You're skipping a version there Cheesy

But the plan is for any existing CureCoins to move seamlessly into future versions of the coin. Your coins will not become useless/deprecated.

While I can't say anything to future price given the instability of cryptocurrency in general, all curecoins will transfer over to cc2.0/3.0 Smiley

Will the minting rate be the same in cc2.0?
Do you have an ETA for cc2.0?

Mining will likely remain very similar, if not the same to the present curecoin.
cc2.0 is a ways off, and it's going to need some extensive (private and public) testing before we push it into production, but it's moving along Smiley

Guys,

First of all thanks for the reassurance that my curecoins won't become useless.

Secondly can you please advise how many cure coins will be in existence and how many have been produced?

Does curecoin has any relationship with foldingcoin?

What is the best platform to obtain curecoins currently?

Thanks

There's a page in the KB where we link a spreadsheet showing the details on premine and future mintage plans. This should answer your first question.

CureCoin is not involved with FoldingCoin, and predates it significantly.

For obtaining, it depends on how you define "best". Do you mean best way to Fold, or best between folding/SHA mining/buying?

Just had a great idea here, not sure how practical this idea is, but here goes. When we list the coin on an exchange, can we work out a deal with the exchange whereby a part of the transaction fee that is charged to buy and sell this coin could be diverted to a fund to cure diseases. There could be a special wallet which we could use to collect these funds and used for disease research, the transactions could be available for everyone to see on the blockchain. This way even those who mine using ASIC's will be contributing to the greater cause of helping to cure diseases! This was just a thought that i had, so sorry if it was OT, but i think that is a great idea and something that could be done. Smiley

I like your idea very much and this will certainly create some media buzz...

Now in terms of buying some curecoins where would you recommend to go? I have a 5 year old laptop so I am not sure that it makes any sense to do folding, correct? I have tried this in the past for ripple labs and my laptop was about to explode and I have only received an insignificant amount of xrps in return..

Hi,

In case you want to buy them, you can try Bittrex, they have a market on there. Price of 1 Curecoin : 0.00007513 BTC.

You could also try renting a miner and mine them as well, i am mining on minep.it with a rental.

AFAIK, you can do folding@home on any computer (Mods /Admin: Correct me if i am wrong.). I used to run the client on my old AMD 1 GHz based desktop computer and had no problems whatsoever! Never tried using the client on a notebook though, i do believe they would heat up significantly though.

Hey! As long as you signed up at cryptobullionpools with the username 'bl4ckj4ck445', you should see your account credited for the folding in a maximum of 48 hours, though it is usually far less. Smiley

Hi Guys,

Have an issue with my CUR wallet. I downloaded the wallet and and installed it yesterday. I have mined around 45 coins which are in the wallet right now. At the bottom left of the wallet, i see an error which says "Info: Minting suspended due to locked wallet". I cannot find any option anywhere to unlock the wallet so that minting takes place. I have a Latium wallet which gives me the same error, but there is a button on the wallet which enables me to unlock it. I have checked all the options on the cure wallet, but cannot find anyway to unlock it. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

CureCoin's Proof of Stake mintage begins in 30 days, and maxes out in 90. While your stake is higher the closer you get to 90, you may find better returns by regularly minting closer to 30 days.
The CureCoin wallet takes care of this whole process for you. It must be unlocked and open in order to Mint.
To Unlock your wallet, go to "Help" > "Debug Window" and choose the Console tab. Here, enter 'walletpassphrase <your password> 99999999 true' and hit enter*. As a precautionary measure, clear the console window and then close it. After a few moments, your wallet will be ready to mint.
The above unlocking procedure only applies to Encrypted Wallets. An unencrypted wallet will mint, but is unsecure. Its recommended that you ALWAYS encrypt your wallet.
*99999999 is the time, in seconds, to remain unlocked. You may choose to unlock for shorter periods, if you like, but run the chance of re-locking before mintage is complete.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

my wallet is encrypted and i tried the steps suggested, i get a message: Method not found (code -32601). What does this mean? Should I just wait and try closer to the POS mintage date? I think its crazy that we need to unlock the wallet this way, especially when it comes to typing in your passphrase into a terminal window, not sure that is very safe! Shouldn't the dev look at an easier method to unlock the wallet? Just saying, since i find it much easier on Lat.

Did you paste this in to the therminal?
walletpassphrase <your password> 99999999 true
and changed <your password> to your password?
with your password:
walletpassphrase 1234 99999999 true
It's working I'm using it!

will entities be able to use curecoins to buy processing power?  I am a little unclear on the reason someone will want to buy the coin going forward?
