Big thanks from Maidsafe's leading dev and CEO. It took about a day or 4 for a bug to show up in TEST 12c. This is what Maidsafe does, they test locally, next they test with community and when bugs pop up they fix them. Here's a great read for people that want to know the exact details of this bug: https://github.com/maidsafe/crust/pull/825/commits/a578096e697cb51537af210b5f5131838db59b28There will be a new dev update today, I'll post it later on.

Maidsafe is giving us surprise in every alpha test, from last year to this year, and it is still alpha. Sometimes I can't hold the tokens any more, waiting for the final release is painful. Will it be released in 2020?

Will it be released in 2020? Way before that, we'll see a little update to TEST 12 with bugs removed and hopefully then we're good for Alpha 2. Routing is extremely important, if they allow people to run a Vault from home with Alpha 2 they need to test it to the max first. It takes time, but it's worth it.

They have gone on for 13 years how can anyone take this as a serious business? They are making 4.2 billion coins. It should not take that long. Tor didn't take long to make a anon internet. All you have to do is try out the alpha its not user friendly imo at all.

"They" won't make any coins, that's not how the system works. Coding in Rust started in 2015 (even though the company is 11 years old and did a lot of R&D) and brought us 11 testnets with working code in 2016. TOR hops you from 1 proxy to the other to bring you a website on the current www-internet. SAFE won't connect you to the current www. It has it's own websites and own DNS. It won't have centralized servers as well. Alpha 1 currently works with a "Launcher" and "Demo_app". Next iterations will use just 1 browser. That will be way more user friendly. But feel free not to like the project, no one can force you. I rather have a well tested working system instead of a buggy one. Soon 170 students from Glasgow university will start to code for SAFE as an assignment. SAFE will show its capabilities when we have more apps and "mutable data" implemented (it actually is implemented, still work on the API though). From that moment on we'll have coins and wallets etc.

Maidsafe team are doing a great job, It would be nice of the platform was out already as this has been taking wayyyy to long, but then again, building the future decentralised internet would never have been an easy slapdash task.
I still predict Maidsafe to reach 5 billion dollars + market cap!

MS should have had something out even if stripped down and working::
to try and launch all at once a fully functional product::
I have to confess all we see is endless announcements of tests or something like that.

What you want is exactly what they are doing: Self_Authentication works, Self_Encryption works as well. Their DNS is working, private and public data, upload of static websites. They launched Alpha 1 with all these features on a self controlled droplet network. In Alpha 2 we'll see support with Vaults from home and new routing. In Alpha 3 it's just starting 1 Browser (SAFE Browser) and you'll be online with support for dynamic data and extra APIs and NodeJS bundles etc. So in Alpha 3 we'll start to see external (D)Apps come online etc. It's a step by step process where each step becomes more interesting with more features for the users. "Mutable Data" will allow the first coins to show up on the network.
