If you created more than endless noise on these forums you might have some idea about the scale of the task and the difficulty involved. And you probably wouldn't be so quick to belittle the work of others. Still you're right, alpha testing begins soon. Who knows what devilishness and black magic is at work here for them to be able to do such a thing with their "photoshop Shadowmarket".  

The alpha testing round will be limited to a small number of participants, but you can request an invite on ShadowTalk.

I need some help. My wallet is stuck syncing... it's been around 93% for the last 2 days... a couple weeks ago I downloaded the most recent blockchain, but it's still just stuck here.
what can I do? I'm a bit of a n00b, which doesn't help either

Try this
Go to Help
Click Debug window
Click console
type rewindchain 1000
press enter
wait a few minutes
close wallet then reopen and wait to see if this helps the blocks process
if this doesn't work we will try something else

It's ready here are some instructions posted a while ago by one of the devs.

** ALWAYS BACKUP WALLET.DAT FIRST **

STEP1

1. Save your wallet.dat and rename it.
2. Load the new Shadow Latest client
3. Create a new HD Wallet (Options --> Key Management --> New Key) - give it a "name".
4. Goto Key Management --> Advanced Management and make sure that the new "name" account is showing as "default".
5. The wallet will have pre-generated a Default normal and stealth address
6. Send some funds to test (from your old wallet)

So now I would suggest you try a restore of this account to test it!

STEP2
1. Save your wallet.dat and rename it.
2. Load the Shadow Latest Client
3. Goto (Options --> Key Management --> Restore) - complete steps
4. Goto Help --> Debug --> Console and type "scanforalltxns 590000"
5. You should see your test transaction show up.

If all works, you know you have the correct mnemonic and can then go back to your old wallet and send all your funds to the new wallet.
Your new HD wallet is setup and the mnemonic sentence + optional pass-code is all you need to access all new addresses.

Robinson5 the first market  out wont be the most successful i can guarantee you that shadow is building something that is a cut Above the rest
First out almost always is not the most successful
Even before silkroad there were many places to buy
But none were as user friendly as silk that's why silk became the dominant market of the darkweb because it was well designed and thought out
That is what shadow is doing but silk is just an eg they are not building the next silkroad
But they are building an all in one platform for private and decentralised  commerce  currency and communication

That's very true but having first mover advantage certainly wouldn't help! Now because of the donations he can stop working on the DarkSilk project.  Even though he wasn't doing market coding I'm jealous and want our amazing dev all to ourselves

And exactly, shadowmarket isn't the next silk road but a place for truly free ecommerce
