Looking forward to a bright future here.
If you invest in XC NOW!! your future is bright, can almost guarantee you a 1k investment today will be worth a million in 3-5 years time...sounds crazy hey!...it's not...

I worked it out, with your hold that would mean your 50 Million $ Richer in 3 -5 Years !!!!!  who knows...... Out of all the Alts out there currently though, i can confidently say, those with more volume at the moment than XC are going Nowhere.

I'll try and explain what i mean in fashion terms !!

XC is the Levis jeans of the Crypto Innovation, solid, steady and will be just as strong for years to come.

The others to me just aren't marketable to the mainstream which mainly tech savvy understand, this is starting to change though.  Bit like elderly people with smart phones, I'm pretty sure everyone here knows a Gran or Grandpa you'd never of expected to use a smart phone USING a smart phone!!  Sure it was difficult for them to learn, but the first few that did where like, you know what... this actually is pretty cool.  Few years on i see 60 Year old's on smart phones really ENJOYING it!  And when Grandpa A sees Garandpa B using one, it's nothing but growth after that!  It gives them confidence to change habits they would not of otherwise changed, like trusting on-line banking and shopping on-line.  Why is this important you might ask?  I believe we are at the X over point now with XC.  It's not perfect but it's extremely marketable and has everything needed to go Hyper.

+1 XC has all the things it needs to push crypto mainstream, it's a currency like BTC but..it's anonymous add on anonymous txt voice and video communication and you have a winner..but that's just part of the tech and you got too take into consideration the team behind it..look what Dan and the team have achieved with minimal funding behind them wait till they have major funding behind them....+ plus Dan has been the CEO of a major company he knows how to manage XC when it gets BTC big...XC is a diamond in the rough.

atcsecure just needs to develop a decentralized exchange.  Smiley
Maybe some day, but for now I think investors need to know the "fork or not" position of the core team. After the first time you could let it rest but now that another $2m of coins got stolen/held in ransom a clear statement would clear the air.

some day?? that shit is less the 12 months off, I cant remember an XC fork correct me if im wrong, XC is next level shit I been around since BTC early days, XC is what we have been waiting for.

IMO, the XC dev team should take the stance that XC is decentralized and they can't roll it back.  That's it, nothing can be done except try to identify the thief and catch him/her.
Agreed, but all I did was buy some XC in the early days. This desition belongs to to ATC.
For alt world outsiders a rollback is a big red warning flag. Think that if ATC is clear upfront it will clear the air.

edit: stake or take the risk

NEVER do a rollback. I can't take any coin that does a rollback seriously, because then you've just elected the dev as your central authority. Why not just use fiat if you're ok with that?

If any XC gets ripped off from exchanges being hacked too bad in my opinion no fork no nothing... serves you right for not caring about something so precious to begin with, would you have BTC sitting on an exchange?Huh well XC is more valuable in the long run then BTC in my opinion more fool you...better luck next time(if there is a next time) try getting BTC to fork if you get your BTC stolen just ridiculous....

My understanding is that PoS requires consensus on 51% or more of the coins?  If this is the case and the dev holds 51% of the coins ... then it's working like it should isn't it?

Please do not insinuate in any way ATC is holding anywhere near that amount

Looking forward to a bright future here.

future is always bright if you have a faith in it

XC has been at a base of 120-140k sats for months now.  Really, anyone getting in now is "smart money," & an "early adopter."  The price is only going to go up... no one is willing to sell below this base, that much is clear -- and XC is daily getting stronger, more innovative, and increasing it's investor support / market awareness.

As the saying goes, "the longer the base, the higher in space."  See you guys at the moon.

The question is, when will it go up? Everybody keeps saying it will go up and there is no reason that it shouldn't go up, but it is just frozen with people holding it.

Damn, it's awfully quiet in here and on the exchange. A friend I recently convinced about XC wants to buy 25 btc worth of XC. Anyone willing to sell otc? Please PM me.

Here's an idea:

- every so often, some of us will want to sell XC to pay salaries, rent, etc.

- why don't we post the amount and asking price here and see if there are any takers?

- if there's a deal, trades can take place on Mintpal, which will keep the volume up.

- and the community will understand the reason for selling rather than being perturbed/outraged at the stupidity of sellers.

P.S. This was Bisky's idea. Thanks Bisky!

P.P.S. This would only make sense to those who want to see the price head upwards but still need to sell some XC.

Good plan Wink

Sounds like a great idea. But, shouldn't this be done on a separate sub-thread? I mean, XC trade thread could deal with whatever people want to exchange.

Possibly...

But that would remove one of its advantages, which is to let community members know what the selling is for.

I reckon that sell offers should be posted publicly, negotiated privately, and then final agreements to trade posted publicly.

After that the community can sit back and watch the trade take place on Bitcoinwisdom.

For a coin that is based on privacy, this discussion seems a bit odd to me.

Why should I disclose to the community that I am selling some XC?  What about buying XC, should we make that public too?  Or is it just to calm the ones that freak out when the price goes down?

Why try and centralize the trading of a decentralized currency? I'm confused.  Huh

24hr volume on mintpal - 8 btc... stalemate.

Don't think I've ever seen the volume this low for XC.

This is a really bad idea. If you want to sell just go to the exchange and don't hang your dirty linen out in public. You will end up convincing others to sell for similar reasons when they may have just held.

I agree with no rollback.

One idea is to embark upon a community PSA describing the dangers of holding on an exchange and reinforcing the reasons for maintaining XC in personal wallets.  A sort of guide that would act as a FAQ and/or How-to that could be of benefit to new users and other communities as well....

We need to be encouraging personal responsibility here since alt coins are designed to be held by the individual.  Education is key and it isn't really too difficult even for the non tech inclined...

XC is intentionally designed to be optionally private. XC was never envisioned as being 100% private for all transactions, there are many legitimate use cases where a user won't want to turn on privacy. They key thing is XC empowers the user with the choice.

They were speaking hypothetically, in reference to NXT / VRC, if XC were to face a similar scenario.
