Assuming you didn't do anything really stupid, that's quite a gap. It could mean that the author implemented it pretty badly. What CPU is it, perhaps I can improve the performance? 24 x Intel Xeon L5639 @ 2.13GHz (2 sockets). I checked hash rate with http://198.199.79.100 statistics Okay, er... wut? 24 x Intel Xeon L5639 -- 24 processors? Nah, he probably meant cores; typo (2 sockets) -- Wait, if he's running two Xeon L5639s... that would be 8 physical cores and 16 threads. Where is 24 coming from? Looks like it is 6 physical cores x 2 cpus = 12 physical cores --> 24 threads. Yes, I incorrectly said. 24 threads |

On ubuntu with my quad core i3, I get ~5 h/s with cpuminer. That is slightly more than what I get solo mining.
Also LucasJones pushed an update to Github a few hours ago that optimizes the cryptonight hash for cpuminer a bit...

Did you compile it with -O3 and -march=native? It wouldn't matter with the original cpuminer, because most of its speed-critical code is handled in assembly, but it probably matters for this. If you want even more of a speedup, see what you can do with the OpenSSL lib, and link with your custom-built one. I don't think it uses openssl for the CryptoNight hashing but -march certainly might make a difference, or possibly other compiler options (though -O3 should be pretty good). |

Trying to figure out my disconnects from multiple machines/locations as well as why hashing shows lower than solo. |

Is a GPU miner ready?
I dont see the point releasing "cpu coin only" as that is then only in hands of botnet managers and big server renters.. mere mortals dont have a chance...
if you want this coin to spread, lets make it gpu mineable..
vert coin and dark coin cought fire after it was possible to mine on gpu, they both started as cpu only.. but this is just not that popular.. it only smells as "instamine" into hands of few and then puting it "public" by releasing gpu miner.. :/
