Wow what a great match!

Perhaps this match reminded me of the final match that New Zealand played against England in the 2019 World Cup. Why does this happen every time with New Zealand? Only New Zealand can do such a try and such a chance to win.  

383 in the second innings might be the highest total for any team but unfortunately the team was defeated by just 5. The last six overs felt like I was sitting on the field watching the game. I am lucky because I got to witness such a match. I was betting on Australia but I would have been happy if New Zealand had won this match today. I know how boring it is to see one-sided victories in this World Cup tournament and today's match was enough to remove that boring feeling. There were chances till the last ball. If they could have scored 6 runs off the last ball, New Zealand would have won the match. Many thanks to both teams for gifting us such a match.

Wow, one of the entertaining and almost successful run chase. Never a dull moment during the second inning, you need titanium balls and perfect script to chase down such mammoth totals and the Kiwis almost did it.

2 back to back thrillers and the crowd is building up nicely. Give spectators such thrillers regularly then even neutral fans will fill up the stands and tune in at home. Incredible match, only because, the chase was exciting. Gotta feel for Neesham, he gave it all tonight.

The New Zealand vs Australia match required 19 runs from 6 balls in the last over when it was not clear which team would win. But I would say luck is on Australia's side today. That's because New Zealand didn't have to go for four twice in the last over because Australia's fielding was superb. Had Neesham not been run out, New Zealand would have won today's match. But New Zealand has played very well, looking at their game, it seems that India and New Zealand may be opponents in the final. New Zealand did not do well in the beginning after the two openers got out.Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell led the team both of them played very well. Rachin Ravindra scored 116 off 89 balls while Daryl Mitchell scored 54 off 51 balls. New Zealand team lost today's match but I was impressed by their performance, they played brilliantly to win today's match. Australia won by five runs. Congratulations to Australia team.

At one stage it looked like they might win the match. But between wins and losses there have been ups and downs, sometimes New Zealand and sometimes Australia. Such matches are really quite entertaining. The 49th over of the match was the turning point where the New Zealand batsmen might have come close to winning if they could have played few runs. Coming to the 49th over they played 4 balls where they collected 13 runs but they did not score any runs in the last two balls. If a single run with a boundary could have been collected, there would not have been so much pressure in the last over.

It would have been better if there was only one World Cup match today, as a Bangladeshi fan I thoroughly enjoyed the New Zealand vs Australia match and would have gone to sleep with that fun if it wasn't for the Bangladesh vs Netherlands match today. As a Bangladeshi supporter it's been four matches in a row and I definitely expected Bangladesh to turn around today and maybe beat Netherlands by a big margin but the way Bangladesh is now it seems that the dream of beating Netherlands will remain just a dream. As a Bangladeshi fan who has lost one match after another, perhaps there is nothing more painful than this. I watch the games of other teams alone but on the day when there is a game of Bangladesh, I sit to watch the game with my family but every day Bangladesh disappoints us. Every match disappoints us and we look forward to the next good match and that's how our World Cup journey is going.

Haha. The toy tigers are back in great form already. Some of the lords were waiting to score big against the Netherlands but they forgot that this was not Mirpur. They get enough support in Kolkata because a lot of Bengali people support them. Now the fans are leaving the stadium. That's a very disappointing performance from the toy tigers!

Mahmudullah is trying to rescue the team but one cannot perform every day. I hope Bangladesh will manage to score at least 150. They should leave the next three match and back home and get prepared for the next year tournament.

The Netherlands is inching closer to victory. Bangladesh is 108/7, and they need another 122 runs in 20 overs with 3 wickets in hand. Against my expectations, this match will be one-sided. The Netherlands is on top and the favourite to win this match at the moment, as they are continuously taking wickets, and Bangladesh batsmen were not able to stitch a big partnership. Mahmudullah is the key here for Bangladesh as well as for the Netherlands; if he gets out, the Netherlands will win the match comfortably and vice versa. Let's see how long Bangaldesh's tail will be able to stay on the wicket.

Mehedi Hasan run out. Mehdi Hasan's run out in this difficult time of Bangladesh should not have been at all. Mehdi Hasan Mahmudullah supported Riyad well but as he was run out, there was no chance of victory for Bangladesh. Right now if Mahmudullah Riyad can bat with more strikes then any good decision can come for Bangladesh team.

LOL.. looks like the Dutch are going to get their second win today. And it is remarkable because they had a morale breaking defeat in the previous match against Australia. The Dutch management took some strong decisions after their massive defeat, and they dropped two of the players in poor form - Teja Nidamannuru and Roeloef van der Merwe. Shariz and Myburgh came in, and although they didn't contributed much the team is going to win today.

BTW, another wicket to Bas de Leede. Last hope of Bangladesh, Mahmudullah Riyad is out, and they are at 113/8.

Unfortunately, Kiwis fell just short from the target, but they proved their ability and gotta say that they are favorites to win due to their performance as team and contribution coming from everyone, if Williamson got fit then they will look like a Mammoth.

Rachin Ravindra has to be the find of the year in cricket to be honest, no one would expect that young talent to perform this much at this big tournament.

Tomorrow, the Big match? I expect something like this from the defending champions too.

As Australia batted well in the first innings for which they managed to collect 388 runs. And their batting performance was excellent as a result of which New Zealand could not put much pressure on the Australian team. And 388 runs was a very big target not so easy but difficult but in the second innings New Zealand came down to bat and batted well. Although Australia's bowlers are experienced, New Zealand put Australia under a good amount of pressure today. But at the last minute New Zealand lost to Australia by just 5 runs which was really sad for New Zealand. The New Zealand team had a good first win but lost two out of 6 matches which is why they lost points. Anyway New Zealand tried hard enough to win the match against Australia but unfortunately they lost it was not in their luck.

The overall performance of the Netherlands was very good. Netherlands started losing wickets very quickly. I thought the team would not be able to score even 200 runs. They ended up batting 50 overs and managed to settle down a target of 230. 230 is not a very big target. However, their opponent Bangladesh's batting order is very weak. The performance of the batsmen of this team is very erratic. And as usual today we again saw bad batting from the Bangladeshi batsmen. Although Netherlands is not a strong team, Bangladesh's performance was very poor. I would say this team is spoiling the beauty of the World Cup. Despite being given a target of just 230 runs, the match was completely one-sided. We only saw the dominance of Netherlands players.

True and NZ are lucky to have him, he'll fit perfectly in the playing XI (Test and ODI, not sure about T-20) when the old guard takes a retirement. He's 23 yo and already showing his class in the WC, he did give a hint about his talent against India in a test when he batted against Jaddu-Ashwin and successfully drew the test.

Who knows if England will manage to bring out its best against India, there is always a possibility of India handing em out 2 free points.
