How much NEM is "0.1?" stake

Code:

  1 nemstake == 1'000'000  NEM

Should we have a vote on the most preferred logo? I can hold one if the development team is too busy to do that. Never mind the last comment about "sperms" but seriously don't blow the community's opinion away.

Do what is best for the community. Logo should be accompanied with an explanation behind it. And remember, NEM IS NOT A COIN per se.  It is an ecosystem we are building and should not just look like a coin.

Creativity must therefore stem from the philosophy of this project in totality.

That's why I said giving the texts to a designer and let he does the magic. I don't understand other half of your reply which is not relevant to my request.

Everyone has a circle of competency. Be frank if I may, the logo in the current form is put together by someone not competent at making logos. There is a lack in color harmony, form and originality.

Or hold a logo competition so best designers can compete to represent your ideas.

The new LOGO is kinda stylish, but I doubt that it will cause some risks in the Christian world  Sad

http://www.sodahead.com/living/how-many-biblical-references-are-there-for-666-the-number-of-the-beast/question-3299455/?slide=2

In that page is a 4 x 4 picture, whose smaller pictures contain "nemish logos", numbers 2, 9 , 11, 12, 15.

I understood that NEM LOGO's history is in Asian culture. That may be free from "666", but the Western World is not.

Will the devs take the risk with that LOGO  Huh

Sorry but i find this rather pathetic. If anyone is prepared to go to such lengths to see something that isn't there, then thats their choice (religion is, after all, notorious for this). Doesn't mean the development team should pamper to it (and therefore justify/encourage the behavior)

ultimately, people, for whatever reason, are always going to be upset. It's the way it goes. Devs need to decide who has legitimate criticisms and act accordingly. This is an example whereby it isn't legit. By pussyfooting around such silly things, they're only going to waste their time and damage the project, and it's reputation (as sane individuals will be scared off - who would participate if devs havn't got their priorities straight?)

it's like you said, when we think logically.
Haters will not think so. They will seek the weak points of NEM and this 666 may be that.
NEM should tempt masses of people. The masses won't act with sense, they act with fear and hope and greed. There' lies the numbers and their magic. ... for example try market NEM 4.0 to China  Wink
The question is not about dev's sense, not at all, this has nothing to do with sense, not even the sense's control.

The complex logos may cause risks. Maybe that is the reason why MasterCard and Visa have so simple and dull logos.

A Chinese guy worked with me on the logo design and write-up. There are similar symbols in India, China, and Korea, etc, so I don't think it is a problem.

There are no numbers in the logo and we are not against any religion, so don't worry so much  Cheesy

I am sad when I see this. This breaks the consistency and styling of the original logo. The author is not going to like it.

It is not the most important issue, but i think, logo needs voting. The logo (3 sp...) too agglomerated, causes strange associations and repels.

Hi,
I still running some issues when I try to run the alpha. What it concern me most is that it is suppose that the account TAXJNSWDCTWKLQWRHGH6OO2GWE2T4HDPZ5GRFJEX is part of the genesis block. However, when I try to enter it (using the private key), it appears a complete different account without any NEM
The other issue is when I try to boot the local node. It appears an error that say that there is an invalid NIS  Huh
Thanks for any input

That's not a feature dude.
Say 1 NEM is one day worth 1 USD. How are you planning to pay for your 50 cent chocolate bar ?
Imagine the smallest unit of BTC would be 1 BTC. Yeah, go ahead and pay 500 USD for whatever.

well, if there will be a day 1NEM=1USD,, we can update the client,, and divide.
or at least make it like money,, 2 decimals.

just looking at all altcoins,, most of them are valueless, but you are fucked up when u trade them with 8 figures after decimal.

I think he meant instead of 4 billion NEM, you would have 4 billion x 1000000 NEM? Then don't need divisions?

I think 1 NEM = $1000 is possible one day Cheesy

I agree with this.  I like the round logo, but the cube one used before is just a stronger design.  I hope there's a vote?

I think problem with logo is that it looks very much like Brazuka.

I'm fine with the logo now because at least there is an "official" one.

I'm pretty sure the current logo is just an "alpha" just like the NEM code. I think later on it will be better to hire pros and use that. I'm also fine with a community vote. But really NXT hired pros and when they did it help out a lot.

One thing to consider is how it looks on coinmarketcap compared to other coins. Another person pointed out that the Zoro NEM sign that was there for a little while was better than all the others. I went and looked and yes when compared to other coins in a chart the NEM Zoro sign definitely was the best and inspired the most confidence, though I think the color could be better.

Ultimately branding is going to be HUGE, but not right now. Right now it's about staying together as a community and getting a good foundational product going.

Totally agree to have a logo competition. In fact, I cannot adapt to every single request on logo design because this work take much time, also it's not ensured at all that everyone will all accept that revision.

It's not a good move to announce the official logo when it's not yet finished.

If we're gonna change the logo later, why don't we choose the most beautiful & professional one since consistent professional image is more important than a wordy meaningful story that could be updated later, imho?

And yes, as a designer, I'm really sad to have my original design changed by another one, especially when it looks not as good as the original one.
