So if one can't see the distribution of this coin how do we know there wasn't a giant premine or some way for the devs to just "counterfeit" coins en masse?  Easy, write the block chain explorer that hasn't yet bubbled up to the top of the development list for the devs that are working hard (and with no bounties) on implementing and extending a new to the most of us coin technology. This crypto is not like btc so tools like a block explorer have to be created without the aide of copy and paste. 80 + pages of comments seem to make this fairly clear. Too blunt? You don't have to have a web-based blockchain explorer. Type "help" in the daemon and you can get the commands to print out blockchain data right on the terminal. An explorer doesn't give unaccessible information either here or in Bitcoin. It's just an aggregator. True. That said, while I'm comfortable at the command line, even that is a little obtuse for me. Totally works, no argument, just not user friendly for analysis. And I'm a person who doesn't really see anything wrong with the current wallet. It's not hard to use (though the batch file for windows users should be with the downloads). The one who posted wzttide was in the IRC channel asking for MRO to test integration, so this is indeed a functioning CryptoNote exchange. It has more advanced functions like stop loss orders that aren't on Cryptsy/MintPal/etc. Added to OP.  |

You incorrectly credited me on the website (it was smooth). Also, it should be ./simplewallet not ./simpleminer. I should not post at 3AM  Sorry all, this is fixed now, thank eizh for corrections. Outdated compiler (it doesn't seem to support -std=c++11). Update to a newer g++. Would it be a good idea to update the install script so that it install the latest gcc version? If this is the only requirement, it would help older version to have monero. No, it's anonymous (which is the point  ). A separate public key is generated for each input and they're difficult to link by blockchain analysis. So we will never have richlist for monero, right? |

Can someone explain to me why on earth you would have a platform-dependent blockchain/wallet file format?
It's not that hard to make a change which provides both backward-compatibility and platform-independence, but those who can do it mostly have other priorities. No, I mean, it's not that it's "not hard" to do. It's that you sort of have to try not to. I'm assuming there's a reason. boost::serialization isn't cross-platform |

I am baffled by the complete lack of instructions for the software associated with this coin. Can someone put some instructions on how to get started with the wallet and mining? I am sure there is something within one of these 80+ pages but do we all have to reinvent the wheel?

seriously man...sooo frustrating... What are you having trouble with and I can likely help, its not that difficult but I agree it takes a moment to learn rather that a copy paste qt. |

Okay I missed that one (it does compiler for me on Ubuntu). Can you be more specific? Give me just a minute. I'll attempt to compile it yet again and then post the results. Here you are. I don't have ".../AppData/bitmonero" folder, what should I do? In what place blockchain.bin should be placed?
Also, with "show_hr" command I got "Mining is not started". I'm starting by bat-file from "getting started".

You might be able to blame the compiler for the debug build failure, but saying a compiler bug is responsible for the regular build failure is ludicrous. Whether or not its a problem with the compiler has to be eliminated. If you refuse to eliminate it as a factor then we will end up with the same discussion over and over; that is the ludicrous part. Come back when you're ready to fix your problem, otherwise just deal with it yourself. |

It seems you use Windows XP. I don't sure that 32-bit wallet can work under Win XP. Try it on Win 7 or Eight. |
