Just put down for two more on batch 5. I bet Bitmain is betting on another few rounds of low difficulty jumps to justify the slight decrease in price between batches. Judging by how much of the network they can control when they batch test, I'm going to bet the price is probably in line with expected network growth.

It all depends on how you calculate your ROI. If you have a bunch of equipment that's already paid for itself, you can choose to calculate that hash towards your most recent purchase and write off the hardware much sooner. Much easier to calculate any gains down the road that way.

no, just order them and send bitmain the btc within 15 mins. Make sure your address is right so they can ship it to you. Simple, straightforward, and the product is awesome. I love these new units.

You need an antenna, but it has wifi built in.

Is the wifi set up the same as with the S1's?  I don't see this anywhere in the doc nor do is see the SME connector in the pics.  Just bought five S3s (batch 5) and have been running seven S1s on WiFi with absolutely no issues for months.  Thought I was going to have to hardwire for the S3s, but would love to avoid doing so, if possible/practical.  Is anyone actually running S3s on WiFi?  If so, are there any issues to be aware of?

I'm running one S3 on wifi and another hard wired, but that's because it can't get the signal strong enough for the wifi where it has to be located for the time being. The one running wifi isn't using an antennae.

Yes but you have to open the case and keep it that way. They were too lazy/cheap to connect a pigtail.

Hmmm...I know the case is critical to maintaining airflow / cooling, so I definitely don't want to take it off permanently.  Depending on where the SMA connector is positioned, I might just try to drill a hole (probably not so small) in one, connect an antenna and see what happens to the temps.  If anyone has a pic or can describe the position of the SMA connector, that would be very helpful. For example, is it in the same place as on the S1s?  Thanks in advance.

...  Seems to go down after a few hours...

I have this same issue with one of mine.  Does fine for a while then tanks until I reboot, then fine again for a while.  The amount of time it runs fine seems to vary A LOT.  Sometimes short, sometimes for hours on end.  But so far it always eventually tanks to sub 300 Ghs until I reboot it.  No x's or -'s in the GUI.  Not sure what to make of it.

Got mine yesterday.  One work fine at 449G per pool stat., but the other one is not working  . 

Half of the ASIC was xxxxx.  I tried to change psu, cable, shutdown the one working and switch to this one (in case my new RM1000 is not working or not have capacity), reset it, change ethernet cable.  I even change the place 20 km apart!  Nothing work. 

I did show it got all 3 workers alive and the first one even get work (but discard them all).  Pool stat. said it was touched in 11 hours ago but not lately.  I double check the tailoring is the same (DHCP etc.) and hence it might not be mine.

(I did open the case see whether there is any thermal paste.  Nothing.  Hence not for that reason.)

Have to get back to Bitman for maintenance.  A bit disappointed.  6 S1 since April is all fine and hence may have too high expectation on its working.

Solved by install the firmware to get the "failover" menu (which the shipped one menu does not have it).  Did install 2 times as the first time preserve the settings does not work.  They are both 430G+.  Cheers!

I think item is not clear about something as manufacture, origins, specifications, invoice...
Customs do not accept to export/import it.
If it will be exported from china, i think when it go to your country, it will have same problems with customs in your country

I really wish Bitmain would make a post about Batch 4 and the reported issues we've had with the first three batches.

Not sure if I should take the refund or coupon. Performance is less than 7.7% difference on some units, it appears ~33.33% (3 repeating, of course...) of the units exhibit performance below the stated 441GH/s, and the random beeping... OH THE BEEPING... WHY GOD, WHY !?!???

I wish there was a way to BUY from bitmaintech without it just selling out instantly

As for WiFi, I posted some pics way back when I got my B1 S3s (pretty sure I was the first! ), showing the controller board with the U.FL connector on it. Can't remember which page it was on but yes, I can confirm WiFi does work, and all you need is a pigtail and antenna. I was going to drill a hole but never got around to it, instead the pigtail is hanging out the same gap the fan wires come from. Might do a more permanent upgrade on my two new B4 units that will be coming my way.

Also, query for Bitmain:
Is the version of CGMiner on the units going to be upgraded any time soon? I'd love to see a more recent version of it or BFGMiner available, preferably one which doesn't absolutely kill the CPU usage on the controller board.
