Yes, that is still a thing - it's a really easy compile. (I'll point out that, in general, you'll get the same results without the configure options*. Not specifying them will just build with the system's defaults, which will result in similar/possibly-identical optimization.) As for what hashrate you would need for consistent profit... You can just assume that the RPi/RPi2 is constantly using 5W and do some calculations based on the value of the coin. * With data collected over about 2 months, the difference between compiles with digibob00's configure flags and without them is statistically insignificant. Compile flags: Mean: 4.8317 (kH/s), s: 0.322 (kH/s), N=5192371 (s) No Compile flags: Mean 4.8319 (kH/s), s: 0.327 (kH/s), N=5977103 (s)Superb set of figures. Not only is the difference there "statistically insignificant" it is 50 times smaller than the precision of measurement. When expressed only in terms equal to the precision of measurement, the results are identical.

Sometimes we are all very busy with all kinds of things that we forget to give compliments. I also would like to give a special thanks to TheFruitsClan! Awesome job done on their economy server with the Minecraft market accepting XMG. I'am looking forward to see the next development!

Since we are talking about mining i think it's the correct time to share an article that i wrote, intended to help the new users. The article is written having in mind the absolute newcomers and only them, you can have it somewhere in your bookmarks and share it every time someone new is asking for instructions about mining or introduce them in XMG in general. http://thdim.istothesis.com/mining-your-first-coin/(English native speakers, please let me know if something is completely wrong) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- For people who missed this one and need a nice guide check the link!

add https://multi.magipool.info/ ! there u can earn XMG much faster if u have mining gear or GPU u can mine any algorythm thats existing on nicehash even if not listed in the multipool stats page and multipool mining have beside a way to earn XMG with any mining gear andother sideeffect: buypressure on market and so a positive effect on price

Hi, That hashrate aimed directly at the XMG blockchain will simply reduce the XMG block rewards to zero, which would not win you any friends around here If you want to use that considerable hashpower to acquire XMG directly then the best way would be to mine with another algorithm on the XMG multipool. Oddly enough, all the relevant details surrounding this very issue can be found within the last few pages of this thread and the link for the multipool is just above here, as well as on the OP.

If a person had a low cost way of keeping the hash rate up for an extended period of time and owned a large amount of Magi in theory wouldn't they be able to keep the price higher by not allowing others to mine as much?
Coming back to this unanswered question. I am not sure that preventing others from mining anything worthwhile for an extended period of time has any influence on the exchange price. We have already suffered long periods of miniscule block rewards as a result of such activities but I have not observed any influence of that on the price whatsoever. If that excess hashrate was pointed instead at the XMG multipool then the earnings from that would be used to buy XMG on the exchanges and that would have a far greater influence on the price than anything else.

I'm new to this issue. Explain to me why such a speed can damage the situation? Because it just me? Or because this rate is generally detrimental to the currency? Can I distribute this rate accounts for 10? In this case the same harm to the currency? What CPU currency I produce without harming it?

This post from just a couple of days ago illustrates the position very nicely. XMG block rewards are highly dependent on the total hashrate, which is itself determined by the time taken to mine previous blocks (which adds a kind of random element to it). This is one of the unique features of XMG and is frequently overlooked by people new to the scene, so you are not alone my friend https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=735170.msg11542393#msg11542393It should be apparent that adding 10 Mh/s to the total will kill the block rewards. If you direct your hashpower at the XMG multipool https://multi.magipool.info/ using another algorithm of your choice, the proceeds are paid to the multipool in BTC and this is converted to XMG for you by purchasing XMG on the exchanges. This mechanism allows you to mine as hard as you want and supports the price of XMG on the market. Genius if you ask me If you are able to split that hashpower and point it at multiple pools, obviously the effect would be much the same as if you pointed the whole lot at one place. However, if you wanted to point 250 Kh/s at Coinmagi pool http://pom.coinmagi.org/ and participate in the Proof of Mining campaign, then that would be very welcome and you will get a bonus for taking part. See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1028548.0 for details. Hope this helps.

I guess it just comes down to keeping an eye on whats going on and making sure everyone is educated about using less Hash power to get a better result. As far as the use of a GPU, I just think it would be cool to use a 20 watt $50 GeForce GT 720 to get 200 KH/s coupled with a 20 watt CPU setup you would not go over 60 watts. This of course is provided people did not abuse the system by using higher power setups etc.

With you on that one. I am all for using less energy to achieve the same hashrate. Even a bunch of Raspberry Pi would be more energy efficient than a regular CPU, but I am not too sure about capital costs etc. I would need over 20 Pi to equal the output of my best CPU. As an aside, I still have three slots available for images to be included in the latest Windows Miner Benchmark utility. Keep them coming folks! I can also make more slots available if I so choose, so don't hold back with those images. Anything that catches my eye is a candidate
