Nobody isn't surprised anymore that loses of Russian fighter jets become almost daily news. But now we have news about second A-50 radar plane shot down. It happened in Krasnodar Krai by the Azov Sea:
https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidaxe/2024/02/23/incredibly-the-russian-air-force-has-lost-another-one-of-its-rare-a-50-radar-planes/?sh=76986fb82ac4

Interesting moment that it happened more than 250 km from front line, it's distance that Patriot system can't reach. Some Russians are raising version about friendly fire. And their anger is understandable. The have just several such planes and they can't simply build new plane from scratch to replace lost ones.

After everything what I saw in these 2 years of war, it's already very difficult to surprise me. And friendly fire wouldn't be something what would amaze me. Especially when there was similar cases before, like shoting down their fighter jet (IIRC Su-34 - something what Ukraine don't have).
Ukrainian media raised version that plane was downed by modernised Ukrainian S-200 missile, it has range of 300 km:
https://www.pravda.com.ua/eng/news/2024/02/23/7443442/
There is good article about this system:

I know guys, you are all very reasonable pacifists that just wish what is best for everyone. You have stated many time your peace plan consisting on a single point: Putin does whatever he wants and everyone else says yes.

I reckon I have seen worst peace plans... no, I actually have not.

Not impossible I guess... but it would need to cross all Crimea. All the ships anti-air in the area could probably spot it and perhaps stop it. And also there is the problem of identification, detection and tracking. Even if you can hit a target at 300 km and evade all measures you would need to know and "see" that target. I am not sure that is such an easy task.

May be an US AWACS passing some "gospel" to the Ukrainian forces? I hope we get to know more about this. It is becoming seriously expensive for Ruzzia to have anything in the air near Ukraine.

Forbes does speak about a long range radar capability for the S-200 modified. An A-50 is a large, non-stealth plane, the missile (huge missile) was intended to destroy bombers, yes, could be... it is believable.

@paxmao, I wonder how you can stand it and how you have the will to hold discussions with brainwashed communists? He (Branko) and his red gang recently held a rally where they waved symbols of communism because they have the Soviet Union and comrades Tito and Stalin in their hearts.

Of course, the protest was directed against the current government, but the symbols they use speak more than clearly about the kind of people they are.

No, it didn't had to go through Crimea. It was confirmed that plane have fallen near to Truodovaya Armenia village. And if you look at location of this village (https://t.me/DIUkraine/3507?single), missile had to flie over occupied Southern Ukraine like Melitopol or Berdyansk, depends from where exactly it was released and then over Azov Sea.
But still, if it was done by Ukraine, it's very impressive, hitting moving plane so far away sounds very complicated, after all it's not static target. And from video that was posted, it looks that plane pilot knew about incoming missile, as we saw how plane released false heat targets and one of missiles hit it.

Something similar like protests of Polish farmers on border with Ukraine. From first glance it looks like ordinary farmers protest, but then you see banners asking help from Putin. And then guy like Piotr Panasiuk, listed on Ukrainian Peacemaker database, he have accounts on Russian social media like VK on constantly posting Russian propaganda on his Twitter https://twitter.com/PanasukPetr https://twitter.com/United24media/status/1760260771471036627
Then you understand that they're not just useful idiots, but actually heavy influenced by Russia.

I think that these people are being paid, or are literally members of the Russian intelligence. I'm not talking about the farmers protesting, but those who make these banners asking Putin to finish Ukrainians and so on. Why do I think so?
Russian intelligence doesn't sleep and it's present all around the world. You might've heard the story about Russian helicopter pilot who defected to Ukraine, killed 2 of his comrades and got a bounty from Ukrainian government. It appears that he did not want to stay in Ukraine and moved to Spain, where he was found by Russian intelligence and assassinated (shot and run over by a car). Poor idiot contacted his girlfriend and asked her to come to Spain and the killers most probably followed her from Russia to Spain.

Russians of course benefit from any conflict that involves Ukraine because if they could escalate the protests in Poland, there could potentially be riots and those riots could make Poland close the border which is the largest supply route at the moment. That would force the whole traffic to go through Romania, which is a longer route, less secure than Poland, much easier to place spies into.
How do we know that they spy? Last year Russian spies who were placing cameras near roads and railway tracks were caught in Poland. The police found these cameras and they prepared ambush with special forces, watching who is going to come to collect them.

You are making things up dude, we support the Ukrainian independence, that's all. As I have said many times this is not a ideological war, it is about Putin wanting to recover the USSR and failing miserably to see that we are not in the XVII, XVIII, XIX nor XX century. Putin does not care about Nazis, Sionists, the "oppressed Rusians" nor anything else, he is just about making a name for himself in the books before he dies in utter irrelevance.

Anyway, today I have seen the first video of a Abrams in action. Quick action, two hits quick retreat.

It simply takes some people a little while longer for reality to set in. He simply doesn't realize that Putin accomplished his goal... the goal of opening a Russian path to the Black Sea. We only hope that Ukraine doesn't make Putin angry enough to finish off all of Ukraine. As it is, the Black Sea path will remain open whether Zelensky wants to kill off a bunch more Ukrainians or not.

I'm personally glad that Medvedev wasn't in the top office in Russia. We just might be in the middle of WW3 right now if he was.

Yes. Keep up your sense of humour, you will need it.

There are protest in Poland since quite a while, as usual a few people may be defending their interests, maybe organised. What you will never understand is that protesting in a democracy is fine. I know this probably is mind-blowing for you, so sit down if you feel lightheaded.

TBH the Polish are probably paid by Putin (a good indication of what to expect if he is victorious in Ukraine), but they should take lessons from the French subsidized farmers protests. They do it for free!

These are the real communists, and you are one of those stinkers who love Yugoslavia and your bloody leader Tito, who killed over 400 000 Croats after World War II. Your grandfather was probably one of the executioners, and your father raised you to hate Croats and the country you live in.

Ratko Mladic is a hero of Serbia, Russia and stinking Yugoslavs like you, and real Ukrainians have always supported Croatia, from the first day when real Croatian volunteers fought for independence, unlike you and others like you who were forcibly mobilized, and today you receive pensions of EUR 1000 and wave the flags of the failed Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union.

I certainly understand the basic things, and even many times the not-that-basic things. Look, you fought and whatever, probably you need to believe your own bullshit to somehow feel justified in whatever you did, but what is clear is that you can only see the world with the lenses of the past. Too distant of a past.

Peace and prosperity right now requires that Putin is stopped. This is not ideological, this is practical. I could you care less on who you love or hate - that may make you feel better, but brings nothing to the common future.

You are a stinking Yugoslav coward who feels sorry for Tito and Yugoslavia and that your people did not kill as many real Croats as possible when you had the chance. I wonder what your comrades-in-arms would say if they knew what your views are on the matter of Ukraine, given that some of them are fighting there for Ukraine, and all but one of them that I know support Ukraine.

Given that you have already given enough information about yourself, I will ask about the famous "warrior Branko" who fought against the Serbs in the war, and if I find out what your last name is, I will certainly inform your comrades that you support Putler and his hordes of death.
