No. He is not.
He only developes the miner as far as I know.

But one should stick with open source miners. This way you are not dependent on a single piece of software you can not control to get your rig running.
If you only got a few CPUs or cards, it not a big deal, but if you own a farm, you can get in trouble very fast with AMD and a closed source miner.

Speaking of network safety: Just imagine a closed source mining software for AMD GPUs that stops working on a specific date in the future. It would cripple the network down to less than 50% nominal rate and leave it exposed to all kind of nasty things... you do not want that. Really.

But both coins get beaten up. I blame lack of believe in a useability of cryptocurrencies manifestating. The opposite market oppining from the former crypto goldrush.

Actual use of both coins is negligible. It is slightly higher for BTC, as people do use it to buy mining gear, but that's still "inside baseball."

Demand for BTC, XMR, and every other coin is almost entirely speculative, so changes in demand (i.e. from 80 BTC/day to 50 BTC/day, or 2m USD/day to 1.5m USD/day) are changes in speculative sentiment. Everything else is down in the noise.

How can some-other-coin be more profitable than XMR when there are no buyers?

I would question that too.

The algorithm used for the coin seems to be credible to mine on CPUs, but I wonder how you even calculate profitability without buyers.

is this coin still controlled by claymore?

Why do you say that?

Are there any numbers about the percentage of coins being generated by the claymore miner?

so the game is still the same? percentages from miner go to one man?
no other gpu miners out there?

My recollection is that his developer fee is down to 2.5%. He probably dumps it, but for that to matter really you'd have to imagine that a lot more than 2.5% of the coins being mined by the miners themselves are not also being dumped, which is fairly implausible. If they are even dumping just 10% (and no one else in the entire world is dumping) then claymore's share of the dumping is only 1/5.

If you mean "payment ID" that is not required to send to your own personal wallet. It is only needed when sending to an exchange or in theory a merchant (though I don't know of any).

Transferring from exchange to your own wallet does not need payment ID.

I think everything is fine but you are sending too small an amount of XMR. The minimum fee is 0.1 XMR and everything less than that is considered dust and added to the miner fee, I think. So try sending 1 XMR as a test.

Your transaction ID isnt showing up on the blockchain, but that's not surprising because your bitmonerod is showing as not synced. I might be getting confused but that error you are getting looks like the network fork from 4th Sept, somehow your daemon got stuck on the wrong fork. You might also be on completely the wrong version of bitmonerod, as I'm pretty sure we are still running on version 8.8.x - the 8.9 version is from a discontinued fork.

Suggest you make a couple of backups of your wallet.bin.keys file and then wipe your bitmonero install and start again from the links on the OP of this thread. Good news is you wont have lost any coins Smiley

Due to inactivity? Is is about the Web of Trust part? If yes then you can just skip it entirely (and complete it later)

Do we really need to have email confirmations to make an account?
