class is really for him or not.

That's a smart move from Haney himself, I mean, his journey at 140 pounds against Regis is not yet guaranteed that he will have a nice start and if he will feel that 140 is too much for him then he can always go back at 135 where he is still the strongest and holds the undisputed title for having all four belts. But even so, I don't think that he can retain those belts long enough because there is Tank Davis and Shakur Stevenson who is looking forward to grab those belts out of him.

Interesting as names who are really qualified to hold o challenge to get the belt away from Haney are fighters who are expected to be more aggressive in terms of snatching it from the current champ, a good way to earn more money for the side of promoters and the fighters since names are big in this sport and fans and gamblers would love to hear any possible update once the negotiations start to process.

One big news that will start the discussions about a possible fight between those fighters will trigger the spark and create good attention.

If Haney will go back at 135, he will for sure face Shakur Stevenson because the latter will be named again as the current champion's mandatory challenger. There's nothing he can do to avoid that even if there is a politics in-between that makes the discussion quite impossible but since a big money will be involved, both camps will likely have a deal regardless of who will have the purse advantage.

Honestly, it would be very good if Haney Could come back and have that encounter, with that it spices up the category, right now there are fights that some boxers who are considered famous, well they fought against Controls that did not have much sight, or much Visibility before the World , As is the case of Casimero, who will face a boxer that I did not know recently, I think that for some he will, due to his track record, which is not bad , but I do know that a boxer Does this type of fight so that he can gain a level and he can once again launch into the world of boxing with good triumphs, in the case of Haney it would be interesting, because for me they are both at the same level, both he and Shakur would be interesting to see which one would be the best, so they should do it, I would like to know What would that slide be like, because thinking about it, it is a way for them to get to know each other more and being one on top of the other, they can quote more Iconic and famous films where obviously they will Give a lot of money.

Shane Mosley Convinced Devin Haney Does Not Want To Fight Shakur Stevenson

Quote
Shakur Stevenson and Devin Haney simply don’t like each other. They've gone from respectfully calling each other out, to hurling curse-filled tirades at one another every chance they get.

For Stevenson, he wants what he believes he’s earned. After moving up in weight earlier this year and making quick work of Shuichiro Yoshino, the former Olympic gold medalist wanted a shot at Haney. With the Las Vegas resident holding all four major world titles at 135 pounds, Stevenson knows that the road to becoming a world champion goes through his rival.

Following several months of back-and-forth trash talk, both sides engaged in conclaves in an attempt to put together a deal. According to Stevenson, Haney offered him a contract that would pay him 25%, something that left the former two-division titlist acrimonious.

Source: https://www.boxingscene.com/shane-mosley-convinced-devin-haney-not-want-fight-shakur-stevenson--177368

Many say that Shakur can win , Apart from the fact that the deal between the two of them is quite difficult, I would think that they both feel like it, it will be an Interesting fight , in the case of Haney he is a boxer that things can happen, for me things can happen however they are , generally things happen according to the degree of training that the boxers have, I think that things can be seen here from a point of view that if Haney doesn't want to fight because he He doesn't like it because he must say it in the media, but say it himself, not have someone else say it for him, and that if they are so angry, it will be a phenomenal fight because they would Eventually get Married , and then if you measure who is the better, and of course that happens, because the one who wins well and the other will ask for a good rematch, then this is only good when there is this type of situation between boxers, I like this, because it gives it the spice that we all love He likes in fights.

I watch some highlights of the fight and yes, it was a different Eubanks that shows in this fight. And it seems that Smith didn't really prepare for this fight as something is wrong with him from the first round.

No snappy jabs, all he thought that maybe he can walk and just knockout Chris just like in the first fight. But Eubanks come prepared, obviously the bigger guy and his punch has power and after that round 4 uppercut knockout wherein Liam was given more time, it's just a matter of time that he will knockout Smith. But at the end of the day, everything is for the love of the sports and so they huge and act sportsmanlike. Now, it's the question whether we will have a 3rd fight, a trilogy to end this rivalry?

-snip-

I guess they will have to explore their options first before coming towards Dana White to organize their fight because we know that Jake and Dana haven't have any good relationship with each other and these two still keeps on bombing each other on the internet up until now, like recently where Dana White is frequently saying that Jake Paul haven't answered to his challenges where he should take a test to see if he's using a gear on his fights or not.

For sure they would need to do that as Jake Paul is not on great terms with Dana White and surely Jake Paul is also not on great terms with his own Brother Logan Paul, as Jake Paul doesn't want Prime Water to be advertised in his fights so likely if Jake Paul doesn't have a good terms with his Bother Logan Paul then for sure Jake Paul doesn't really have a good terms with Dana White for sure a fight with a UFC fighter likely needs for the fighter to be retired as they don't have contract wth the UFC anymore,

WOW! I really didn't expect this at all as many have thought that Manny Pacquiao will likely be just sitting this out and just enjoying a leisurely life with all the business he created but likely he can not move on with his Boxing career anytime soon, as he still wants the action of going inside the ring for sure well see Pacquiao if not with the Olympics then in another exhibition match up with another boxer, or even an MMA fighter perhaps,

Please provide a link to the source of this information; it would be interesting to know if there's a real chance that he will be able to represent the country. At his current age, despite having retired from boxing already, he still shows passion and love for his country as he wants to contribute. However, he is already 44 years old. I guess this is what he saw: Manny Pacquiao is looking to come out of retirement to compete at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games

I mean, this is good, Manny Pacquiao will have a chance to attain more honor and glory to his name once his campaign to have that gold medal in the Olympics will be successful. Of course, this move is not just for him alone but to his country as well.

But the problem is, he is already way over the age limit and him making this statement will just end in a disappointment.

Oh, Manny Pacquiao coming out of retirement for the 2024 Olympics in Paris? That's definitely some surprising news or as for me, maybe just a false news. Manny's had a history of doing some pretty remarkable and unexpected things in his career, so this move doesn't entirely shock me.

The age limit for the qualifying event in the Asian Games being set at 40 is indeed a significant hurdle for him, especially given that he's 44 now. But, as you mentiond, there might be some special arangements or exceptions made to accommodate a legendary boxer like Manny Pacquiao in the Olympics. It would be unfair for other players, he's no longer in his peak also so maybe it could also be an advantage to other players.

But, as you mentiond, there might be some special arangements or exceptions made to accommodate a legendary boxer like Manny Pacquiao in the Olympics. It would be unfair for other players, he's no longer in his peak also so maybe it could also be an advantage to other players.

Let's expect that there won't be so that the Olympics can retain its face and to make a fair game without any bias judgements, and also, as much as I wanted to see Manny Pacquiao, I'm expecting that they will not give any special treatment to any legends who are looking to make an appearance in the Olympics and will participate the games.
A rule is there for a reason and there shouldn't be any special reasons so that someone can bypass it easily in their own will. Olympics games is not any other tournament and it's a big embarrassment if they will allow it.

He quit the world of boxing since 2021 ago and decided to join the political parliament to run for state leader but he failed and only got a few votes then Manny Pacquiao started to pursue several businesses to become a successful businessman but this year he indeed stated returned as a fighter and will start having several boxing fights in his old age.
When talking about his desire to compete in the Sea Games or the 2024 Olympics it seems impossible and he will never qualify for the Olympics even though he has tried in various ways because there are strict regulations regarding age limits.
I would prefer this Filipino professional boxer who has many titles to fight in the WBO rather than take part in the 2024 Olympic Sea Games because when he had a career in the WBO Manny Pacquiao had a very good fighting history.

Errol Spence should definitely concentrate on his mistakes that he had made. I don’t think it is a good time for him to actually change trainers. We have seen a lot of fighters change their trainer after the first loss as you said. But I definitely think that it would be better if Errol Spencer actually concentrated on what he did wrong instead of what other people did wrong.

There is also another thing which people are saying. A lot of people are saying that if this is rumoured, this is definitely being discussed. I actually think that is also true.

I think if Spence will change coach, I wouldn't get Roy Jones though. He is a good boxer, one of the legends no doubt, but I don't think he has what it takes to be a great coach. If I'm not mistaken, he was the trainer of Chris Eubanks against Liam Smith in the first fight and Chris lost.

So he dump Jones, and then goes to the trainer of Crawford, BoMoc. Now Eubanks gets his revenge against Liam this weekends. So I do agree, Derrick James is a great trainer, however, Crawford is too much for Spence that I doubt that even who ever coach him that time, will have a hard time trying to figure out Bud Crawford. And I doubt that there is similarities between AJ and Spence that they need to switch trainers.

I absolutely agree. He can change his trainer if he thinks it will be a good decision. But it will definitely not be a good decision to choose Roy Jones. He would rather be better with the trainer that he has right now. I believe it will be better if he does not rush things. He better give this a very good thought.  This is a big decision for his career. If he chooses wrong he will pay the consequences for sure.  so I think he should think about this long and hard. He certainly does not want to choose wrong and lose his next fight. About who he should choose, I am not going to talk about that.  I will just say that it will be better if he chooses someone else instead of Roy Jones.

Spence I believe is devastated he will not think of changing his trainer if he is not, They have gone a long way, and the loss in fact is a big challenge for both of them to improve, Derrick James' replacement just proved that Spence is ready to take a risk just to get even with Crawford.

It might and might not work for Spence if he switch coaches specially in a rematch. And it's true, and so as almost all other sports. It will be the coaches that will get the blame if a team or a individual losses a hight stake game.

So for me it's a bad move for Spence. Just stick with Derrick James, this is just his first lost under James and maybe also Derrick learn a lot from the first fight. James also become trainer of the year as well, so his credentials speak for himself. Pacquiao didn't change trainer when he lost, but instead him and coach Freddie try to improved in their next fights.

There is a rumor floating around that Errol Spence had broken his ties with long time trainer Derrick James.
Again, this is just a rumor and could be fake news, but we all know that when fighters suffer their first defeat, they usually change trainers.
Just like with Anthony Joshua. And they said that the replacement will be Roy Jones. But that's where it gets interesting as Roy Jones for me is not a good trainer.
This is not good for Spence if this is true, if he is going to change it should be a trainer that is better than his current trainer, it will take a lot of time for both of them to familiarize each other they will need a tune-up fight first to fully familiarize or if Roy Jones style and method is suited for Spence.

I looked it up and it seems to me that it's just a fake news meant to destroy their credibility or something like that, and I saw a video in YouTube that somewhat explains Spence's camp current issue. Other than that, if this thing were true, at all, there should be some articles made already saying that Spence severed his ties with his long-time trainer, Derrick James.

But since there aren't any, then it's quite safe to say that this rumor is not true at all. I'd say that it's a bold one yet a bad move if Spence is going to find another trainer and he doesn't need any of that at this point of his career specially if he's looking forward for a rematch against Crawford.

Without a concrete evidence or public announcement it will remain as rumor, I agree with you in terms of trying to prepare himself in a possible rematch, he needed someone who already been there for him and already witness what happened to the last matchup, they just need to create a strategy that may fit to counter Crawford's sets of combination.

More on the side where it's better to assume that they are just creating this or the media might just use this to keep the hype alive
so when a rematch got negotiated, both camps are still in the same levels of hypes.

Yes, about that. I've heard that Errol Spence already activated the rematch against Terence Crawford and that it will happen at 154 pounds.
Now, are there any details about their future fight? Because I'm thinking that there might be some troubles on their timeline as Crawford is now waiting for the winner of Charlo-Canelo fight.

First experienced as they both think that they've got superiorities and for sure losing is really something that they did not expect,

I agree that changing trainer while preparing for a rematch might affect the system which they already have, they need to find ways to
make sure that they have a better chance of winning.

Spence and his trainer need to work together, and they need to be open to whatever the outcome.
