Very nice Presstab, the only thing missing which i thought was very useful is the block count in coin control (Tree view) the coin count is there, do you think you could squeeze it in on your next update please. Also i want to give a % of my stake back to the community, can i have an address? to put into stake for charity (S4C) Fantastic work, you're the best Dev in town Dexpla, try selecting the checkbox on tree mode, and then see Quantity updated at the top is the number of blocks. I can add this on the list for the next one. Look at the OP there is a bounty address - pAvP3gYfuyDVbUt98ToMbwU9rwEdBV1dHW . As of this week I have that address staking on a 24/7 daemon, which not only rewards our community holdings nicely, but also ensure network stability and transaction times. Sorted, it just needed dragging over a bit, thanks for the addy i'll put in in now! 5% ok

Can the most recent TRK and HYP releases for the public stake with both open? If not, what fix is required?
I setup a custom port in the TRK conf file just in case: rpcport=18875 port=18876 The ports just need to be different from the HYP ports. Thanks. If I make this change to TRK, do I need to do anything to HYP or can I just leave HYP alone? You can change on the hyperstake.conf, it's work (binding verify with debug.log) not for truckcoin . So hyperstake.conf for staking can be server=1 port=18777

StakeHunter has published a proposal: high PoS with demurrage https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=498739.msg8023294#msg8023294So, I had another thought. And call me crazy, but I'm going to throw it out there. What about a POS coin with demurrage.
The "problem" with POS coins: "inflation." Everyone wants high stake, but wants to control inflation. So we set a max coin cap, or we decrease the stake percentage over time to some eventual minimal inflation.
However, the attraction of the POS coin is that you can earn high %. But when that goes away the excitement is gone many seek greener pastures and newer coins with newer features.
That's where demurrage comes in, or negative stake (nstake). A coin could always offer high positive stake (pstake) because it will never suffer from inflation due to its nstake. The theory is that the nstake has a flag that is set when a number of coins is reached and increases to slow the pstake. Once a second coin point is reach nstake is increased above pstake to bring the coins down. It is a hysteresis effect to avoid market shock. There would be an ebb and flow around a soft coin cap chosen by the dev team.
Such a coin would have to have two stake ages computed: nstake age and pstake age. Nstake age would have to be faster than pstake age to hit every wallet - something like 6 hours. While pstake age would be longer: a day, 3 days, whatever.
In theory the coins would congregate to the clients that spend the most time staking. In other words the network would pay the nodes that do the most work for it by securing it.
Example coin: POW coins: 0.5 mil Minimum Coins: 1 mil Maximum Coins: 2 mil PStake: 100% @ 7 days NStakeMax = 115% NStake= ncoins/maxcoins * 100% if(ncoins>0.7*max coins){ do{nstake= nstakemax} while (ncoins>mincoins) }
Assuming EVERYONE stakes - not likely, but a possibility Year 0: 0.5 mil coins; nstake = 25% ; effective stake w/ compounding = 111% Year 1: 1.05 mil coins; nstake = 53% ; effective stake w/ compounding = 60% Year 2: 1.68 mil coins; nstake = 84% ; effective stake w/ compounding = 17% Year 3: 1.44 mil coins; nstake = 115% ; effective stake w/ compounding = -15% Year 4: 1.24 mil coins; nstake = 115% ; effective stake w/ compounding = -15% Year 5: 1.06 mil coins; nstake = 115% ; effective stake w/ compounding = -15% Year 6: 1.05 mil coins; nstake = 53% ; effective stake w/ compounding = 60%
That is only one example. You could change the nstake curve to increase the number of years a coin stakes with positive interest. And you could also increase the NStakeMax percentage to decrease the number of years of contraction - of course that may be more of a shock.
Lots of variables to play with. If nothing else, it could be a fun experiment. The only coin I know with demurrage is Freicoin and this is not much of a success (some say demurrage cannot work if there are other coins without demurrage). I really don't know what to think about demurrage and implementing it would require a hard fork, something that we are not considering before several months. Still, it is important to remember that HyperStake is an experiment first and foremost and it should live to this expectation. What would demurrage bring? What are the positive aspects? The negative aspects? Is it worth considering implementation? I honestly don't have an idea, I expect many inputs from you.

One more feature request, this time for the block explorer: claiming an address. Could be used for your adress (nothing proves this is your only one or even that this actually is your address) or to mark known exchanges (we'd have to convince them first), for instance, of the stacking bounty, faucets... This would bring one of my favorite feature from the NOBL richlist (you know, the one that cost 0.25 BTC) Here's the HBN one: http://hbn.cryptocoinexplorer.com/claim

My coins are minting but I havent had any orphans or staked coins in the past 48 hours. Im not really concerned but this is unusual since I usually received staked coins shortly after they have matured. Are there any issues right now?

The chain is on target right now and accepting stakes once every 90 seconds. Difficulty is around 0.3-0.4 right now, which is less than it was a few days ago. Keep in mind that the smaller each individual block of HYP you have, the longer it will take to stake. HYP will continue to get harder and harder to stake over time as more coins compete with each other.

There is a threshold where the "dust" should be collected. This is an area I need to do more research on, and haven't seen happen in my own experience. The code is written so that theoretically dust should be combined when blocks are less than 166 HYP. This dust collection happens when a coin stake is created. I am not sure exactly how the mechanics works... is it from when the less than 166 HYP block stakes, or is it triggered by any block staking?
How I read the code at first glance is that when any block stakes and the "input" or total block amount is going to be less than 166, the wallet will grab other mature blocks and stake them in the same block. It will sum up as many small blocks as it can until 166 HYP is reached. I could be wrong about this, but this is my initial reaction to seeing the code. You can see it in wallet.cpp under createcoinstake.
If it's supposed to do that, it certainly doesn't. I have a number of coins less than 100 HYP, and a week or so ago I manually merged a dozen of similar small coins into one large 390 sized coin. Some of the inputs where < 10 HYP. Is this merging code inherited from a PoW codebase ? If so, it might be it's been disabled for PoS because it could reset coin age, and thus isn't wanted automatically ? I am pretty sure it is exclusive to PoS because it is part of the coinstake. And it looks like another requirement is that it is over 30 days old. // Do not add input that is still too young if (pcoin.first->nTime + nStakeMaxAge > txNew.nTime) continue; I can confirm that this dust collection code kicks in when you have a block older than 30 days stake. Here is a stake of mine that staked a block of 150 and 16 at the same time and combined them into one block of 307 HYP. http://hyp.cryptospread.com:2751/tx/9f57be30cd202e3c32e5fab27e73b15440db66ed7af320a73ff53462d70c6442

Uhoo looks like i might have to fork over 20k hype to devs soon , looks like its heading to 5k and beyond. less then 30k for sale on polo below 10k sat. it will be a happy and sad day having to fork over my babies. Its been said by Qibucks they Stake like rabbits wich i find very cruel , as a Animal lover and rabbit owner i prefer to say they Multiply like rabbits.

OK , so I received a few HYP on polo and i just purchased 250 more coins. Have 500 total in the wallet (Can't afford any more at the moment). My address is pDLU95MYUpybfHheJno65tmwUt96jxm17b So it's not minting because I don't have any mature coins. It says next block matures in 209 hours - is that correct? Im currently staking - am I doing it right?
What is S4C ? my % is 0 and address is not set - can anyone help out?

S4C is StakeForCharity, and it allows you to send a % of your stake to a different HYP address automatically. If it is 0 then you don't have it set to send anywhere. It takes 8.8 days before your coins will be eligible to stake, and that hour countdown is accurate. Have fun!
