TIPPING, what's the use? It seems that tipping is a bit one sided affair. Someone gives and the other just receives. So is tipping KARMA useless? Let's take a concrete example like in Facebook tipping. When we tip someone KARMA: 1. it creates an instant good vibe, because everyone loves receiving something and it is specially so when it is unexpected. 2. tipping eases a new comer into KARMA community, it forces the receiver to THINK about Karma, hopefully it will lead to his further actions too. Eventually gaining a comrade in spreading good Karma. 3. It keeps Karma liquid and distributed. 4. When you tip someone in FB, all his friends, relatives, acquaintances get a chance to "hear" about Karma even for an instant as it passes their busy walls. Whenever the receiver reacts to that by "liking" commenting or thanking that chance is multiplied. 5 By tipping our KARMASHARES LLC is saving in advertising costs. look at how a more or less 5 million karmas we have been tipping in FB compared to say 1200 dollars advertising budget? Whereas a paid advertising will only show a small thumbnail at the side of a user's wall, a tip makes the receiver more involved. Savings + Effectiveness 6. By giving tips, you feel good too. It's Karma at work. So why not share in this little yet effective effort. JOIN us. Get a piece of our happiness. https://www.facebook.com/groups/karmacoin/Thanks.

"CryptX.io has been shut down due to lack of volume. All customers were notified with over a month's notice to withdraw all funds."
Please remove CryptX.io from exchange sections here and wiki.
On the wiki section How to get KARMA there are 3 exchanges for BTC. Please, consider to add kraken.com
Done, except for the first page here Shawn can do it later.

The security in recent times is the main "extra" which is well received by the public. I wondered if it is possible to implement 2FA Google Authenticator in wallet of karma? Will be first and same coin with such extra and will be very well received by public. I think it will enhance the attention of many people if you advertise in 1-2 articles.

That is an awesome idea. Using Google services in the wallet for authentication is a good idea??? Sorry, but I do not agree... The idea of using crypto is to not rely on any central authority. And from all central authorities, google is arguably the one with most centralized power already...

Security would be improved if it were an optional extra, of course not replacing the current password. It would help protect against key loggers and other software based attacks rather than relying on offline wallets (which have to be brought online to be used) and security by obscurity. It would be an extremely complicated task to implement and would require the ability to temporarily freeze an address (deny transactions) only if the password is known/entered correctly and the authenticator code is not and entered incorrectly. This would be required for it to be practical otherwise the authenticator code could easily be brute forced. There could even be systems made to alert the user if it were somehow reported in the block chain, of course you would need to be careful to make it so the block chain can't be spammed.
Google wouldn't be authorising all transactions, only the ones that people want it to for additional security.

But .... tell me why you do not approve this method of protection since this is the most reliable at the moment and all exchanges trading coins explicit cue to be used for consumer protection? I will give an example of what made me think of this protection: Imagine you keyloggers or trojan virus on your PC! .... Wallet password you can easily end up in the wrong hands, but this may change if you use 2FA Google Authenticator. "The Thief" can not you take the code from the personal smartphone! So I think, but it may be wrong! Besides, what do you mean when you say "central authority"?

And from all central authorities, google is arguably the one with most centralized power already... I think there is a misunderstanding on how these authenticators work. The word Google is the scary part here I guess. But they do not rely on a centralized service hosted by Google or anybody else. It is simply a method to generate one-time passwords between between a client & server and relies on time information and a shared secret key. It is kind of an open standard by now and can be used/implemented by anyone. The idea is not bad, especially the protection from keyloggers that it offers. But such a feature would have to be planned carefully, to prevent any easy errors that could result in locking people out of their wallets for good.

Based on feedback received I made changes to the following thread so it is easier to read. Karma Finance & Accounting Workgroup primary objectives and task list for 2014-2015 http://karmashares.com/forums/index.php/topic,354.0.htmlTo encourage participation and enhance the results from the thread please advise on how the objectives and tasks should be determined: 1. In one thread that deals with everything (as it is now); 2. In two threads, with one thread to determine what the objectives should be and another to determine the tasks for each of the objectives; 3. In around half a dozen threads, one thread to determine what the objectives should be, separate threads to discuss each of the objectives tasks individually and a final thread for any tasks that are not large enough to become an overall objective; or 4. Another suggested format. If it were broken into two (or more) threads I will reference the original thread so that people have an idea of what tasks could potentially be covered under each objective. Please post replies in the thread linked above. Thanks. Chargin.

As a initiative to secure the blockchain we have taken up donations and gave them to http://karma.p2pool.altcoin.dk/ to offer additional block rewards to prompt desire to have the miner move into p2p pools.
From today this pool will pay %20 additional bonus on top of what you have already mined!!
Please help spread the news. P2P Pools are the answer to a safer network and will never cause a %51 attack.

Transferred some KARM over to MintPal like 4 hours ago and still 0 of 200 confirmations. What's going on? Blockchain looks to be still moving...
