What a shocker from NZ! I was expecting a close game as they did almost chase over 380 against Australia but couldn't even get past 170 against RSA. I honestly don't rate Keshav Maharaj much as a quality spinner but I suppose New Zealanders couldn't read his spin much and gave away 4 wickets to him. RSA are back on top and potentially waiting for India's match coming up tomorrow against SriLanka, to see if they still stay up top.

New Zealand suffered a huge defeat against South Africa. New Zealand were not alert at all in this match.  South Africa won the match in his abudant style. New Zealand played very badly in this match. Dewan Conway was out for six balls with 2 runs.  And  with that Rachin ravindra is out after 16 balls. Q Kock completed brilliant centery and he scored 114 runs in 116 balls and hitted ten 4s and three 6s and then T.Boult dismissed. R.Dussen also completed outstanding century by scoring 133 runs from 118 balls with nine 4s and five 6s. In bowling side, K.Maharaj took down 4 wickets with 46 runs in 9 overs.

I feel the wickets fell simply due to the scoreboard pressure, and any score over 300 will bring that psychological barrier and I expected this would happen immediately when NZ won the toss and said bowl first. Honestly why they chose to bowl?

SA lost to a low score while chasing against NED and the result almost same with Pakistan too but saved by that marginal mistake from umpire so why NZ didn't try to exploit their opposition weakness!

In this case it will never be possible to avoid the responsibility of the batting department.

My friend India has already qualified for the semi-finals along with South Africa. The other teams still have to win some matches before the qualification.
Australia is almost knocking at the door with 8 points, and their matches are against weaker teams, so you can say they will qualify easily. New Zealand, on the other hand, has to win all of its matches to book a slot in the semi-finals. Their defeat against SA has significantly dropped their net run rate. If Pakistan beats them with a margin of 80 to 90 runs or chased down the target in 30 to 35 overs, both teams will have a similar net run rate, and the last match of both these teams will decide the fate of 4th semifinalist.

Afghanistan and Pakistan are in good form now. If these two teams perform well in their upcoming matches, they have a chance to qualify for the semi-finals. We will have to wait until the last match to see which two teams will be third and fourth in the table.

India has 3 matches remaining. They can experiment from now on, but there are still permutations that would see them out of the semi-finals. So I would be rather cautious about today's match. Maybe they can experiment with 1-2 players, but resting most of the senior players need to wait till the 8th match. To their credit, Sri Lanka is in very poor form and even if India fields a second string side they are not going to put up any resistance. But then, India can't take any chances. The position on points table also matters, as first placed team need to face the 4th ranked team in semis.
