How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years?

lets see bitcoin price now,its almost $300 and more,depending that price,you need 200BTC and more,for 20 years,it will very enough if bitcoin price year to year is going up,touch until $500 per bitcoin,but if bitcoin price going down year to year,you need more bitcoin.
just take a middle,if bitcoin price stagnant,than you need 500BTC for 20 year.

Why just 2 BTC ? if in 20 years bitcoin price $10k and you just have 2 Btc, and many people have a lot bitcoin there you will regret not having many bitcoin.

I say buy as much as you can, Bitcoin is pretty much here to stay now. The value of bitcoin isn't going down in the long run. As for bitcoin being $10k a pop in 20 years. I think you don't think you know how many times bitcoin has doubled in price in the last five years. I mean it started being worth nothing and now it has grew to $300 a pop. That's just in five years. If the same pattern continues, I think that we'll all be rich boys.

First of all quantum computing is not that close to come as some may think.
And secondly there is the possibility to switch to another hash algo if needed.
I wouldn't worry too much about that.

If you want to live on the streets and be poor, yes you need 1 Million to retire.  If you want to have a decent life you probably are looking around 3-5 million.  You are going to need more than 100 coins in order to get that amount.  Good luck!

Well 20 years is a long time you can buy 0.5 BTC every 3 months.

And with that you can retire. Maybe over 20 years BTC is 1500USD plus.

I think you wont need more than 5 bitcoin. Heck, even 2, if you're serious about 20 year period.
I currently hold somewhere between 30 and 50 50 is the biggest BTC amount I've had
