Some master nodes are down, restoration is in process (it happens from time to time for some reason). Please be patient.

As crytponit mentioned we are working on and testing a new wallet to be released before the block reduction.
Security wise - changes made will be based on suggestions recently submitted by the community. More details will follow.

pokeytex Cheesy not these nodes !

The new release is mainly to address security concerns voiced by several people.

It was suggested, that the time span between PoW and PoS was too wide. Especially in the scenario of reduced PoW rewards.

Also we will no longer have foundation contributions. Maintenance is too costly.

This is a minor update and our focus is now on extending usefulness.

POS not working with Wallet v2.0.4.0

Maybe I am just noob, but I am not getting anything.

I got the new wallet setup in Feb and moved all 56 of my diamonds into it. The wallet has been online almost continuously since Feb 8
The icon in the lower right says:
  Minting
  Your weight is 1694
  Network weight is 2483052
Expected reward is in 10 day(s)

It always says reward in 7 or 10 days, but no reward ever shows up.

What am I missing?

Thanks

Don't quote me but it might be the number of DMD's you are holding just can't compete against the others?  I am not sure though.  I can tell you my wallet works everyday.

First of all, you simply might have been unlucky.

Secondly, I would also top up the amount up to 100 DMDs; default group stake mechanics sets coin piles at 100DMDs .. which means that even the biggest stake holders will have their coin piles in that amounts.

The tooltip with expected time for minting is not exactly accurate. It takes measurement of the network when you unlocked your wallet. You would have to lock and unlock again to see new estimation.

Another thing, PoS happens about only once every 10 minutes, which is quite rare occurrence.
With the new wallet coming out soon, this will change. Small stakers will have higher chance to mint blocks.

Yeah, staking works on weight, and competition is fierce. 56 coins really isn't alot. You're probably going to want a block bigger than 100. Once you get some more coins, you can go into Options > Display and check "Display coin control features". That way, you can combine your blocks when you click on Inputs in the Send Coins tab and get a better weight. You should get a stake about once a month though. Maybe a bit longer for 56 coins. For any POS coins, the "estimated time to reward" is a very rough estimation. Don't get discouraged if the coins don't stake within the time frame stated. DMDs POS is a bit different than other coins too. It's not required for you to have your wallet open to generate rewards (according to Cryptonit, from the following link)...

You can check out this thread in the DMD forums, alot is explained on minting here:

Damn, Pokytex - you stake every day? Sigh, I really chose the wrong line of work - haha. Musician for sale!

Hehe - I have been mining/purchasing Diamond a long time.  Eventually if you hold and keep increasing your position you will also mint everyday.  Never give up and never put in more than you can afford to lose.

I'm sorry, that minting thread actually says you only need to keep your wallet open for 1 day a month to get rewards. I kinda thought that was weird too, that's why I linked to the DMD forum where it said that. My bad for the misinformation.
http://bit.diamonds/community/index.php/topic,46.0.html

What's funny is that I was told to goto the BCT thread to ask questions because nobody kept the forum up to date... Guess that changed. Sorry.

Edit: And no, I didn't mean that you can leave your wallet closed for a month and open it one day to receive a stake from when it was closed. I just meant that from the information I was given, blocks would accrue weight just as they would if your wallet was open. Is this correct?

update from dev team:

we had today first testruns with new wallet (no its not dmd v3 that one  is months away)
instead it will be wallet 2.0.5.0

including changes at blocktimes to give pow/pos symetric block times and increase network security

the sync speed is optimized (special for the old blocks if someone sync from 0)

some community code changes in area support of raspery pi and pi2 where be added

foundation share at pow mining will be removed

and some other minior tweaks

full patchnotes will follow at release

we plan a few more testing rounds before release so is still some days away but should be early enought to be before total coins 1000000

it will be a mandatory wallet upgrade and the changes will go active at 1000000 total coins together with pow reward reduction

I still think that it would be extremely beneficial for DMD to be listed on some other exchange besides Cryptsy. I mentioned this on the DMD forums a while back, and Cryptonit had told me that after the demise of mintpal and usecryptos, you weren't seeking exchanges anymore. He had said that once volume increases, exchanges should add DMD naturally. While I agree, I think there is a pressing need to be listed on an exchange besides Cryptsy. Comkort now has a DMD market, but not many people use it... The volume is close to nothing there. I talk about DMD alot, and I try to bring new people into the fold - but when I mention it only trades is Cryptsy, most people don't want to touch it.

I think this is a good next step for Diamond. Once it's traded on a more common exchange, I think the volume as well as price will increase quite a bit. Just a suggestion from a long time DMD supporter. Wink

I just submitted a listing request form to Polo. Not much, but maybe it'll help a bit. Wink

The next reactor payment is just a few days away. The system operates perfectly.

Also, we are now 33k away from reward reduction, roughly just under 2 weeks until DMD supply shrinks. If you plan to get a bit more cheap DMD, now might be the time.

I have had no problems with it for a long time.
The last block time was friday march 20. It won't go past this time.

This happens, rarely, but it happens.

First try to restart your wallet.
If that does not work, you need to re-download your blockchain again.
That ll fix it 100%.
