Whats the best way to stack these? Currently I have mine on their side sitting on top of each other. Should I take off the cases or are they fine with them on? I don't plan on OC'ing ATM.
W/O a custom rig the best way is just on their sides like you have them. Double check temps to make sure they aren't causing any restrictions. I put my S1s vertically, one simple 2x4s, with the inlet on the bottom, and outlet on the top. I put a set (whatever I can fit on one PSU) together, spaced apart as wide as I can get them but still be in the airflow of a box fan. M Trying to visualize this.. do you have a pic of the setup? No I don't. And I only have one S1 now. Here's a diagram... The tricky part was finding the best spot for the PSU. Fortunately the cables are just long enough to fit everything as depicted here, perhaps with the PSU a little further in. M

The OP was asking about physically stacking, you didn't have these stacked, correct? No. I tried stacking them and they rapidly overheated. Maybe with the S3s enclosed that would work better. This way I was able to use less space compared to just laying them horizontally. M

Been watching your development on it since the early days and excited to try it out (hopefully) for the S3s Yes I do. The initial pricing of S3s was too high, I can't see them making an ROI. I'm hoping the next round will be better. That said, I thought I saw someone say my AntMonitor was giving good readings on their S3. Although I did post in my thread if anyone had tried it yet, as they seem to be basically identical, just faster, than the S1, so I suspect they'll work when added as an S1... but not a single person has responded. M EDIT: I haven't been feeling the best recently, and my posts show it. What I meant to say was I don't have any S3s yet because I believe they were overpriced.

re: Silencing the beeper.
A short M3 bolt screws nicely into the hole on top of the buzzer.
Then again, I don't think it's needed to beep since I put it in - I had two beeps last night before I decided to shut it down to save being asked "what's beeping? has the freezer door been left open?" again.

They are also sitting up where the ac vent blows right into the intake fan so i'm guessing that helps. But they have been going solid for 5 hours now. I do seem to have a lot of discarded shares though.. On one pool its roughly 5x the amount of my accepted shares and another pool its around 20x..

Looking good Since stacking them have you noticed any increase in temps and/or decrease in hashrate? Nope. They have been on for 5 hours now, I stacked them like this about 2 hours ago and nothing has changed. The real test would be 3+ stacked and two rows butted up to each other..

It works, just set as S1 what freq do you use? I ask because you have 428 gh on one of them and 445 gh on the other. if you are at 218 and the 428gh one stays at 428 gh you may want to down clock it to freq 212.5 I did this and I use less power with better rejects. I still get 430gh

Bloody hell.... I can't keep up with this thread!! Miss one day is like missing a year, yikes! Anyways... That's the downside with a pre-order market, scams are so easy and innocent. You should capture the PayPal email you sent cash to and google it to see if there were previous complaints. Contact the seller itself, PP will think you're a joker looking for a freeride if you don't even do that. All you need to tell PayPal is that this seller is impersonating the Manufacturer's website, aren't an authorized reseller and you want your money back so you can buy from the manufacturer. You can also, and SHOULD ALWAYS google a domain name (websitename.com) + words like "scam" or "complaints" and you can usually find some real experiences. Watch for fake reviews too, they just look WAY too generic. Start by contacting the seller, wait 72 hours for a reply. Take your money back REGARDLESS don't take credit, altCoin, money order, nothing else but a refund. hey thanks for the long reply, I contacted the seller and received this response : We are not a scam. Your order is scheduled to be shipped out on July 30 as indicated on our website. We do not send out any other confirmation emails besides the Paypal confirmation. The phone number we have listed is also used for our other business which is why you heard a different company name after hours. You can call between 9am-5pm PST and speak to a live person at that number. We do operate several different websites selling different brands of mining hardware. That only serves to show that we are a real business. In any case, we will refund your order if you wish but please note that will mean your order will be removed from the July 30 batch. We are almost sold out of that batch (we estimate by tomorrow) so once removed, you may get a a later ship date if you reorder later. Please confirm if you wish to keep your order or get a refund and we will honor your request either way. so not really sure what to make of that. I messaged them back asking how do they explain the fact they are saying that batch 4 will be shippin out 30/7. This couyld be just delaying tactic so they can collect as many orders and then simply shut down and disappear. They offered refund so unless they can provide me with a logical reply, I will ask for a refund. It all still stinks though. btw I did google the domain name with "scam" but nothing came up, same goes for the other website they had setup. I also did a trace on the domains which seemed to be setup early this year and all looked legit. The wierd thing is that there is not much mention of these guys on forums which I would have expected to have at LEAST ONE user say they ordered from them and received all goods ok. Anyways, will see what happens over next few hours.

One of my only gripes with mine (outside an unneeded UPS shipment release frustration bomb - would only release 1 of 2 boxes to my front door)...
It lists on the UPS label on each box "Description: BITCOIN MINER" - Still not comfortable with this being out in the open given what the hardware is...

I would say a scathing insult about using paperclips. But it is your gear and your money. I won't use paper clips. I won't use server psu's. same reason for either of the above. shock/short hazard. I sale my gear used and tested on ebay or to local miners. So I don't sell gear that has short/shock hazards. Oh the scathing insult is don't be "stupid cheap" or better known as : "pennywise pound foolish" and those paperclips would fit that bill. as would the server psu's in any home with kids or pets. I think there is a slight misunderstanding here: 1) Phil resells some fraction of his stuff, so he uses something that has a veneer of being CE, UL compliant because he will sell to noobs. There is no need to dump on his method. 2) The paper clip shorting plug solution is functionally ok. With a pair of wire cutters you can get 2 - 4 "shorting plugs". If you are worried about shorting something out, cut a 1" length of electrical tape and cover or if you want to go broadway, couldn't you urethane coat the exposed part. I'm a paperclip person because it's fast, reliable and cheap for me. Number 1) is why I don't use paperclips. It is also why I don't use the server psu's. _______________________________________________________________________________ ____________________ If I mined my gear exclusively until it died I would use paperclips. I still would not use the server psu with a breakout board. A simple explanation for me I max at 8 to 10 s-1's or s-3's. Evga 1300 watt, seasonic 1000 watt plat seasonic 750 watt plat all have really long warranties. I have been mining for 28-30 months. They pay off in under a year as they all use less power then the server psu's. If the mining game fully dies I will use the psu's in pc builds I have had the seasonic plats for a while started using them with my gpus. they are paid off in power savings. The evga won't pay off for about 5 more months. I have found that if you roll up the foil wrapper from a piece of gum that works best. And it's cheaper than a paper clip!!

This is idiotic: each box "Description: BITCOIN MINER" - they might as well say "PLEASE STEAL ME!" Who put the description on the box, UPS or Bitmain? That means more eyes on our personal business. Especially if we live in repressive countries.
